Chapter 1464: Kraken
Rex noticed it too late.
Once he clawed out the Three-faced Leecher's three hearts, he created gaping holes across its form, and through those holes, he noticed another stat window inside. As it turns out, this Voidial Knight was pregnant.
Having two of its hearts crushed and its last heart wounded, it knew that death was near.
Knew that death was imminent.
Knowing that bitter truth, it decided to use its body to shield Rex from Istvan's final attack.
Naturally, it was hoping to move Rex's heart.
By sacrificing itself to protect Rex from that spear, Rex would spare and take care of its child.
And it worked.
Similarities were evident in this tiny creature with the Three-faced Leecher.
It was a younger version, less monstrous.
Its body was humanoid and its skin was ash-colored, the same as its mother but instead of having two arms—with additional tentacles on its back, this small creature's two arms were tentacles.
On top of that, its face was featureless the same but there were no additional faces.
And to Rex's surprise, this small creature was born strong.

Rex checked its stats and realized that it inherited the Three-faced Leecher's Echo.
It inherited the Shadow Aspect Echo.
Must be the reason its spiritual point was already so high.
Just then as Rex was checking its stats, his eyes trailed back down to the small creature and saw its tiny tentacle arms reached out to him—slowly. Rex extended his index finger, putting it close to the small creature.
Interestingly enough, the small creature seemed to sense his finger.
Slowly, it wrapped its two tentacle arms around Rex's index finger curiously.
As if it was familiarizing itself with Rex's finger, its tentacle arms moved up and down.
Once it was done, like seeing its parents for the first time, the small creature stretched both arms towards him. Rex grabbed the small thing with one hand and tilted his head. For better or worse, it looked quite adorable up close.
Snapping from his reverie, Rex accessed the System and picked a rune.
Deliberating for a moment, he settled on the Intelligence and Wisdom rune.
I can't really take care of this thing if it remained a baby. At least with this rune, it should conscious.
Rex then pushed his finger onto the small creature's belly and branded the rune.
It squealed for a moment, the kind of squeal that was disturbing to hear as branding a rune was quite a painful process. However, considering that it was at the High Spirit 1 rank, it should be able to endure this much pain.
System, how old is this thing?
<Scanning…>
<Notice: It's ten years old. Normally, twenty years is the time it takes until proper birth>
"Huh… It's ten years old but still this small?" Rex shook his head.
Considering that every animal has a different gestation, he expected something like this.
<Intelligence and Wisdom Rune has been successfully branded!>
Upon seeing the notification, Rex moved on to the next step—he was going to turn this small creature into a Werewolf. Since the System once confidently stated that any creature could be turned then Rex was sure that a Voidal Monster could also be turned.
Biting onto his thumb, he placed it into the small creature's mouth, feeding it his blood.
"I hope it doesn't harbor hatred towards me or it'll be a hassle," Rex murmured whisperingly.
Just as he was feeding his blood to the small thing, he noticed that its tentacle arms were reaching for the Three-faced Leecher's carcass. Not knowing what it was trying to do, Rex decided that he would store the carcass in the inventory instead of devouring it.
Perhaps it would be useful for this small creature's growth.
Rex was not familiar with Voidal Monsters and he didn't know how they grow so this is just in case.
<Warning: Nearing the appropriate blood limit!>
Once that notification appeared, Rex decided to stop and placed the small creature on the ground.

Soon enough, it squealed once again as its body was beginning to transform.
Even though Rex felt bad that this small creature needed to endure hardships when it was only birthed into the world, this has to be done. Rex couldn't possibly protect it without turning it into a member of the Silverstar Pack.
On top of that, considering the Three-faced Leecher's strength, he wanted this small creature.
Its power would make it extremely useful.
An Echo that could weaken visibility? If used properly, Rex could be invincible within the Black Rift.
"Perhaps, I could even make it my spirit once I'm home," Rex added inwardly.
It took a moment until the transformation was completed.
<Congratulations for expanding the Silverstar Pack further!>
<The baby Voidal Monster has been added and registered as an Outer Pack Member!>
Rex nodded his head and noticed subtle changes due to the transformation.
One that stood out the most was its skull which was now more shaped like a beast.
Other than that, the tip of its tentacle arms turned translucent, almost as if they were made of moonlight, and its mouth was now filled with razor-sharp fangs. Although Rex expected this baby to grow furs, its skin remained the same—sleek and ash-colored.

