The CEO's Wife Is A Demon God's Daughter

Chapter 945 945: Lured by the Mist

Cassie felt like she got lost. She could no longer see Flint and Scarlet from her current spot. The fog got thicker, giving her zero visibility around her surroundings.

She tried to communicate with Scarlet through their mind link. 'Scarlet. Tell me your location. I can't find you.'

But Scarlet didn't respond to her.

'Scarlet? Can you hear me?' Cassie tried calling her again.

No response!

Cassie began to feel anxious. "Where are they? Scarlet and Flint?"

She released some fireballs in her two hands, throwing them in different directions. She was giving Scarlet a signal to find her.

"C'mon, Scarlet. Take notice of my signals!"

It did not take long before two figures appeared in front of her. At first, they looked like shadows. But the views became clearer when they walked closer to her.

"Cassie…"

Cassie gasped and her eyes widened in surprise when she recognized the owner of that voice.

"Mom? What are you doing here?" Cassie couldn't be wrong. It was Zhen-Zhen's voice.

"We should be the ones asking you that, my dear daughter," Tristan also spoke up. "You were supposed to be in our world."

"Dad!"

Cassie was not able to hold her excitement. She had been missing these two. She ran in their direction to see them up close.

Zhen-Zhen and Tristan didn't change at all. Their youthful appearance remained as if they were just her brother and sister, not father and mother.

She was about to hug them but she suddenly stopped a few inches away from them.

"Mom, Dad? Are you real? Is this real? Are you also here?" Cassie thought that this might be an illusion created by the mist to deceive her.

Tristan and Zhen-Zhen exchanged glances with one another before they burst out laughing.

"Of course. We are real. Sorry for leaving you and Christian behind. We have been looking for a cure for Liam. And we ended up coming here," Zhen-Zhen explained to Cassie.

"That makes sense. No wonder you haven't visited us for all these years. I brought Uncle Liam here! The guardian warriors said they would heal him. But we got separated from them."

Tristan and Zhen-Zhen didn't look surprised as if they'd already known it.

"You should come with us, Cassie. This is not the place for you," Zhen-Zhen softly said, extending her arm for a hug. She was waiting for Cassie to come to her.

Cassie was still contemplating what she should do. She didn't expect to see her mother and father in this world. She was still suspicious of this phenomenon.

"I think our daughter caused another trouble. Where is Christian? Is he with you too?" Tristan asked Cassie who stayed rooted in her spot.

"No. I'm with someone. Have you seen Flint? Dad, I think you know Flint. Scarlet is also here with me." Cassie looked around, still searching for them.

"Flint?" Tristan looked like he couldn't remember him. He turned to Zhen-Zhen, asking her if she knew the man Cassie was referring to.

"Cassie! Come here. Stay away from them! They are just illusions!" Flint's voice was heard from her back.

Cassie shifted her gaze from her parents to Flint. He was standing just a few meters away from them. His face was painted with worries and concerns.

'Can't he recognize my parents?'

"Oh. Is he Flint?" Zhen-Zhen mumbled, smiling at her daughter.

"I don't like him. Don't tell me you are in a relationship with this guy?" Tristan expressed his displeasure.

Cassie could only sigh helplessly.

"Don't be rude! You are interrupting our conversation with our daughter." Tristan reprimanded Flint.

But Flint retorted. "Daughter? You don't look old to be her parents. Are you both kidding me?"

Cassie darted her gaze back and forth between her parents and Flint. She didn't know who was telling the truth. They looked real to her, not an illusion.

'Damn it! Where is Scarlet? Why is it that Flint is alone?' Cassie couldn't figure out who the illusion was. She just stepped backward, maintaining her distance from her parents and Flint.

'Scarlet… Can you hear me? Where are you?' Cassie tried another attempt to communicate with Scarlet through their mind link.

"Cassie, my daughter. We should leave now. You can bring your friend with us. This place is dangerous." Zhen-Zhen urged her daughter to come with them.

Tristan bobbed his head frantically. "Yes. Listen to your mother."

"Cassie! No! Don't trust them. They are impostors. Fight them!" Flint warned her once more. "Come here.

Move closer to me!" He also extended his right hand, inviting Cassie to come.

Cassie was a little bit confused. She felt like she was put in a dilemma. Should she listen to her parents or to the man she likes?

Something was off. Everything felt so strange. Cassie glanced at Zhen-Zhen and Tristan one last time before she took a step toward Flint.

Zhen-Zhen and Tristan were surprised by her decision.

"You are choosing him over us… Cassie…" Tristan sounded upset.

Zhen-Zhen just held Tristan's hand, stopping him. "Just let her decide. She is an adult now. Not a baby."

Flint, on the other hand, heaved a sigh of relief. Cassie listened to him.

"He is the reason why she is here… It is just natural that she chose him," Zhen-Zhen added, still smiling at Cassie and Flint.

"You always dote on our daughter!" Tristan complained, sighing in defeat.

Cassie could hear their conversation. And she noticed something. The moment she reached Flint's spot, Cassie immediately grabbed him by the neck.

"Aahh… C-Cas… sie… w-why?" Flint was being strangled by her.

"If you are the real Flint, there is no way you won't recognize my parents. You've met them before."

It did not take long before Flint disappeared like smoke!

"Whoa! That's our daughter! No one can fool her!" Tristan mumbled, feeling so proud. "Now, come here! My lovely daughter!"

Cassie turned to face Tristan and Zhen-Zhen.

"You are not my parents either. Mom has a great memory. There is no way she can't remember Flint!"

Before Tristan and Zhen-Zhen could say a word, a running fire-fox charged in their direction, attacking them. It was Scarlet!

"Aaaahhh!"

Tristan and Zhen-Zhen turned into a form of mist and disappeared. They were also illusions.

"Master, are you alright?" Scarlet asked her worriedly.

"Scarlet! Where is Flint?! You should have stayed by his side!" Cassie was worried about Flint's safety.

"I'm sorry, Master. But you are my priority. Not him."

"But I can protect myself! Flint has no power here. His life is at risk, not mine!" Cassie was afraid that something might happen to Flint.

"Let's find him!" Cassie commanded Scarlet.

Scarlet felt guilty. She could tell that Cassie was mad and disappointed. They had to find Flint before it became too late.

Cassie began throwing fireballs around them. She was searching for Flint. She didn't care anymore if she was creating more sound, disrupting the silence around them.

Scarlet was also moving from one place to another, searching for Flint.

"Master! Come here! I found him!" Scarlet called Cassie's attention as soon as she spotted Flint.

He was standing there alone.

"Flint!" Cassie immediately ran toward him and hugged her. But the moment she touched him, she felt strange. His body temperature was so cold and he was not moving.

"Flint? Flint? Are you okay? Can you hear me?" Cassie tapped his cheeks several times but Flint was not responding. He was standing there with his eyes closed.

"Master… I think…  He fell deep into the illusion. I'm afraid… he was successfully lured by the mist…"

"No! It can't be! Flint! Wake up!"
