Chapter 293: Two Trivial Matters
A new day.
Ivan appeared at the entrance of the Vernon Millennium Archive. Before he could enter, a person came out from inside and greeted him familiarly.
"Here you are."
"Sorcerer Solomon, long time no see."
"Yes, almost three years."
This person was Solomon, who looked as handsome as before with no apparent signs of aging.
Ivan came upon his invitation, planning to meet at the Vernon Millennium Archive. As he was arriving, Ivan sent him a message.
"I really didn't expect you to make such a renowned name in the Enchanters Guild, rather than accomplishing something significant within the organization," Solomon gestured for him to walk outside with him.
"Must be a twist of fate," Ivan replied with a light smile.
"Had I known the potential and remarkable effects of your Black Magic Wind Bundle Array, I would have devoted time to research it sooner, perhaps overtaking you to the top, haha."
"Now there's a chance as well, the threshold for a Level 1 Sorcerer has been lowered, along with Level 2 and Level 3 Sorcerers. Many hope for it."
Of course, Solomon was just making conversation. He knew in his heart that he didn't have the extraordinary comprehension skills in enchantment like Ivan; most people didn't.
"Sorcerer Ivan, have you successfully mastered the Body Double Secret Method?" After jesting for a bit, he turned to serious matters.
"It's done. Sorcerer Doug helped me find the materials needed for the Secret Technique; you know he owed me a favor." Ivan didn't hide this, but he did conceal the fact about "One Body Three Manifestations."
According to the information he had gathered, the wizards who developed the Five Leaves Spear mostly achieved the "One Body Two Manifestations" level; at least, that was the case officially, and naturally, he wouldn't reveal his own status.
"Is that so, it seems I am a step too late," Solomon said with a hint of regret.
He had come to Ivan indeed with information about the Body Double materials, hoping to propose collaboration, which seemed like a natural matter. Little did he think that Doug would act so swiftly.
"Sorcerer Solomon, if there's anything you need help with, just let me know. I'm obliged to help," Ivan said. He still owed a significant favor to the other, and such matters shouldn't be prolonged.
"Help me craft a Multi-changing Star Spike then," Solomon said after some thought.
"No problem," Ivan was not forceful; there would always be an opportunity to return the favor. "Sorcerer Solomon, if I may ask boldly, which organization are you working with?"
"You'll find out," Solomon responded vaguely.
Ivan didn't probe further; East Capital had numerous organizations and institutions, many of which required confidentiality.
Solomon provided the materials for crafting on the spot.
In crafting the Multi-changing Star Spike, Ivan was quite familiar and adept.
The next day, he delivered the Star Spike to Solomon. Solomon didn't bring up the Body Double materials again, and Ivan, not in a hurry to create a second Secret Method Body Double, didn't pay much attention to it.
...
A few days passed.
That morning,
outside the Rapid Wood Tower, a charming figure lit up upon seeing Ivan come out, quickly approaching. Continue your journey with My Virtual Library Empire
"Lord Ivan."
"It's you, Sorceress Angie."
Ivan was somewhat surprised but responded. However, he wasn't planning to stay.
"Lord Ivan," Angie called out urgently.
"As I told you, I am not planning to take any apprentices for the time being, and besides, you are already an official sorcerer; there is no need to apprentice under me." Before she could say more, Ivan emphasized.
She had once visited to express her wish to join the Rapid Wood Tower, which he flatly refused. It appeared she hadn't given up yet.
"Even if I cannot be apprenticed under you, I am willing to serve you, to follow you, and even to be your slave, please give me a chance." Angie looked at him fervently, her stunning face clearly marked with stubbornness.
"If you want to thank me for helping you become an official sorcerer, there is no need, Elder Rothkins has already thanked me on your behalf." Ivan looked at her in surprise, unsure why she would say such a thing.
"No, it's not the same." Angie stubbornly shook her head, "In my desperate times, I swore more than once to the Mother of Earth Core that whoever made me an official sorcerer, even if it was a demon from an alien realm, I would serve them.
Lord Ivan, you pulled me from that desperate place, let me be your mistress, I promise to obey you."
Seeing that there was no opportunity, she had to reveal her ultimate motive, and coupled with her looks, the allure in her words was not insignificant.
With that remark, even Ivan was startled.
"Ruthless! You swear by yourself, using the name of the Mother of Earth Core as a guarantee, you must think your situation isn't tragic enough," Locke said, looking at Angie as if she were a fool.
"Having been in a dire situation for so long, what does tragedy matter to me now? Thanks to Lord Ivan for rescuing me, I am who I am today." Angie's big eyes still stayed on Ivan.
"Boss, Sorcerer Ivan, why not take her in? We have plenty of room," Locke suggested.
"Sorcerer Angie, I have urgent matters to attend to, we can discuss your issue later." Ivan waved his hand, and under his signal, the swamp ant quickly enlarged its form.
He hopped on first, followed closely by Locke.
"Right, we have urgent matters, you go back and wait, we'll talk when we return."
"Sorcerer Ivan, I will not give up."
Watching their receding figures, Angie murmured softly, her expression filled with determination.
In this life, what Ivan longed for was the path of sorcery; other things, like kinship and love, were merely embellishments. For the beautiful women who presented themselves, he always followed his heart.
This girl was connected to Rothkins, and he didn't want to invite trouble unnecessarily.
After leaving Neighborhood No. 107, Ivan quickly put the recent events out of his mind.
This trip, his destination was the Dodd magic stone mine, the large one awarded by the joint council, also located in the eastern region of the Chanay Continent.
East Capital East Blade City was as large as a major country, one could imagine the vastness of the entire eastern region.
On their journey, Ivan didn't stay in any other cities; no matter how much they developed, none could match the prosperity of East Capital, and lingering was fruitless. Even so, it took them about ten days to reach the Dodd Mountain Range where the Dodd magic stone mine was located.
Like most magic stone mines, this area was also desolate, but there were troops stationed here.
As the swamp ant approached, it triggered an alert from the troops.
"Is this Sorcerer Ivan Marichadon? I am Captain Beck Berson, of the Seventh Combat Team, Rock Dog Battalion, East Blade Fourth Army Legion," the leading team captain recognized Ivan, but still didn't relax his guard.
"That's correct, I am from East Capital Enchantment Guild." Ivan tossed over the charter.
"We have all heard about it; you devised the Black Magic Wind Fire Array, benefiting many apprentices." Beck confirmed the charter issued by the City Lord's Residence before letting his subordinates relax their vigilance.
"It's part of my job," Ivan said blandly.
It was known that East Capital had four major legions, with the First and Second being the most renowned, stationed in East Capital year-round.
Then came the Third and Fourth Legions, which spent most of their time in other areas of the East, handling a variety of tasks, such as guarding the magic stone mine.
"Lord Ivan, do you still need us to guard this place?"
"Of course."
All it took was payment of magic stones as compensation; having official troops on guard naturally provided more security.
Moreover, he could see that the captain in front of him was a veteran Level 1 Sorcerer, and the team also included numerous Level 1 Sorcerers.
Likewise for the other combat teams.
After careful inquiry, Ivan learned that the magic stone mine had been mined for a long time, with only about one-fifth of the magic stones remaining.
Since the Dodd magic stone mine was a large one, this quantity was actually considerable.
