Chapter 292: The Legacy of Space
"Peace be with you, Lord Ivan, I'm delighted to see you."
"Hello."
"Good day, Elder Ivan, feel free to pick anything you like, I'll give you a discount, no—fifty percent off. It's an honor for you to take an interest in my wares."
"Maybe next time."
"Good morning, Sorcerer Ivan, when you have time, let's discuss some Enchantment issues."
"Morning, Sorcerer Barny, I've heard your research is making good progress, it's truly exciting."
As word of the Black Magic Wind Fire Array spread, Ivan became a celebrity in the Enchanters Guild and wherever he went, people greeted him—even Sorcerer Barny, who once had refused to let him be an assistant, now would take the initiative to stop and chat when they met.
Such changes were somewhat unfamiliar to Ivan.
Inside the guild's grand hall, after dealing with both acquaintances and strangers, he walked straight up to the second floor of Troika Tower and entered the office of the Vice President to meet with Angus.
"Sorcerer Ivan, you know why I've called for you?" Angus said with a smile, indicating that formalities were unnecessary.
"Could it be that the request I made to the main guild has been approved?" Ivan asked, filled with anticipation.
A week earlier, after careful deliberation, he had decided to make a request to the main guild for some knowledge inheritance regarding space and had expressed his desire to study teleportation arrays.
At the time, Angus had smiled more than anyone, praising him as a mainstay of the School of Space.
"You guessed right; the headquarters has agreed to your request." Angus spoke as he took out a ring, allowing it to float towards Ivan. "This is a Space Ring, everything you asked for is inside, and the ring itself is a reward from the headquarters."
A Space Ring?
Your journey continues at My Virtual Library Empire
Ivan's expression brightened; this was a genuine piece of space equipment, not a flawed Transfer Sealing Scroll.
The shortcomings of the Transfer Sealing Scroll were apparent—both storing and retrieving items were inconvenient and not suitable for combat. Moreover, these scrolls had a limited lifespan, usually between three and five years, with the longest being no more than ten years, after which they would become useless.
The Transfer Sealing Scroll was also easily damaged, which could affect the stored items.
The Space Ring didn't have these issues; with the proper care, it could be used for several hundred years.
After receiving the Space Ring, Ivan was about to probe it with his spiritual power to see what else the main guild had rewarded him with.
"Check it when you get back." Angus stopped him with a chuckle.
"It's my first time seeing a space magicalized item; I was too hasty." Ivan paused, feeling slightly embarrassed.
"Sorcerer Ivan," Angus's tone suddenly became serious.
"Please speak," Ivan responded earnestly.
"It's clear that the Black Magic Wind Fire Array still has much potential for research. So many people have high expectations of you; you must not stop here."
"I'll try my best, but my abilities are limited; I might fall short."
"Take your time, it doesn't matter if it takes five years or ten, but make sure no one gets ahead of you." Angus wasn't rushing him—research is hardly completed in one leap. He paused before continuing:
"The knowledge inheritance given to you by the headquarters must be exceptional. Use this knowledge well. I'm still waiting for you to make a name for the School of Space and to intimidate other schools when the time comes."
Ivan silently nodded.
He discerned another meaning in the Vice President's words—if he had any research topics, he should apply quickly, as the guild would definitely provide the maximum support.
Before long, Ivan returned to Rapid Wood Tower from the guild.
He couldn't wait to imprint his own mark onto the Space Ring, taking initial control.
He probed it with his spiritual power.
How small!
The interior of the ring was a perfect cube in volume.
Compared to the Silkworm Queen's insect nest space, he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.
"Hey, I can't be greedy."
He quickly realized that this Space Ring was probably an extra gift, and that any additional gain was a bonus. More importantly, it was about the contents of the space.
'Grimoire Book of Milor' complete volumes'
'Meditation Method "Pure White Star"'
The "Book of Milor" was written by an Alien Race Sage and contained ancient space knowledge. During his time at Shadow Lake, Solomon had once given him a partial copy—just a few pages, which allowed Ivan to grasp a portion of basic space knowledge and made an introduction.
The complete "Book of Milor" before him now was different: two substantial volumes, likely compiled by someone, consisting of an upper and a lower volume with rather comprehensive content.
The upper volume contained theoretical knowledge, detailed descriptions of space knowledge, outlines of planes, experiences in the Star Realm, and so on.
The lower volume contained practical knowledge, such as Space-type runes, runes bundles, and basic diagrams for intermediate runes sorcery arrays, covering energy gathering, spatial setup, minor teleportation formations, and more.
"The headquarters are truly generous; once I've mastered it, I could gather the materials to craft my own Space Ring," he mused as he quickly flipped through the "Book of Milor," filled with emotion after finishing.
Then, he picked up another reward, a piece of beast hide inscribed with spatial runes.
Clearly, this was the physical medium for the 'Meditation Method "Pure White Star",' containing only two levels: the basic and the intermediate sections, with the latter including a spell known as 'Spatial Cut'.
"A meditation method and a grimoire, encompassing both theory and application, forming such a strong systematic body of knowledge, truly justifying the word 'inheritance.'"
Ivan felt fortunate that he hadn't made other miscellaneous requests.
Among all element systems, the Space-type is undoubtedly unique, with the value of its knowledge inheritance immeasurable.
Without a doubt, these two items were treasures hard to come by.
Had he not been a part of the Enchanters Guild, had he not contributed to the development of the sorcerer world, and had he not aspired to research teleportation arrays—with his strength and background, it would have been unlikely for these items to fall into his hands.
At that moment, he truly believed Angus's words—that indeed, there were people who had great expectations of him.
For Ivan, this meant not only pressure but also a tremendous drive, adding urgency to improving his own strength.
Strength: 16.6, Agility: 16.9, Body Constitution: 17.1, Spiritual Power: 126.6
His eyes sparkled for a moment as the statistics clearly emerged.
Compared to two years ago, his physical and spiritual strengths had seen limited improvement.
Physically, he was at the Flying Knight stage, equivalent to a Level 3 creature.
Regarding spiritual power, he was still at the liquefaction stage.
"First, I'll collect a batch of intermediate element crystals, then head to the Dodd magic stone mine; I should be able to enter the 'secondary elementalization' phase soon." He had a strategic plan for enhancing his strength.
In fact, he had spent the past two years intensely studying the Black Magic Wind Fire Array, deepening it to an intermediate runes sorcery array—not just to make a name for himself but also to use it as a means to enhance his own abilities, as he had done when he was a Level 1 Sorcerer.
The Dodd magic stone mine was a timely opportunity.
He planned to delve into the inherited knowledge of space once his strength had further increased.
