Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 243: Chapter 243: The Response

While wary of provoking the powerful invader, the remaining two factions in the Lihuang Sector were not about to allow a "foreign dragon" to dominate their home. As local powers, they decided to extend invitations to Feng Mo, proposing a three-way meeting in the Hongliu System, near the former territory of the New Humanity Church, in seven days. Feng Mo was intrigued and readily agreed.

Two hours later, with the battlefield cleaned up and the starport repaired, the Storm Fleet docked. Most of the spoils were loaded onto transport ships and dispatched back to the Moonfrost Prime, where Ai Er would oversee their distribution across fleet expansions, infrastructure, and civilian projects.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the Lihuang Sector lay the Dark Night Prime in the Dark Night System. This was the heart of the entire region, a Level 4 life-sustaining planet and the capital of the Dark Night Empire. With a population of over a hundred billion, the Dark Night Prime rivaled the rare Level 4 planets in the Starsea Human Federation. Feng Mo, upon seeing such a rich target, would have eagerly launched an assault if he were present.

Within the Dark Night Palace, the ruling seat of the empire, four individuals sat in a deep chamber at the heart of the palace. At the head was the Dark Night Emperor, a figure with a square-jawed face, deep blue skin, and human-like features. Apart from their skin, Dark Night people were nearly identical to humans, sharing similar behaviors and even the capacity to interbreed, which occasionally led to interspecies marriages.

Seated before the emperor were the commanders of the empire's three quasi-T6 fleets. The Dark Night Emperor addressed them calmly:

"You've all reviewed the footage. Share your thoughts."

One of the commanders, a burly, over-two-meter-tall, bald man, replied, "Your Majesty, from what we observed, the enemy's specialized ships are all T5, while their main combat fleet operates with T6 ships. We have no fleet that could withstand such firepower. Their origin is unclear, but we've already started investigating and should have an answer soon."

Within minutes, a middle-aged officer in a black uniform entered and bowed. "Your Majesty, we've identified them. That fleet belongs to the Storm Empire of the Starsea Human Federation, a powerful force to the distant east. The Storm Empire recently had conflicts with the New Humanity Church and has come here for revenge."

The officer continued, "Moreover, the Storm Empire is the first to enter the T6 era within the federation, due entirely to its leader, Feng Mo, the youngest starship design master in their history, particularly skilled in developing specialized vessels. Their fleet includes interstellar missile ships, warp-capable ships, annihilation warships, battle planets, and stealth bombers. Their greatest victory was the annihilation of four T5 mechanical fleets and four T6 mechanical warships."

The Dark Night Emperor and his three commanders exchanged stunned looks. The reports painted the Storm Empire as more than capable of overpowering their entire realm.

If Feng Mo's goal was merely to eradicate the New Humanity Church, they might survive. However, if he had ambitions for the entire Lihuang Sector, they and the Star Giants might struggle to resist. This situation was dangerous and required careful handling to prevent a catastrophe.

"Emperor Minggu, you will go to the Star Giants and inform them of the situation. We'll arrange a meeting with Feng Mo in seven days."

"Emperor Mingshi, reach out to the Stellar Mechanics, and explore forming a mutual defense alliance. I hear this young lord has annihilated seven of their mechanical fleets."

"Emperor Mingxun, go to the Starsea Human Federation's congress. Inform Chairman Si that the Dark Night Empire wishes to join the federation to dissuade the Storm Empire from further incursions."

The Dark Night Emperor's orders were precise and calculated, revealing his strategic acumen. His three plans, if successful, might compel Feng Mo to withdraw. However, he failed to foresee that what he considered a perfect strategy was filled with holes from Feng Mo's perspective.

When Feng Mo received the invitation, he quickly agreed, recognizing it as a stalling tactic. Therefore, once the battlefield had been cleared, the Storm Fleet immediately set course for the Star Giants' stronghold in the Giant Star System, one of the two largest systems in the Lihuang Sector.

This time, Feng Mo brought a lean force: the Vermilion Ape, five T6 Vermilion Ape destroyers, and ten T6 Armor Dragons. Meanwhile, the rest of the specialized fleet remained behind to support the Beast Roar Fleet in defending the New Humanity System.

Upon arriving in the Giant Star System, Feng Mo could immediately sense its youth compared to systems like Snowhawk, Moonfrost, and Clouddream, suggesting that the Lihuang Sector was younger than the federation's domain. This youthful system likely contained abundant untapped resources.

As soon as the fleet entered the system, a video request came in to the Vermilion Ape's control room. Feng Mo accepted the transmission, and the screen displayed a grand throne room. Seated on a massive throne was a colossal figure—a Star Giant, seated at two meters tall, implying a standing height of well over five meters.

Seeing the formidable stature of the Star Giant king, Feng Mo smirked. There was no mistaking this as anything but a proper Star Giant.
