The way by which you can tap into the abyss with the summoning plane is called a summoning duel. As a summoner, you can use a special ritual to open up a portal that would link to the abyss.

From that portal, an abyssal creature will come out and will battle you in the summoning plane. You must subjugate it if you want to win and make it your summon.

The message ended there without any further detail, not even the spell that Silva was to use, but he was eager to try it out. So, immediately, he called out the system to help him.

"System, give me the summoning ritual, now."

[Summoning ritual, hidden spell initiated.]

It seemed he always had this particular spell as well, but like the other things, it was hidden. The information from the spell poured into his head, and in a few seconds, he knew exactly what to do.

He looked at the clone with him and spoke, "Is there anywhere that you can take me to test out the summoning? I would hate to destroy this city," Silva said.

"It's fine. As long as you have mana, it will fix up in a few seconds after. You can have the fight wherever you want," the clone replied.

"That's nice then. I guess I should give it a try now," Silva said and closed his eyes.

This was the first time he would be using an actual, real summoning spell. He channeled his mana and began the process.

The spell started from inside Silva, and most of it was internal before stretching into the summoning plane and creating the portal that would bring the abyssal being to Silva. Silva followed the process and activated the spell.

His mana poured out of him and created a magical circle in the sky. From the center of the circle, a ripple formed and grew until it tore a hole in space, revealing a dark void behind.

Silva was fascinated by the dark void that was there. He half wanted to go close and see, but what happened the next moment changed his mind. He was hit with a very powerful and corrosive energy wave from the portal.

It was as though acid was poured on his skin. The air around immediately became pungent and unbreathable; every breath sent fire to Silva's lungs, but he was able to withstand it.

Silva didn't know what was coming to bring such chaos before its arrival, but he knew for certain that it was very strong. He looked at the clone and spoke. "Go, meet the others and wait. If I need you, I'll call for you guys."

"Alright," the clone responded and then left, leaving Silva to face whatever it was that was coming now.

Silva looked at the portal, waiting for the creature that would step out, his lungs screaming with every breath. The houses around had already started corroding due to the toxic environment now.

After a moment of waiting, a purple beam of light shot from the portal and landed a few meters away from Silva. The explosion from the impact destroyed some houses and caused a lot of dust to rise.

As the dust finally settled, Silva had a good look at what he was going to be fighting. The being stood at eight feet tall. It was a fully black creature but with purple glowing eyes and purple glowing patterns around its body. Its entire body emitted a black aura that added to its sinister build.

It had four arms, each one with very long claws. Its feet were built like those of a dragon, and its face was like a lizard.

Silva tried to use Dragon Eyes on the creature, but immediately he tried that, he was hit with a backlash—a searing pain in his head—and that destabilized him for a moment. A moment that the creature used to its advantage.

It kicked the ground and disappeared. Silva looked around but couldn't find it, and then from above, it came with a slash. Silva only spotted it at the last moment and leaped out of the way, managing to evade the attack.

The claws of the creature dug into the ground. It was so powerful that the force blasted the ground open completely.

"Damn, if that had hit me, I'd be in trouble," Silva said as he got up. He pulled out his sword and immediately got into a battle position. The creature saw that it didn't hit Silva. It immediately charged at Silva again, but this time, Silva was ready.

The creature went for a normal slash, and Silva blocked it. Two arms with ten claws slammed into Silva's sword. The explosive force threw Silva back like a ragdoll. Silva flipped in the air and landed, but the creature was already above him again.

Silva moved out of the way with Flash Step, and the creature dug into the ground again. Silva immediately went in for the counter and slashed upwards, but this creature had four arms, and two were free in that moment, so it parried Silva's sword.

It came up with a double claw uppercut, one that Silva could not avoid at that moment. So, he used his scales to cover underneath his chin and reinforced it as much as he could to take the blow.

The claws hit his chin in a very powerful way and sent him flying. They had managed to tear through all the layers of scales and scratch the underneath of his chin, drawing some blood. He landed roughly on the ground and got back up, wiping the blood away.

He raised his sword up, ready to go again. The creature saw that Silva got up and charged again. Its speed was on a crazy level, and it reached Silva in an instant, going for another attack. But Silva didn't react.

He watched the incoming attack, waiting for the right moment. He didn't move or even flinch, and when he was certain that the creature was committed to its attack and there was no stopping, he made his move.
