The Boundless Journey

Chapter 3: Chapter 3 : The Destiny[1]

In the dark place, it seemed like the voice was coming from all the directions.

Max yelled,"Who is it !!!!"

The voice replied, " Ohh I am sorry looks like you can't see me in this darkness, let me make it bright for you".

A ball of light slowly started to form a few feet away from Max. The light slowly grew brighter and brighter, till everything in the place was visible to Max. The place was like a in the middle of space.

The stars were now visible to the naked eye, it was the most beautiful thing Max had seen in his entire life. His entire life he had hated this world for not giving him a single moment of happiness. But looking at the view which was right in front of him all his past grudges just melted away.

He started to let go of his past grievances and felt a something that was foreign to him, something close to peace but yet having a hint of wonder.

"I am sorry for having you brought here in such a manner".

The voice snapped Max back to reality, he looked towards the voice. It was a girl sitting on a chair having tea. She was wearing a white robe with a gold staff floating behind her, she also had brunette hair and black eyes. Her voice was so soothing that you just want to keep listening to it.

"W..who are you ??", replied Max.

"I am the Goddess of Fate, Ariel. I was the one who brought you to this realm."

"What???"

"I know that you are confused by what just happened and have a lot of questions in your mind. I may not be able to answer every question you have in your mind but I will answer the most important ones".

Max was confused by what was happening around him. He was nervous but surprisingly by hearing the Goddess's voice calmed him down considerably.

Her voice was very sweet and had a warm feeling to it, it reminded Max of his mother's care. The Goddess was wearing a white gown and had a golden staff and headband. She was sitted on a garden chair comfortable while serving some tea.

A spare garden chair was placed right in front of the table the Goddess was on. Max along side the dragon in his arms walked towards the chair and sat down. Seeing this the Goddess poured some tea into a cup and offered it to him.

Max was a little suspicious of the tea he was just served. But it would be rude to give up on a nice smelling tea. The aroma of the tea was mouth watering. The dragon on his lap also getting curious by the substance started to leap at Max chest to taste the tea. Arial chuckled a little by there reaction.

"Don't worry I won't harm you."

Max took a sip of the tea, there were no words to describe such a drink. It was heavenly. Max offered some of the tea to the dragon with him.

The dragon quickly gulped down on the tea as if he was hungry for a long time. The Goddess let the two have some time to themselves.

A few minutes later ,Max and the dragon had calmed down.

"Now that you both have calmed down, let begin shall we", said the Goddess. Nodding in agreement, Max prepared himself with what kind of answer he was about to recieve. He already knew the explaination was going to be absurd but by what he had gone through today, nothing can surprise him anymore.

"Let me reintroduce myself first, I am the Goddess of Fate, Arial. I oversee the destiny of every living being in this cosmos. Currently we are in at the centre of all the world,'The Void'. You were brought here because your destiny in your world ended prematurely. It wasn't supposed to end this early. Due to that you were stuck in a place called the Soul Realm. It was a place every dead person spend until they are ready for the next phase of there life."

Max didn't even think that there was something that might be more absurd than what he had seen today, but surprisingly there was.

"I brought you here because of your unusual destiny line. It was supposed to have disappeared after you died but your destiny is still going on.", said Arial.

"What does that mean by that??",confused by what was just said Max started to raise his voice.

"I know that you are a little agitated by all the events that have transpired, but think rationally. Let me explain what I mean."

Arial sharped her eyes intimidating Max. Max now felt the authority behind the kind eyes of the Goddess. He realised that he was in the presence of a God'.

'A beautiful God is still a God', thought Max.

"You should know that this place is my domain so I know everything and it is within my control even your thoughts",said Arial. Just as Arial said that a shiver went down Max's spine.

'I should be careful with what I think', awkwardly thinking.

"Anyways", Arial let go of the staff in her hand but instead of falling down it was hovering in air.

"This here is", Arial gesture in the air as a thread like glowing lines started to come into existence fro her hand.",a destiny line, every being in this cosmos has one. It is created when the person is born in there respective world. But when that being is about to die he destiny line starts to come to an end also. But yours still exists".

'What does this mean for me then? Why has my destiny not end then? What am I suppose to do now?' So an array of questions started to flood into Max's mind. But he soon composed himself at decides to ask Arial regarding the questions rather than just overthinking them.

Trying to make some sense of what he had just heard, Max tries to piece together in his mind.

"So for what reason does my destiny line not ended", asked Max. Arial looked at Max with a surprised face.

"You seem to be taking all of this rather calmly. I know that I was the one who asked you to be calm but I was atleast expecting some kind of reaction from you. You even are accepting all of this very quickly."

"I mean this kind of concepts are very much similar to the ones in light novel and anime. So trying to accepting all of this was rather easy for me." ,said Max. Arial chuckled a little by what she had just heard.

"Alright, so one of the reasons that you're destiny line is still going on means that your destiny wasn't just meant in that world alone. I can't say anymore than this" said Arial.

Max was confused by what he had just heard, trying to get more information from Arial. But from the looks of it she was not going to give him any more informationHe still had a few more questions but a more pressing question was still lingering in his arms.
