Surgery Godfather

Chapter 223 - 0210: A False Alarm

Chapter 223: Chapter 0210: A False Alarm

Director Wu was infuriated. He was cursing in his heart and was wishing he could give Chief Bao a good kick.

This Bao Chunlai, instead of controlling Yang Ping as he was told to, had actually restrained the expert.

Xiao Fu, having eaten the same food as everyone else, couldn’t even distinguish simple characters. He couldn’t handle such a simple task.

Upon arriving at the Security division and hearing the full story, Dean Xie was furious. He began berating Chief Bao, and nearly slapped him in the face, but was held back by Yang Ping.

Dean Xie roared, “Are you blind? How could you detain the expert like this?”

Then he shook hands with Yang Ping and profusely apologized: “It’s a total misunderstanding!”

Dean Xie hadn’t recognized Yang Ping. Yang had been a temporary worker at the time, so it was not surprising that the lofty Dean Xie didn’t recognize him. Being in charge of a hospital with thousands of employees, he couldn’t know everyone personally.

At first glance, Yang Ping did look quite young, that might have led to the misunderstanding. But Dean Xie, upon closer inspection, realized Yang carried himself with the demeanor of no ordinary person. Having seen a lot as Dean, he knew how to make such judgments.

Director Wu stood aside, utterly confused, his facial muscles twitching as he stared. Wasn’t that Yang Ping? How had he become an expert?

Yang Ping, an expert? What on earth was happening? This was a reality he wouldn’t even dare to dream of. But could there be any mistake if this was arranged by Su Nanchen?

He could accept Yang Ping becoming an expert in ten or so years, but just over half a year after leaving the G City People’s Hospital and he had suddenly transformed into the expert that Su Nanchen had mentioned. What exactly was going on?

“Director Wu? This is…” Chief Bao felt the most wronged.

Director Wu, however, was quick to react, he immediately shut Chief Bao up, “What’s going on? You’ve detained an expert in such a muddle-headed way, aren’t you going to apologize?”

Chief Bao swallowed his words and almost knelt down, “It’s a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding!”

Su Nanchen stepped forward to ask Yang Ping: “Professor Yang, are you alright?”

“I’m fine, sorry for causing everyone trouble.”

When Yang Ping heard Su Nanchen calling him “Professor Yang,” he knew his intent and just smiled.

Chief Bao explained, “It’s a misunderstanding, someone reported that Professor Yang was carrying a knife, but it turned out to be just a pair of nail clippers. It was a malicious report.” He then handed the key ring back to Yang Ping.

Yang Ping took the key ring: “Since it’s a misunderstanding, then it’s all fine.”

This farce had scared the daylights out of everyone. If it was just a common expert who was detained, it would only result in some laughters.

But this expert was linked to the futures of two people, and moreover, he was invited by Su Nanchen. If they offended this Young Master Su, they would be in big trouble.

Dean Xie led a crowd to escort Yang Ping from the Security Division to the Meeting Room, with everyone apologizing along the way. Yang Ping appeared very gracious, “Dean Xie, you’ve done a great job managing. I never thought you would pay such attention to security, even a nail clipper is not allowed!”

“Professor Yang, you’re too kind!” Dean Xie responded with a wry smile, unsure whether Yang was being sarcastic or genuinely praising him. But he spoke sincerely regardless.

Director Wu followed behind, his mind buzzing. He just couldn’t wrap his head around how Yang Ping had become an expert. Plus, the way Su Nanchen respected him, calling him “Professor Yang” every time.

Had he really become an expert? The world was changing too quickly.

Everyone had arrived at the venue, and the misunderstanding cleared, the grand consultation began.

Su Nanchen gave up the head seat to Yang Ping and introduced him, “This is Dr. Yang Ping from Sanbo Hospital, the renowned disciple of Professor Han Jianguo, he’s the trailblazer of the sensational Five-Section Replantation. We’re fortunate to have him here for the consultation today, let’s welcome him!”

Everyone applauded. After the applause died down, Su Nanchen continued, “Dr. Yang is the actual leader of the Integrated Orthopedics in Sanbo Hospital, and he was once invited by me to be the chief surgeon for a Quadruple Knee Reconstruction at our affiliate hospital! Professor Yang, shall we begin?”

Most people did not know Yang Ping, but Five-Section Replantation and Professor Han Jianguo were familiar names to all surgeons in G City. Sanbo Hospital had two renowned figures; One was Han Jianguo, and the other was Xia Changjiang. They were both well-known within the industry.

As Professor Han’s student, Yang Ping was naturally not far behind. Some people found him vaguely familiar, perhaps having seen him in the cafeteria, but they couldn’t quite place him. The only real acquaintances were Director Wu and Director Fu from Orthopedics.

Right now, Director Fu felt worse than Director Wu. When the security detained Yang Ping, he had hidden in the corner to identify people. He wondered if Yang Ping had seen him.

Director Wu personally presented the case, his head buzzing continually. Despite his nervousness, he managed to read through the case summary on the paper in his hand. His back was soaked, his shirt sticking to his skin.

“Professor Yang, this case, I’m afraid we have to trouble you?” Su Nanchen asked in a very respectful tone.

Yang Ping looked at the projected slides, “This case is serious. There are multiple injuries causing shoulder instability. If we want to restore normal function, the surgical difficulty is extremely high!”

Director Wu also looked at the projection, but his thoughts were not on the case. His heart was pounding fiercely, and he felt a severe palpitation.

In retrospect, Yang Ping’s surgery on Jiang Baicheng’s son that night did show some skill. Now, even this kind of surgery was within his grasp. Had he been playing the fool under Director Wu for all these years? Had he been hiding his true ability?

Or was he truly a prodigy who had been transformed into an expert by Professor Han Jianguo in just half a year after arriving at Sanbo? Wu felt like he needed to recharge his intelligence, it clearly wasn’t enough.

“As you can see, the patient has simultaneous Bankart lesion, SLAP lesion, rupture of the glenohumeral ligament, anterior inferior joint capsule rupture, labral tear, rotator cuff tear, joint capsule relaxation, shoulder impingement syndrome, and most troublesome of all, a superiorly migrated large hill-sachs lesion. Please scroll through the MRI images slowly, please!”
