Soul Land:The Dragon King's God of Nature

Chapter 136: Chapter 136: The Cool-Headed but Warm-Hearted Gu Yue!

Just as Xie Xie's words faded, Gu Yue appeared at the classroom door.

She walked in with an expressionless face, but the moment her eyes landed on Jing Shaoyu, the corners of her eyes and lips twitched ever so slightly upward. Though subtle, Jing Shaoyu immediately noticed—it was something he had long grown accustomed to spotting.

At thirteen (or so she claimed), Gu Yue had already blossomed into a graceful and elegant young lady. Her delicate and serene face seemed even colder now, but her unique temperament and aura were more pronounced. Coupled with her shoulder-length short hair, her entire presence exuded aloofness and an ethereal charm.

Standing just shy of 170 cm, Gu Yue's figure was neither overly slim nor overly curvaceous. Her silhouette was perfectly proportioned—neither too much nor too little. Her posture revealed a natural balance, highlighting a beauty that was just right, neither excessive nor lacking. It was the kind of proportion that looked effortlessly perfect, creating an image of someone sophisticated yet simple.

Because of this, when sleeping together, Jing Shaoyu often found himself preferring to hold Gu Yue. Although Gu Yue herself wasn't exactly thrilled about this arrangement—compared to Xu Xiaoyan, Gu Yue was more reserved, shy, and far more restrained.

On the other hand, Xu Xiaoyan's childlike innocence was still evident in her every smile and gesture, while Gu Yue was a picture of youthful vitality. Despite their differences, both girls complemented each other well, offering Jing Shaoyu a variety of joys.

"You're back," Gu Yue said to Jing Shaoyu as she approached. Her tone was calm and emotionless, carrying a cold edge that sounded more detached than welcoming.

"Yeah, I'm back," Jing Shaoyu replied with a warm smile, his voice soft and gentle, the perfect counterpoint to Gu Yue's aloof tone.

"Have you broken through?" Gu Yue asked, her eyes flashing with a faint glimmer of joy that she quickly masked.

"Yes, I have," Jing Shaoyu confirmed, his smile brightening as he added playfully, "I'm at Level 45 now. Pretty impressive, right? How about a word of praise?"

"You never fail to impress," Gu Yue replied. While her words were full of praise, her tone was flat and indifferent, as if she were commenting on something entirely mundane.

"Heh…" Jing Shaoyu let out a wry laugh. This girl—she used to show more emotion. Why had she grown so much more reserved? It seemed that the road to taming this dragon would be a long one.

"I'm almost at Level 40," Gu Yue said, changing the subject.

"Yeah, I know," Jing Shaoyu replied, nodding. Gu Yue's soul power had already reached Level 38, and if everything went according to plan, she would break through to the Soul Ancestor realm within six months. "Keep it up. Once you hit Level 40, I'll go with you to choose a new soul spirit."

"Okay." Gu Yue nodded, and for the first time, her eyes lit up with genuine anticipation.

Speaking of Gu Yue's soul spirit, it was quite a mysterious topic. Jing Shaoyu had always assumed she didn't have one, but one day, while practicing dual cultivation, Gu Yue unexpectedly summoned her first soul spirit. The revelation left him stunned.

He had always thought Gu Yue's soul rings were self-condensed. The idea that she had contracted a soul spirit completely upended his assumptions. It was as inconceivable as Tang Hao marrying a human woman—completely counterintuitive and baffling.

"Brother Shaoyu, when I reach Level 40, will you go with me to choose a soul spirit too?" Xu Xiaoyan interjected, pulling at Jing Shaoyu's sleeve and playfully pouting.

"Of course. How could I ever refuse my adorable little Xiaoyan's request?" Jing Shaoyu replied without hesitation.

"Yay! Brother Shaoyu, you're the best!" Xu Xiaoyan squealed with delight, throwing herself into Jing Shaoyu's arms. She rested her head on his shoulder, her face beaming with happiness.

Xu Xiaoyan's actions made Gu Yue frown slightly. She wished she could act so carefree and affectionate around Jing Shaoyu, but she simply couldn't bring herself to do it. It felt far too embarrassing.

"When is Teacher Wu going to show up?" Xie Xie broke the silence, his voice tinged with impatience.

Meanwhile, in the academy's principal's office, Wu Zhangkong was deep in conversation with Dean Yu Zhen.

"Teacher Wu, are you sure about this decision?" Yu Zhen asked, his brows furrowed in worry.

Wu Zhangkong's expression remained calm as he replied, "From the academy's perspective, the goal of cultivating students is to help them succeed and become strong. The academy has invested considerable resources into the Zero Class. Surely, you want them to achieve their full potential and bring glory to the academy."

Yu Zhen hesitated, clearly conflicted. He eventually said, "But isn't this all a bit rushed?"

Wu Zhangkong shook his head. "Dean, you must understand—this year is the only chance they'll have to enroll in Shrek Academy. If they miss this opportunity, they'll lose it forever."

Yu Zhen fell silent, clearly reluctant. The thought of losing the academy's most promising students to Shrek Academy was a bitter pill to swallow. After all, the academy had invested heavily in them. "You're a Shrek Academy alumnus yourself, aren't you? With your abilities, surely you could guide them just as well?"

Wu Zhangkong's gaze sharpened slightly. "Dean, you overestimate me. I can provide them with a solid foundation, but beyond that, their potential requires a broader stage—something only Shrek can provide."

Yu Zhen's eyes flickered with a mixture of emotions as he asked, "How far do you think these children can go?"

"They'll become battle armor masters," Wu Zhangkong said confidently, his tone unwavering.

Yu Zhen was visibly stunned. The weight of Wu Zhangkong's words struck him deeply. After a long pause, he sighed and said, "Very well, Teacher Wu. I'll support your decision, but I have one request: when they've achieved success, I hope they'll return to give a lecture to the younger students."

Wu Zhangkong nodded. "Agreed."

As Wu Zhangkong left the office, the decision that would shape the future of the Zero Class was sealed. Whether Eastsea Academy would ultimately benefit from this gamble remained uncertain.
