Chapter 1465: Are Mine Already
Blinking, Linthia saw Rex coming back.
His furs had become sticky due to the blood of hundreds drenching him from top to bottom.
Linthia trailed her eyes down warily—his appearance made her feel uneasy.
Even though Rex harbored nothing towards her, no murderous intent, anger, or anything—his bloodied presence was hard to look at. Not that Linthia was scared of him but her instincts were screaming at the amount of pressure—one that she couldn't even hope to achieve—coming out from him.
'Keep what you saw in this journey to yourself, bring it all to your grave. Can I trust you to do that, Captain Linthia?'
As she looked down, Rex's voice rang inside her mind.
She was already warned before all of this.
Warned by the fact that Rex wasn't someone perfect—a bad person.
Now, she was seeing the full brunt of it.
"I've cornered a few for you, they won't be able to escape," Rex stated as he stopped beside Linthia, not oblivious to the shock and distress that were clearly etched on her face. "For now, I want you to help me with something. It's going to be taxing on your mental state. Can you still keep going or is it too much for you already?"
His meaningful tone forced Linthia to raise her gaze to meet with his quickly.
"I can still keep going," She quickly added.
Knowing the real truth to obtain power, more than a simple sacrifice of her body, she wouldn't want to waste this learning opportunity. She has to strengthen her will so that she can be as strong and stone-cold as Rex.
Only then would she be able to become the strongest captain, the strongest general.
Rex nodded his head and turned to face the Dragna Sea, the last place that held this area's history.
…
Meanwhile, Selvaris was still waiting patiently in the main pavilion.
A few minutes ago, she sensed her connection with Istvan was weirdly severed.
She scoffed at that sensation, thinking that Istvan must've been extremely exhausted and weak for her to feel a disconnect like this. His death never crossed Selvaris' mind. How could she think that? Istvan and Garvain were now a team, coupled with Franklin and Eiran—nothing could stop them.
Not even the Voidal Knight would be able to defeat all four of them working together.
So this was only an inconvenience for her.
Feeling a disconnect like this only made her worry unnecessarily, Istvan should've been mindful.
"Sigh… I'll scold him when he comes back later," She murmured lightly.
Just then, Selvaris anchored herself in place with her hands—when a violent quake happened, shaking the main pavilion and also the entire Dragna Sea followed by a deafening magical hum. As the quake settled, her eyebrows dipped into an evident frown, "What was that…?"
Soon, a soldier came rushing to the main pavilion.
"My Lady," He called, panic plastered across his face. "You have to come and see this!"
"What?" Selvaris asked hurriedly. "What happened?"
"It's the Dragna Land's bubble, it collapsed!" the soldier emphasized with panic and fear.
Clearly not expecting the situation to escalate, Selvaris was taken aback.
'Is that Voidal Knight too strong for us to handle?' She questioned inside. 'It's possible…'
Fearing for a bad outcome, Selvaris stood from her seat—and ran outside, following the soldier to the border. Once she arrived there, peering through beyond the bubble, she could not see anything. It was too dark—the Black Rift's concealment was too strong for her to see through it.
Her only way to see what lies beyond was to step outside.
However, the collapse of Dragna Land's bubble was evident, the bubble should still be seen shimmering through the Black Rift but there was not a trace of it. Something happened, Selvaris wanted to check if Istvan and Garvain were okay but she didn't have the bravery to step outside.
'What if that Voidal Knight attacked me the moment I stepped outside?' She thought worriedly.
Then, out of nowhere, the vision ahead cleared.
Selvaris gazed ahead and saw a Seeker, pushing away the black wind with a brilliant, glowing diamond above her head. Her Seeker Flare was so strong that the black wind from their bubble all the way to the Dragna Land was pushed aside.
And upon seeing what was uncovered, Selvaris choked as her eyes bulged.
Thousands of corpses lay in eerie symmetry, neatly arranged into two lines, forming a grim path leading to Dragna Land. This was no mindless massacre wrought by a Voidal Monster—this was deliberate and calculated, the work of a person.
Stepping to the edge in shock, Selvaris pressed her hands against the bubble.
She narrowed her eyes as she peered into the distance, beyond the Seeker, focusing on the point of what should be Dragna Land's bubble. Just then, her world lurched, and a cold dread coiled in her stomach as she saw three familiar severed heads impaled along the length of a spear, their lifeless eyes staring into nothingness.
The weapon stood upright—its bottom buried deep in the earth like a grim monument of slaughter.
All three of the heads were familiar—they were Garvain, Istvan, and Franklin.
All three were the direct lineage or very close to the Arcalen House.
Her family.
But now, all three of them were dead—their severe heads acting as trophies.
"Aaah…" Realizing that the three were murdered brutally, a raw cry crept out of her mouth. "AAAHH!"
Unconsciously, tears streamed down her face as her eyes reddened.
She couldn't believe that this was happening.
A dream, she desperately wanted to believe that this was a dream but the reaction from the other people behind her—also seeing the same scenery proved that this was reality. Somehow, against all odds, the three of them were killed.
Just from this scenery alone, she became the sole successor of the Arcalen House.
But that gave no satisfaction, only dread, and fear.