Seeing the change in its race, Rex frowned as it was quite a bizarre name for a bloodline.
Not to mention, the bloodline sounded mean and damned.
System, what's the Ecliptic Devil Werewolf bloodline? Explain it to me simply.
<Notice: It's a new bloodline that stemmed from turning a creature that wasn't supposed to be a Werewolf>
"Sounds like trouble," Rex muttered, but he quickly shook his head, that wasn't important right now. He would slowly take care of this little creature during his time within the Spirit Realm. "Now, you need a name… A practical name"
As he was thinking of a name, his eyes widened in a pleasant surprise.
Albeit struggling hard, the small creature was able to climb onto its feet.
Seconds after its birth, it could already stand on its own.
Height-wise, it was as tall as Rex's knee— that was already bigger than before.
Crossing his arms, Rex thought of a name but he wasn't good at it.
Surely, Evelyn or Adhara could come up with a better name but in the meantime, he would need to give it a name. After great deliberation, Rex flicked his fingers—as he thought of a name, "Kraken, let's call you Kraken for now"
As if it understood what he was saying, the small creature, Kraken raised its arms cheerfully.
"Oh, you liked that name?" Rex grabbed Kraken with one hand and turned around.
Pivoting around, he made eye contact with Linthia—who was watching the soldiers around them, making sure none of them tried to escape. Just from this eye contact alone, she now understood what Rex meant. She understood the conviction behind Rex's eyes during their talk on the first day in this realm.
Rex averted his gaze and approached Amanir before handing over Kraken to him.
It was time for the final act.
It was time for him to show the consequences of offending him to Selvaris.
Both the Narsa House and the Arcalen House would be destroyed today.
Glancing at Garvain, still hissing and grunting in pain from his severed arms, Rex approached.
"I came to this realm with a purpose, but your family stood in my way, and forced my hands," Rex said as he stepped forward. "The Spirit Realm exists on a higher plane, demanding that I strip away my identity. But still, in the Mortal Realm, I am an Emperor. Only a few would dare to cross me. And as an Emperor..."
Rex stopped right in front of Garvain, readying his red claws for the final strike.
His aura was imposing and towering as if the entire world was within his command.
Even here in the Spirit Realm, his being demanded respect and obedience.
"I'll make sure to crush those who dared dearly," He rasped. "This is it. Your house ends today"
Garvain's heart skipped a beat when he heard this.
The Arcalen House backed with a history spanning hundreds of years, it'd be destroyed just like that.
For the surviving soldiers, the moment became painfully slow in their eyes as they watched Rex's back, unwavering and powerful bent down. He reached for Garvain's neck—the grip was palpably strong as even the soldiers could feel his fingers wrapping around their necks.
Death was already beside them but the strings of hope prevented them from feeling the finality.
At this moment, the scent of carcasses mixed with blood fade away.
All of their senses heightened and focused at Rex and Garvain.
Inside, their hearts raced—faster and faster.
Finally—when Rex's claws stabbed into one side of Garvain's neck and then the other side, detaching his head completely from his body. The soldiers' hearts stopped beating entirely. Garvain's death wasn't only a heartbreaking scene but it's also the start of their ending.
Being the side characters of Garvain's life, their lives would come to a natural end with his death.
Rex held Garvain's head up, as if to give a better view for the soldiers.
"Kill them all and slaughter the Dragna Land first," Rex commanded with a firm tone.
Upon hearing this, Linthia bowed in obedience and began slaughtering the rest.
Since he already stepped into the Immortal Spirit rank—in one of his Soul Artifacts, Rex reckoned that he would give the rest for Linthia. She grabbed a nearby sword, flapping her wings to the nearest group, and began killing the surviving soldiers.
Garvain's and Istvan's deaths threw the soldiers into a state of despair.
None of them retaliated.
Only the mercenaries tried to flee but Linthia showed no mercy, hunting them down to the last soul.
Each skill made her stronger and because of that, the chance of surviving lessened with time.
As this continues, Rex went over to the Dragna Land's bubble.
He scanned the bubble with the System and saw that it has weakened greatly with the death of Garvain.
Innocent people were inside, sheltered as the soldiers tried to fix the situation but that was a total failure.
Rex clenched his fist, channeling a surge of newfound power—a devastating flood of life energy.
As the Blood Moon Order skill's time limit ticked down to its final five seconds, he made a brutal shove, driving his fist forward—striking the bubble with all his might. The impact rippled through the air and with sheer force, cracks splintered across its surface.
Once the cracks formed, he let the Black Rift do its part.
Splash!
Struck by the forceful wind of the Black Rift, the entire bubble shattered and exposed the Dragna Land.
Distant panic echoed through the chaos as thousands of people, now exposed, scrambled for their lives.
However, their situation stirred nothing within Rex.
Their tears were nothing but mere drops of water, their screams nothing more than fleeting noise.
Insignificant, meaningless.
For him, it was either them crying or the people he loved.
And answering that question wasn't a hard thing to do.
Instead of letting Linthia take all of them, Rex moved, leaping sky-high and landing at the mass—before rending their lives. It was a massacre, an entire city was now reduced to a desolate city, and its people were reduced to corpses.
Several minutes passed and the chaos and distant panic were no more.
Linthia stood facing the once-teeming space of the Dragna Land.
Her breaths were heavy as she gazed ahead, holding a bloodied sword in hand.
Every life she took and every plea she heard, all of them were still nagging on her senses greatly.
But at this moment, seeing her shaking and bloodied hand, she came to an understanding.
She realized why she was weak.
Compared to the commitment and determination Rex or any other powerhouses are willing to go, hers was nothing. So what if she cultivated—until the point of exhaustion? So what if she trained so hard that her bones cracked? All of her efforts were not even a tenth of this.
At this moment, she realized one thing.
Power is never given—it is taken by those who bleed for it.
