Exchanging a kitchen knife for a wife from the academy? That deal didn't seem half bad.

"How about it, Kohai?" Rindō grinned, her sharp canine teeth showing. "As long as you give me that kitchen knife, I'll marry you."

Sui smiled in return. "Well, this does sound like a good deal."

"Right? A girl as pretty as me, with a great figure and a big chest," Rindō flaunted her curves with a proud smile.

"What are you two talking about?" Erina's voice cut in, laced with jealousy. She was clearly eavesdropping.

"Oh, we were just discussing how my kohai here should marry me," Rindō responded casually, her smile widening.

"No way!" Erina exclaimed, her voice rising several octaves, loud enough to catch everyone's attention.

The surrounding students turned to look, surprised by the outburst.

Pouting, Erina puffed her rosy cheeks, looking undeniably adorable. She stamped hard on Sui's foot, her eyes glaring at him with a mix of frustration and something else—like a kitten bristling in anger, as if silently asking: 'Didn't you say you'd marry me?'

"Ouch..." Sui winced in pain, barely holding back a gasp.

"Erina-chan, why are you getting so worked up?" Rindō chuckled. "I don't mind if you marry him too."

"Huh? Are you serious, Rindō-senpai?" Erina asked, shocked.

"Of course! But I do have a few conditions. I need beef, tuna, and black rice every day, and don't forget the grape dessert from last time. Plus, I'll need candy and marshmallows regularly…" Rindō rambled on.

Sui was speechless. This wasn't marrying a wife—it was like taking in a high-maintenance freeloader.

"What's with that look, Kohai?" Rindō pulled his face playfully. "Don't you want to marry a senpai as pretty and curvy as me?"

"senpai, you eat too much—I can't afford to feed you," Sui mumbled under his breath.

Yoshino, who had been watching, patted Sui on the shoulder with a grin. "Sui-kun, with such benefits, I might just marry you too!"

"Now that you mention it, I'm tempted as well," Ryoko teased with a soft smile, brushing her hair aside.

Sui stared at them in disbelief. It was clear they were all just messing with him.

He glanced at Yoshino's chest and then at Ryoko's. "Well, Yoshino, your chest is a bit small, but Ryoko's is... acceptable."

"W-what?!" Ryoko's face turned crimson as she remembered the time during the sports festival when Sui had held her. The memory made her blush even more.

Suddenly, pain shot through Sui's foot again—Erina had stomped on him once more, her eyes blazing with jealousy. She was like a little kitten throwing a fit, her gaze saying, 'You promised to marry me!'

Sui could only sigh helplessly.

After the playful exchange, Sui brought the processed stonefish to Chapel for inspection.

"You chose stonefish? That's quite a challenging ingredient," Chapel remarked, clearly surprised. In all his years of teaching, very few students dared to work with stonefish.

Chapel examined the fish closely, his eyes filled with a hint of approval. "Not bad. Stonefish are notoriously difficult to handle. They have thick, tough skin, and their spines are highly poisonous. If one of those stings you, the pain is excruciating. Let me see your hands."

Sui extended his hands for inspection. They were clean and unmarked, with no signs of injury.

Chapel nodded. "Your hands are pristine, meaning you expertly avoided the spines. Moreover..." He flipped the fish over, examining the cuts. "You found the poisonous spines on the fish with precision. The flesh is clean and smooth, and the skin was peeled off perfectly without a single tear. This shows a deep understanding of food processing and exceptional knife skills."

"To be honest, this is the first time I've seen someone handle stonefish so perfectly. You've passed the test, though I'm afraid I don't have the authority to give you a grade higher than an A."

"Thank you, Professor," Sui replied with a respectful bow.

"First place again? Amazing!"

"Yeah!" The surrounding students murmured in admiration, all eyes on Sui.

At that moment, Yoshino and the others had finished their assignments as well and passed successfully.

"I didn't know you were so skilled with a knife," Saitō remarked as he walked over, clearly impressed.

Although Saitō already knew Sui's cooking was excellent, he hadn't realized that Sui's knife skills were also exceptional. He had caught a glimpse of Sui's precise technique with the stonefish, and it had been flawless.

"Did you finish your task as well, senpai?" Sui asked.

"Mm-hmm," Saitō nodded. "How about a little knife skills contest between the two of us?"

"A knife contest... with Saitō-senpai?" Sui blinked in surprise.

"That's right. I'm curious about your true level. Why don't we have a friendly competition before class ends?" Saitō's eyes gleamed with excitement.

Before Sui could respond, Rindō jumped in, waving her fist protectively. "Saitō, if you bully my kohai, I'll beat you to a pulp!"

Saitō looked a bit exasperated. "Rindō, I'm just suggesting a knife skills contest, not a fight."

"Heh, I'm still looking out for my kohai. If you mess with him, you'll regret it!" Rindō warned.

Saitō sighed, clearly feeling the pressure. "Rindō, aren't you being a little overprotective?"

"Of course I am!" Rindō slung her arm around Sui's shoulders and whispered conspiratorially in his ear, "By the way, Kohai, Saitō's family runs a sushi restaurant, and his knife is called Isanakiri.."

She proceeded to spill all of Saitō's secrets in hushed tones, much to Saitō's dismay.

Saitō : "…"

"Rindō-senpai always teases Sui-kun, but I didn't expect her to be so protective of him," Yoshino giggled.

Saitō cleared his throat, regaining his composure. "How about we each pick an ingredient and see whose knife skills are superior?"

"Sure," Sui agreed. He was curious to see how his skills had improved after unlocking the Cinderella knife's hidden attribute.

However, after a moment of thought, Sui decided against using Cinderella for the contest. It wouldn't feel fair, given its enhanced abilities.

He quietly put the knife away.

Noticing this, Saitō frowned slightly. "Sui, do you think I'm not worth your best effort?"

"Huh? No, not at all," Sui shook his head, surprised by the question.

"Then why put away your usual kitchen knife? A chef's true skills come out when using their trusted tools. I hope you'll use it for this contest," Saitō said seriously.
