Chapter 1260: Final battle with demons (20)



After the demon king appeared, it was as if all of the demons had been suddenly roused.

All of them seemed like they were filled with energy by some kind of outside source and they all seemed like they were ready to fight.

That was just the kind of prestige and power that the demon king had.

Especially when he was covered in that dark corruption energy that was much denser than anything that had been seen previously.

There was no doubt that whatever was the source of that dark corruption energy was pumping that energy directly into the demon king.

As for how strong the demon king actually was, that was still to be seen. However, I wasn't worried at all even though it seemed like the demons were becoming stronger from having the demon king lead them.

That was because there was one more thing that I had prepared.

After the demon king finished releasing its energy, the voice from before said, "Destroy them all!"

Once this order was given, the demons charged without any hesitation.

Of course, the only thing that they were met with was a barrage of attacks.

During the time that they seemed to be increasing their own strength, it wasn't as if the human forces had remained idle. They had been preparing for when the demons began their attack.

The barrage of attacks landed right on the demons and they took serious damage from it. The only thing that had really been increased was the morale of the demons. It wasn't as if the appearance of the demon king was enough to raise the powers of the demons.

So they couldn't last under a single barrage of attacks.

But that was only the first line of demons that were hit with the attack. This was just the vanguard of the demons, there were still more demons that were behind them ready to fight. The strange thing was that it didn't seem like they were afraid of death.

With the way that they charged forward, it didn't seem like there was a trace of hesitation in them.

This didn't seem like the effects of their morale being raised. Instead, this almost seemed like they had been brainwashed by something and were being forced to fight.

It also seemed like they were afraid for their lives...

Regardless of what it was, it was a fact that they were dangerous, so no one let their guards down around them.

But before the two sides could clash, there was something else that happened.

It came from the two flanks of the demon race army.

There were two large explosions that rang out through the battlefield.

The demons were being pinched in, so they had no choice but to turn to face these forces that had suddenly appeared.

But the true identities of these two forces were a surprise. It definitely was not something that anyone expected to see.

It was a group of dwarves and a group of mermen that pierced through the lines of the demons.

Though it was harder to recognize the mermen since they had human legs, which made them look human. If it wasn't for the fact for the small features that separated them, then it would have been hard to tell them apart from humans.

Only why were they here?

After the demons were flanked by the dwarves and the mermen, they had no choice but to divert some of their forces to handle them. They had caught them off guard, so they had to send forces to deal with them.

From the voices, it seemed that the dwarves and mermen had been waiting for a while now. "Taste my axe!"

"Ah this was worth the wait!"

"I want to slaughter more demons! It really was too long!"

The fact that they had been waiting a while made them even more excited about attacking the demons.

But diverting these troops was actually the wrong choice for the demons.

The moment that they diverted the troops, there was a gap that was created in the lines of the demons. The gap that was created formed a path that led right to the demon king which someone else exploited.

There was a third group that suddenly came out of nowhere that started charging at the path that was created. In no time at all, the demons that were blocking the way of this third group were being pushed away by the power of this third group.

There was one large explosion that scattered the demons before they started cutting through the demons.

As they charged through, their appearances were revealed.

It was hard to mistake them because of the size of these people.

It was a group of giants that were charging through the lines of demons.

At the head of that group of giants was one that was swinging a glowing club. Whenever that glowing club swung out, there were demons that were smashed to pieces.

Just this one giant alone seemed like he would be enough to take down all of the demons in front of him. But it was even worse with all of the other giants helping that one giant in front. Naturally, the one giant that was in front of the others leading the way was Alidus.

He had been waiting the entire time and he had been anxiously watching because of the orders that he had been given.

But now that he was free, he would naturally take out all that anxiety on the demons in front

of him.

No matter how they tried to resist, they couldn't stop this group of giants at all.

It really seemed like the giants would be able to make it to the demon king.

That was until a bunch of large demons suddenly appeared.

These large demons were formed when demons with corruption energy suddenly came

together.

These large demons were harder to take down.

Or they would have been if they hadn't been suddenly hit with a bunch of glowing arrows.
