The Boundless Journey

The pillar slowly growing in size as Max reaches closer to the pillar. As soon as he arrives at the light. He starts to look for something that can help him climb up to a few feet above ground to reach the creature.

Nothing in sight, he desperately thought to do one thing, to jump inside the beam of light. He leaped into to the light but... Nothing happened. Feeling nothing at all he opened his eyes. He saw that he could see everything from here. He tried to swim up towards the creature.

The beam was luke warm. Turns out the beam of light was gelatinous from the inside. The mysterious substance was thick which made it hard to move in it. Max started to swim upwards towards the mysterious creature at the top. It was very hard to make simple movements. Max kept climbing up. As he was getting closer to the top. The density of the mysterious substance increase making it more harder to move.

Max was started to question himself why he was putting himself into doing this. Even a simple movements to moving his arm or leg was so difficult that, it felt like he was wearing 20kg sandbags on each of arms and legs. As the climb got increasingly difficult, Max thought of giving up. But the creature was at the top with even more dense surrounding.

Max was reminded of the puppy he found when he was only 5 years old. His parents had just passed away leaving him all alone in this world. His relatives were constantly trying to get rid of him by shifting him to different places. He had enough of the cruelty of this world, overwhelmed by it he ran away.

He had no place to go, no one to go to all alone in this world he went to the park. Running away from reality, he wanted to go away everything. He wanted all this to be a nightmare and just wake up from it. But he soon realised that reality itself was a nightmare. He hid in the park till it was dark, but as luck would have it. It started raining.

He ran away from the park trying to find a place where he wouldn't get wet. He stopped at few shops to get cover but was tossed away as he was just a poor kid with no intention to buy anything. Max found an alley to his himself, there was a trash can where he found a cardboard box and newpaper to cover himself with. He sat there all alone, trying his best not to cry.

'Mo..om, Da..a..d w.hy di..d you leav..e me h..ere',as Max spoke to himself in the downpour.

'Bark'

A sound made Max turn towards the innerside of the alley. Where he saw a puppy, all wet shaking in the cold. Max stood up from his cardboard box and gave the puppy the box and newspaper to cover it. Max felt good by doing something that helped other. He was getting wet but that didn't matter to him he felt good for the first time in a long time trying to protect someone.

He made a vow to himself on that day that he would always help someone in need even if he ended up in a worse situation.

Remembering this incident in his life he got motivated and used every bit of strength in his body to move upwards. With every step he took the density of the substance double. He felt that his arms and legs would break any moment now. Only a few inces away from the creature the density of the substance started to decrease.

As he made his way all the way to the creature. Getting hold of the lizard like creature he pulled at his tail and dragged it out to the open. As soon as he came out of the pillar of god knows what. He tried to take in a deep breathe. He was mentally exhausted, but strangely he was not physically exhausted at all. A few minutes ago he was almost about to passout from the weight of the substance around him.

After composing himself he looked towards the creature he just pulled. It was a dragon. The ones from the myths and stories. He had always been in love with stories like that from light novel to anime and manga he used to spend his free time in those world, where the main character used to save everyone by giving there all.

He was mesmerized by the dragon in front of him. Dragons were his favourite creature from all the stories he had read in his entire life. Dragons were noble creatures the ones who were closest to gods themselves. They had all kind of different knowledge and knew every kind of magic there was.

The dragon was a blue coloured scales with dark blue spikes on his back. It had a pair of wings which had greenish blue stripes on it which almost looked like jade crystals . The dragon was small in size almost like a puppy. It reminded him of the puppy he found in the alley. It looks like the dragon was sleeping inside the pillar.

Max took a step towards it and tried to touch it's wings. He was so excited just from seeing a dragon that he couldn't control his urge to actually touch a mythical creature.As soon as, Max touched the bady dragons wings, its legs moved a little, startling Max to take a step back. Slowly the bady dragon opened his eyes . The eyes were as deep as the sea. It has a dark blue colour with a hint of black in it. They were very beautiful.

Max continued to look at the bady dragon, as the dragon regained it's consciousness it looked towards Max. As soon as his eyes set upon Max, he jumped up on his feet and took a defensive position, grawling at him. It then took a step back.

The dragon became aware of all the movements of Max. He was watching like a hawk. A few minutes passed by but both Max and the dragon were just looking at each other, one for any attacks while other for any opportunity to calm the other down. Suddenly a large noise came from a few feet away from them.

Max and the dragon both looked towards the noise. A small black speck above the ground was being formed. Slowly the air in the surroundings started to move towards the black speck , like it was sucking it in. The black speck started to grow more and more. As the black speck grew, Max started to understand what it was. It was a black hole for god sake's.

' Oh My God, that's a damn black hole. I need to run away before it can suck me in too.'

Max started to feel a little pull towards the black hole. He was almost ready to make a run for it but he saw that the bady dragon who was less in weight than him and less strength to resists the pulling force was being dragged towards the black hole.

The dragon knew it instinctively that the black hole was dangerous. He started to use his claws to grab on the ground but the force was increasing by the minute. Max leaped towards the dragon to save him. He grabbed on to the dragons paws and pulled him towards himself.

Carrying the dragon with himself he dashed to the opposite direction without thinking. The black hole was already 8-9 feet in radius, it had devoured the ground and everything in its path.

The air was started to get sucked in it as well. Max could feel the pulling force in his back. All he could do was run to save himself.

Max had ran a few meters, at that moment the suction force from the black hole was so great that he was lifted a few feet above the ground. Nothing to hold on to in this place he was pulled into the black hole. Max tightly hugged the bady dragon, while cursing his life.

As he was about to be sucked in the back hole, only one face came to his mind. It was Elia. He regreted not tell her sooner or in person. How dumb can he be to just waste his time only looking at her from afar. He had to tell her in person how much she meant to him. He wanted to show her that she was his soul mate and he wanted to spend time with her.

A few seconds after entering the black hole, Max didn't feel any pain on his body of being ripped to shreds and the suction had stopped as well. Max opened his eyes to see he was in a dark room with nothingness in all directions.

Max started to look for any injuries on his bodies but there were none. He looked towards his chest and saw that the bady dragon was safe as well.

The baby dragon also opened his eyes and saw Max. It was grateful to him for saving his life. He looked at Max and Max saw him. A few seconds of staring into each other's eyes, they knew that this person was going to be his partner for the rest of his life. Max got up from the ground. It was pitch black in all directions.

As they started to look around the pitch black room. A light glowed a few feet away from him slowly tens of light started to glow in the distance. Suddenly they heard something.

'Welcome'

A voice was heard from some direction. Both Max and the dragon alert and facing in the direction of the voice.
