Chapter 372 Alchemist Assessment 7
"Sun Tan understands. In the future, I will never oppose the Angsana Pavilion or any of its affiliated forces. Moreover, if needed, I'm willing to go through fire and water without hesitation," Sun Tan replied, calming himself and bowing solemnly. Other organizations would never be so kind as to waste thirty six sets of alchemy materials on a complete stranger.
"Go on."
Seeing Sun Tan's declaration, Stone nodded with satisfaction. This was almost an oath that every alchemist who left this place had to make.
Because of this, the network of the Angsana Pavilion in Snow Storm City was astonishingly strong. If even a tenth of the alchemists were willing to respond in times of crisis, the amassed power would be enough to intimidate any first rate force.
As Sun Tan left the Thousand Stone Association with a face full of joy, people from all the one star rooms began to emerge, some excited, some dejected. It was clear that only a small portion succeeded in earning the alchemist qualification on their first attempt.
"Wow!"
The formations of two rooms rippled simultaneously, and a fiery, enchanting figure and a cold, white robed figure slowly approached. Though their expressions appeared calm, they both wore subtle smiles of delight.
"Oh? I didn't expect both of you to achieve the qualification of a third grade alchemist," Master Stone remarked, a hint of astonishment crossing his wrinkled face. Truly, youth heroes rise quickly. Zang Dee and Kartis Van are not very old, and although the probability of a third grade alchemist advancing to fourth grade is quite small, without any unforeseen events, these two will likely surpass his current level in the future.
"What about Blaze Regret? Did he fail?" Kartis Van glanced at the three star emblem on his chest, visibly pleased. However, when he scanned the room and didn't see the figure he expected, a trace of contempt curled at the corner of his mouth. Competing with someone like that really diminishes my value, he thought.
"He's not out yet," Master Stone replied indifferently.
"Oh?"
Kartis Van chuckled mockingly, "Taking so long just to refine a first grade pill? It seems he's completely a novice, just as I anticipated."
Zang Dee maintained a neutral expression, but inwardly she shook her head. Let's see if you can still laugh later.
"Bang!"
A loud explosion like sound suddenly emanated from Blaze Regret's room, causing the formation sealing the room to ripple rapidly.
"Did the cauldron explode?"
Kartis Van looked at the white smoke billowing out and spread his hands in feigned surprise, laughing, "Well, that was unexpected, indeed."
Thick white smoke billowed out from the room where Blaze Regret was, slowly spreading throughout the hall. The loud noise caused those who were about to leave to stop in astonishment.
"Did the cauldron explode?"
Kartis Pian, who had been a bit apprehensive, saw a few fragments splattering out from the room and instantly wore a look of great joy. Having a strong soul doesn't necessarily mean one is skilled in alchemy; otherwise, alchemists would be as common as street vendors in the empire.
"I thought he was so formidable, but it turns out he's just a facade." Kartis Pian glanced gleefully at Stone Yee. "Old man, you must be senile to want to take someone like him as a disciple. If word gets out, it would probably become the laughingstock of the entire Snow Storm City."
"Who would have thought that even refining a simple pill could result in such an accident as the cauldron exploding? Truly, the offspring of powerful figures are different from ordinary people," Kartis Van remarked with a sarcastic tone, a slight smirk on his lips.
"Cough, cough!"
Just as Kartis Van finished speaking, a disheveled figure covered in dust emerged, covering his mouth as he ran out. His hair was even messier than a bird's nest, and the Red on his shoulder pouted in grievance. Its beautiful light yellow fur was slightly curled on both sides, charred black, looking particularly pitiful. Your adventure continues at empire
Remembering how it was frightened out of its wits by the loud noise, Red tugged fiercely at Blaze Regret's hair.
It was only because it was Blaze Regret; if it had been anyone else disturbing its sleep, it would have likely clawed their throat open by now.
"It hurts..."
Grimacing, Blaze Regret dashed to a corner where the white smoke was thinner, panting heavily. The violent energy from the exploded cauldron of a Grade Four pill was terrifyingly strong, so much so that even he couldn't completely withstand it.
Seeing the blood on the back of his hand, Blaze Regret gave a wry smile. He hadn't expected his first attempt at refining a Grade Four pill to end like this.
"Young friend, did you succeed in refining it?"
Stone Yee slowly rose from his seat, placing one hand behind his back, and asked with a smile.
At the stage of being a Grade Four Alchemist, one could roughly infer the materials used in the pill based on the scent in the air. The current air still carried traces of stone pine, evil mist moss, and ice cap grass, making it easy to deduce that the pill Blaze Regret had attempted to refine was undoubtedly the White Rainbow Pill.
Thinking of this, Stone Yee sighed inwardly. He thought he had already regarded this young man highly, but it seemed he had still underestimated him.
"Is there even a need to think? He obviously failed," Kartis Van said with a slight smirk, casting a faint smile at Blaze Regret. "In this empire, countless people aspire to become alchemists every day, and you are probably just one of them. However, the gap between people is often insurmountable. Sometimes, giving up on these unreachable fantasies early on isn't necessarily a bad thing."
Kartis Van's seemingly earnest voice carried a strong note of condescension, clear to anyone that he was speaking to Blaze Regret from a position of superiority.
"Heh," Kartis Pian stood in the distance, unable to hide the mocking expression on her face.
