Chapter 135: A Choice
Cain thought so, as he didn't want to let Lucan and his protector get out of here alive since they were the ones who came at him.
He also noticed their vengeful nature, which he thought that if he didn't take care of them at this moment, he might unknowingly sow the seeds of future trouble.
However, Anya was no longer able to fight because the system had advised Cain not to let her take any more action. Meanwhile, Fenix was not in good enough condition to kill Lucan's protector.
Hence, the only remaining option was for Cain to handle them himself.
Even if Cain didn't want to use this method as he was warned by the system to not use his bloodline's power unless he was forced to do so, he just had a hunch that he had to kill both of them.
He also felt that it would even bring him a benefit that he didn't know what that is if he were to kill them with his own hands.
This was also the reason why Cain had never taken them seriously, because at most, even if 11 people attacked his group at once, he would at most reveal Anya's true strength while he would also take action by using his own bloodline's power and burning a little bit of his blood essence.
Because he was even sure that he could overwhelm them by himself if he wished to do so and was willing to pay a little bit more price.
Looking at Cain's expression that seemed to think about something because of his incompetence, Fenix said with a serious expression. "Actually, My Lord. If I were to put my life on the line, I'm confident that I would be able to kill him."
Cain came back to his senses when he heard Fenix's words as he was lost in his thoughts, thinking about something else.
"There's no need to go that far." Cain waved his hand as he didn't want to add problems with searching for Phoenix's blood essence if Fenix were to burn his blood essence.
"I can take care of him if you want," Anya butted in since she thought that it wouldn't be a problem for her to kill Lucan's protector if she were to use all of her bloodline's strength.
"No, you've done more than enough, and you have something else to do," Cain shook his head in response, as forcing Anya to take any action was out of the option because he didn't want to bear an unknown consequence if he went against the system's advice.
Anya was puzzled when she heard it because she knew that Cain understood her strength the best, as he had the same bloodline as her.
But since he said so, she could only nod her head since Cain must have his own reason to do so. Stay connected through My Virtual Library Empire
Lucan and his protector's faces became solemn when they realized that Cain even intended to deal with them too.
"Are you truly willing to go that far? We haven't actually taken any action. Why don't we step back and forget this grudge altogether?" Lucan's protector asked as he knitted his eyebrows.
"Tch, tch, tch… Are you really that naive?" Cain shook his hand before continuing with a grin.
He then continued. "Well, I will consider it if you apologize sincerely and kill him," Cain said as he pointed his finger at Draven, whose expression immediately became solemn when Cain pointed at him.
However, before Draven could do anything, he felt a cold on his neck, and his view was weirdly spinning around, and he immediately realized what happened when he saw his own body before losing his consciousness afterwards.
After Cain said that, Lucan's protector didn't hesitate to kill Draven as he instantly came behind him and swiftly cut his head off since this was the only chance that Cain might change his mind and let them go.
Because at this point, he didn't think that Cain was bluffing after he watched the entire thing with his own eyes.
Lucan's protector then came back to Lucan's side before bowing and forcing Lucan to bow. "We apologize for our previous actions."
Looking at both of them bowing slightly, Cain only smiled before putting Ayla aside and jumping down as Fenix and Anya were right below them.
He then waved his hand, putting Anya into his beast space, and patted Fenix's shoulder. "Get some rest."
Subsequently, he walked leisurely towards the battlefield and looked at Lucan and his protector, who had been waiting for Cain's reply for a while.
"Not sincere enough." Cain shook his head as he smiled.
When Lucan's protector heard it, he immediately gritted his teeth and finally gave in as he kneeled on the ground together with Lucan.
"We sincerely apologize from the bottom of our hearts, Young Master Cain. Please spare our lives," they pleaded in unison, which even surprised Garran and Butler Zen since they hadn't expected to witness such a scene here.
"Good boys." Cain chuckled as he grinned while looking at Lucan and his protector as if they were idiots.
When Lucan's protector realized that Cain was just playing around with them, he immediately stood up and pointed his finger at Cain with an extremely angry expression. "You! Do you know the consequences if—
However, before Lucan's protector could even finish his sentence, Cain interrupted him as he waved his hand and chuckled. "Heh, just shut the fuck up if you want to threaten me with your background, because I've told you many times that I don't fucking care about your background."
He then added, "But since I'm a man of my word, I'll still give you a fair chance."
Subsequently, Cain tilted his head and looked at Dante. "Dante, come here."
When Dante heard it, he roughly knew Cain's intention since he had been by Cain's side for a while, resulting in knowing a little bit of his character.
He then stood up and stretched his body for a little bit before jumping down and coming to Cain's side.