Noticing the Three-faced Leecher's carcass not too far away, tucked and cleaned from blood, Selvaris instantly realized who had done this, 'It's… It's that mercenary?!' She screamed inside, sobbing in tears as this was the worst situation she could end up in.
'Release me. I'll forget this and make no plan on getting back at you but if you don't…I will kill you.'
Her mind was spinning in shock but Rex's voice rang clear.
A clear warning.
And now, she realized that she had made a mistake, 'I… I need to get out of here!'
Crack!!
It was then, the same deafening hum echoed as Dragna Sea's bubble cracked and the Black Rift seeped.
Disregarding the soldiers who were now depending their hope on her, she ran.
She ran as fast as she could without looking back.
She didn't care about her image, she didn't care about the tears messing up her face, it wasn't important.
Even when the people called her name, she didn't stop, she kept running and running.
Instincts have taken over her body.
Despite not wanting this to be a reality in her mind, her body already understood the situation.
Her heels, a luxury item that showed her status, one she proudly wore as the daughter of a strong family, resounded hard against the hard stone ground. As someone in the Immortal Spirit rank, she could easily cover the distance—from the border to the main pavilion.
However, for some reason, the ground seemed to stretch.
Selvaris felt like she was running in place or worse, she felt like the main pavilion was getting further away from her. But through gritted teeth and panic, she pressed on. Once she reached the pavilion, her steps echoed loudly.
She ran to the main hall, wanting to teleport herself to safety.
But her entire body froze when she saw a man, covered in blood from head to toe, was already sitting in her seat. Selvlaris' face was drained from all colors as her blood ran cold—watching as Rex calmly stirred a cold tea.
"No need to struggle, it's already over," Rex whispered as he took a sip of the tea.
Fearful for her life, Selvaris instantly went to her knees and prostrate on the cold floor of the main hall.
"Please, spare me!" She screamed desperately—her entire body was shaking, the same with the words that came out of her lips. "Forgive me, I was wrong! I crossed the line! I was the foolish one! Spare me and I'll do anything, I'll even be your maid to atone for what I did! My life- My life will be at your disposal, but please don't kill me!"
Selvaris managed to push out the words through violent sobs.
She was still young—she didn't want to die.
Just the hope for survival alone made it easy for her to throw away her pride and self-respect.
In a slow and composed manner, Rex placed the tea down and turned towards Selvaris.
"I think you're mistaken about something," He finally spoke.
Upon hearing this, the sobs got stuck in her throat as she lifted her gaze to look at Rex once again.
Unlike before, his presence was now like a mountain, crushing her body.
At this moment, Rex wasn't just a mercenary for her—He was law, retribution, and the end.
"Your life was hunted down in that chamber, Selvaris," Rex rasped, his voice laced with merciless coldness and unshakeable resolution. "When you wasted the chance and chose to be reckless. Every breath since... is permitted by me. Your house, your family, your life—are mine already"
Deg!
Selvaris could hear her own heart pound hard in her ears.
Realizing that there was no negotiation, only death, she tried to flee one last time.
But the moment her muscles twitched, Rex was already standing in front of her.
At a snail's pace, Rex reached out his hand, intending to grab Selvaris' dominant arm as the Red Dawn of Kaiser gleamed with malice. Seeing this, Selvaris wanted to pull back, wanted to avoid his nearing hand but she couldn't move her body.
It was as if there was an invisible force holding her body in place firmly.
Soon, Rex's grip settled on her arm—he started gently at first but that escalated in mere seconds.

"GRAARGH!! MY ARM!" Selvaris howled at the top of her lungs.
Effortlessly, Rex separated her right arm from her torso brutally, causing blood to squirt out endlessly.
Some even got to Rex's face but he didn't care about it.
However, the sight of this made Selvaris grin like a true madwoman, "You're coming with me now," She rasped, her laughter choking through the pain. "I'm a poison alchemist—I've used my own body to test countless toxins. My blood is lethal, and now that it's inside you, there's no escaping death! You damn commoner fool! My blood can kill any Immortal Spirit! You'll die with me!"
"Didn't I tell you?" Rex shook his head as he grabbed her other arm. "It's already over for you"
Splash!
"KYAARGH!!"
Once again, Selvaris let out a painful howl as her other arm was severed.
Despite the excruciating pain, she kept her eyes locked on Rex, waiting—expecting him to writhe in pain as her deadly blood took effect. But the moment never came. Seconds stretched into a full minute, yet the poison that should have already crippled him did nothing.
Seeing this, despair began to grip her very essence hard.
"Why…? Why are you not dying?" She rasped as hope was flushed out of her mind.
But Rex gave no satisfactory answer.
<Congratulations, the user has developed the Immortal Poison Resistance passive skill!>
"I'm a contender, one of the champions to reach invincibility," Rex replied calmly, his voice was devoid of any emotions, a stark contrast to his inside—as he was angry as this small entity dared to get in his way of protecting his loved ones. "Do you think poison would work on me?"
Hearing this, strength left Selvaris' body rapidly.
No point in retaliating anymore as her strongest poison did nothing to Rex.
"Come," Rex grabbed her head and dragged her outside. "Let's see the consequences of your recklessness"
