SSS Ranked Reincarnation: Dark Dragon Legacy

Chapter 298: Make a decision

The wedding finished, and everyone departed that night. Quin and his new wife were taken to a house prepared specially for their honeymoon, but that was simply a move by Silva to ensure that Quin was not here for the discussion.

He knew very well that Quin would try to come or help somehow, but Silva wanted him to stay away from this whole thing.

Sure, Quin would be a valuable asset, and he also wanted to find out more about the legacy Silva awakened, but he couldn't risk it for now.

Sometimes, you have to force happiness on certain people, or they would forever inconvenience themselves for you.

After all the guests had left and only those closest to Silva remained, he informed them telepathically that they should all meet at the meeting room.

Amber, Sage, Roxy, Fay, and Lia came in together, chatting happily. Sage had finally overcome the depression she faced when her mother turned out to be Azrael.

She had been coping as best as she could and distracting herself with different activities. She trained more in the last few days and was really close to evolving.

Lia had become her sparring partner, helping her for some days now, and Sage had been getting much better.

Silva thought she would be down for longer, but it seemed he had underestimated her strength.

There was another thing that had happened these past few days that made Silva quite happy, and that was the fact that Lia and Mike had started talking once more.

Sure, they spoke ever since he woke up, but recently, she started getting closer to him again. They spent more time together, talking and even sometimes practicing.

Lia was really close to a breakthrough. She would soon level up and evolve, and her ice magic had become greater. She was able to manipulate her ice without chanting most of the time.

Many powerful mages didn't need to cast spells, like Lily and Drake, even Elsa, and that was because they had powerful intelligence capable of casting spells without the need for saying the words.

Lily used some basic spells like that or even formation magic, but now she could use almost all spells in her arsenal without casting the spells again.

She also took time to build her close combat skills, with Mike's help, that is. Mike was a full close-combat fighter, so he was able to help her, and she created the ice guardian spell.

She used Silva's resources and other things, as well as Lily's help, to create the spell. It was a spell that worked like a small domain.

Whenever she fought, she would create a layer of ice fog around her. It was extremely light, and her opponents would not be able to see it, but if their close-range attack came in contact with the ice fog, it would trigger an immediate defense response.

Ice bullets would automatically form and fire at her opponent with crazy precision. That was her way of handling close-quarter combat.

Silva liked it. It was an ingenious way to fix her inability to fight with a sword since she had spent all her time focused on magic.

Mike had also gained a lot from their shared training. His swordsmanship was all he had, so every day, he tried to build on it, getting better and better.

The more he trained with Lia, the better he got because every day, he thought of more and more ways to bypass her defense. He had to use his mind to create solutions, execute them, and learn from them.

After the girls, Mike and Aaron came into the hall. Not long after, all the Guardians trooped in while Aris carried Elsa in.

After some time, everyone was inside and seated, waiting for Silva.

Silva, Lily, Drake, and Gabriel stood in the room where Rose was, her half-dead, half-alive body lying there.

"What was wrong with her is simply a self-defense system to not let go of the heritage of her family.

It sends her into a state that she cannot move and give out any sort of information," Lily said and walked close to Rose, placing her hand on her.

"At first, I sought out simple and safe ways to wake her, but nothing seemed to be working until I came up with a new solution that will definitely work.

It's a high-risk, high-return operation. If it fails, she dies; if it works, she wakes up, and you have your love back," Lily said and looked at Gabriel. There was heavy reluctance on his face.

"How great is the risk? I need to know," Gabriel asked.

"It's a sixty-forty risk. Sixty percent she survives, and forty percent she dies. The procedure involves brute-forcing my way into her body and forcefully waking her up.

I possess superior mana, and because of that, I can jam into her body. The risk is that her body can sense the foreign mana faster than I can shut it down.

And if it does that, there's a high chance it will send a signal, telling the brain that the major defense has been breached. And since the major defense has been broken through, the only way to secure the information on her is by shutting down the body.

If the brain gives out the order, her body will shut down, and she will definitely die. That's the risk that comes with the operation," Lily said.

"No, I can't risk her life like that. It's too high," Gabriel said, subconsciously stepping away.

Silva grabbed him by the hand, stopping him. "Look at Rose. Look at her lying on that bed. She is basically dead there, and the longer you leave her, the more this complicates.

What you are doing is selfishness. You want to take away her chance to live because you are too scared to let her die.

It's risky; we know, but you have to make a decision. You have until after the meeting," Silva said.
