The Invincible Sect Leader

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: Shadows in Sun City

The moon hung high in the night sky as the battle erupted within the disciples' camp. Assassins of the Underworld Syndicate, clad in black, moved like specters in the dark, their daggers glinting ominously under the silver light. They struck swiftly, targeting key disciples, hoping to end the Heavenly Mystical Sect's presence in Sun City before it even began.

However, they underestimated their opponents.

The Disciples Strike Back

Yan Ling, sensing the intruders with his heightened demonic perception, was the first to react. With a swift motion, he intercepted an assassin mid-lunge, his curved blades flashing like twin crescent moons. Blood sprayed as the enemy collapsed with a strangled cry.

Yue Feiyan, ever sharp, formed an icy barrier around the disciples' tents, preventing further infiltration. "We're under attack! Defend the camp!" she commanded, her voice like a clarion call.

Chan Li, observing from a distance, smirked. "Let's see how my disciples fare against real killers."

The assassins were trained killers, but they were not prepared for the raw talent of the sect's rising stars. Lin Xuan, wielding his thunder spear, unleashed arcs of lightning, illuminating the battlefield. Li Mei, with her phantom-like footwork, danced through the shadows, cutting down enemies before they could react.

Chan Li vs. The Crimson Specter

Just as the disciples were gaining the upper hand, a chilling presence filled the air. The ground trembled, and from the darkness, a figure emerged clad in crimson robes, his mask bearing the eerie visage of a laughing demon.

"Impressive," the figure mused. "The Heavenly Mystical Sect is more capable than I expected."

Chan Li's smirk widened. "And you must be the puppet master pulling the strings in Sun City. I assume you have a name?"

The masked man chuckled. "Crimson Specter will do."

Without another word, he struck. A wave of dark Qi surged forward, the pressure enough to crack the earth beneath them. Chan Li, unphased, raised a single hand and countered with a strike of his own, Tai Chi energy swirling like a vortex.

The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the camp, knocking over trees and sending nearby assassins flying. The battle had truly begun.

Meanwhile, in Sun City

As the fight raged outside, strange occurrences began within Sun City itself. The governor's palace was eerily silent, guards missing from their posts. Merchants whispered of vanishing citizens, of shadows lurking in the alleyways.

A lone figure, a beggar by appearance, watched the unfolding chaos from a rooftop. He muttered to himself, "The storm has begun… but who will survive?"
