Chapter 78: Theocracy Encounters (3)
Having witnessed three of their own "murdered" in the street, the human supremacist group of the theocracy only worsened. Their in ability to realize their own mistake being the crux of this. However, they felt, well…
How dare that detestable elf dare to kill a human. Let alone three of them. They were our brothers and sister under the great gods. This bitch deserves death… Since that seems utterly impossible, let's make her suffer as much as possible. "You, go and tell the people what happened here, I'll go and explain this to our benefactors." A figure with an orcish grin said. "We're going to play the long game with this disgusting elf. Begin preparations to slow down public operations. And begin stockpiling efforts. One day our descendants will make her suffer unbearable pain." He continued with a sinister snicker.
"I can hardly wait for the day. Humans are superior to all other races. They should know their place." Another man said.
"Beneath us." The two said, in a whisper. All of this was said from what they thought would be far enough away. However…
"Hmm, it seems like there was more than a little truth to what you said." Night Silver whispered. What should I do about this? If my people remain in this land they will simply be hunted for sport and treated like dirt by the humans in the country. And with no way to really put up a resistance they will only ever suffer… I guess I should thank these human supremacists for giving me a legitimate reason to evacuate all of the Dwarves and my Elves from this land… While I'm at it… Hmm… "Sister Water, do you wish to continue living in this land? You can come and live with me in my newly built Sanctuary. I'm sure you'd be loved there. I know, I'll love you." She asked, figuring this to be a pivotal question to ask. The answer will determine how Night Silver would continue into the future.
The Goddess of Water stopped for a moment. "I… I have to help the people here see the light." She said, giving her official answer as one of the leading figures of the nation. "Sister, if you'd have me, then I'd love to come along. I'd have to make a request though…" She said through a telepathy message spell, knowing that no one could listen in on their conversation.
"I see, I guess I was mistaken to ask you." Night Silver answered with an official answer. "You can bring as many humans as you want with you. I'm not foolish enough to believe all humans are bad." She replied through the message spell.
The two then continued walking together, discussing a myriad of seemingly random topics aloud, while discussing the plan through their message spell. Which is what amounts to telepathy.
The two pictures of beauty walked along the long route to their destination, the guild base of the Water Goddess's guild from Yggdrasil. Each wanting more time to talk and show off how close they were to all of the people in the area. Their aims were to both inspire and discourage.
Inspire the hearts of the humans who hold the belief that they weren't supreme, rather they were equals to other races. And thus fellow citizens, not enemies, nor betters or lessers to others. This in turn would serve to discourage the human supremacists from acting rashly, at least that was hope.
For the Dwarves that saw this outwardly friendly appearance it made the facts abundantly clear to them, at least the adults who understood the meaning behind it. It was a similar situation with the Elves, though to a greater extent. Why? Because there were only a few times they've ever felt this kind of mood from their mother goddess, their guardian. It was one of pure rage born from a kind heart… In other words she was utterly furious, yet it calmed the Elves.
From down the street one house seemed to be further along in the whole living together idea. This house wasn't huge, and yet, there were three distinct families living here. A dwarven family, an elven family and a human family. They saw the two goddesses walking down the street and in a not so rare moment of a woman's intuition the human woman spoke up, but not before her daughter spoke up.
"Mommy! Can I go say hi to the strong and beautiful goddesses!" The human girl asked with a cheer that rivaled the seemingly shaky times they found themselves in. That is, with the issue of human supremacists going around. It would understandably make living in this house a little difficult.
"That's a great idea! Why don't you and the boys go say hi? If you're good she might even hold your hand." The human woman, mother of the girl who just spoke, said with a smile and a tender kiss on her daughter's forehead.
Turning around with a big smile, the girl waved for the boys to come follow after her. "Come one or you'll miss your chance to see the goddesses!" She said, running off.
Suddenly, from the other side of the open door a boy similar in size came running out waving as he did. "Wait for me!" He said, damn near crying that he had been left behind by the girl he viewed as his sister.
Out next was a shorter child, who despite his small stature from being a dwarf was doing his best to keep up with the human girl and elven boy. He opted not to speak since running really wasn't the easiest thing for dwarves to do, though in times of crisis they would oddly gain a burst of speed and… A unique run, where their limbs move around a little randomly for a moment before they manage some sort of stable form. They'd put their arms back and push their bodies forward, using their weight to help propel them forward. It didn't really help all that much but they felt like it did, and so they did it.
The three children had run over with great haste and eventually all three managed to make it time, arriving in the path of the now stopped pair of goddesses. Night Silver and the Water Goddess couldn't help but stir at the adorable sight, they each had a similar weakness to care for children, so the puppy dog eyes asking to be held were undeniably, irresistible.
