Home of the Devil Fruits

A sleek, black SUV glided silently to a stop in front of the store, its polished exterior gleaming under the streetlights. After a brief pause, the door swung open, and a man and a woman stepped out. The man had a sturdy, broad-shouldered frame, while the woman was tall and slender, exuding confidence with every step.

If Rosh had been present, he would have instantly recognized the pair. Both of them were no strangers to him, especially the woman whom he had encountered just a few days ago.

These two weren't ordinary passersby—they were none other than Tony Stark's most trusted allies: Pepper Potts, the sharp and capable CEO of Stark Industries, and Happy Hogan, Tony's ever-reliable driver and bodyguard.

Rosh often found himself puzzled by one particular detail about this duo. He couldn't quite wrap his head around why someone as brilliant and resourceful as Tony Stark would choose someone like Happy to be his bodyguard.

"Pepper, hold on! Wait a second!" Happy called out, breaking into a brisk jog as Pepper determinedly approached the shop. His tone carried a mix of urgency and concern. "You can't go in there! I can't just stand here and let you get scammed!"

Pepper turned toward him, clearly irritated. "Happy, we've had this conversation already," she said firmly. "I'm not being scammed. The Devil Fruit is real—I've seen it with my own eyes. No, scratch that—I've felt its effects myself!"

Happy shook his head, his expression a blend of disbelief and frustration. "Pepper, seriously? Street performers can pull off illusions that are just as convincing, if not more so! This is nothing but a clever trick!"

His voice grew more insistent as he added, "Do you really believe in the idea of some magical fruit that can give people superpowers? That's completely ridiculous!"

Pepper let out a deep, frustrated sigh, silently questioning why she had thought involving Happy in this venture was a good idea. But the truth was, transporting 100 kilograms of gold wasn't precisely a one-person job, nor was it safe to handle alone. She needed someone dependable to accompany her through the transaction, and Happy seemed like the perfect choice.

That was until he learned the details of her errand. Once he did, he went into full-blown protector mode, determined to shield her from what he saw as a colossal mistake. He was convinced his intervention was the only thing standing between Pepper and a lifetime of regret.

In Happy's mind, if he hadn't found out in time, Pepper's 100 kilograms of gold would have vanished into thin air, leaving her financially devastated and haunted by the memory of being swindled. The mere thought infuriated him—especially since the scammer had dared to target someone as smart and capable as Pepper Potts. It was both an audacious insult and an impressive feat.

But this con artist didn't know who they were dealing with. They were about to come face-to-face with Happy Hogan, a man who wasn't about to let Pepper be taken for a fool.

"Trust me, Pepper, I'm not letting you fall for this nonsense! I'll expose this fraud for what they really are!" Happy declared, puffing out his chest in a display of determination.

Pepper abruptly stopped in her tracks and whirled around to face him, her eyes flashing with irritation. "Happy!" she snapped. "I get that you're trying to protect me, and I do appreciate it. But can you please stop? Honestly, I'm starting to regret bringing you along. Do I look like someone who gets duped easily? I know exactly what I'm doing!"

Her voice softened slightly as she added, "Here's all I need from you: keep quiet and carry the gold inside when I ask you to. That's it—a small favor. Can you manage that?"

Without waiting for his response, Pepper turned on her heel and strode confidently into the shop, leaving Happy with no option but to follow, muttering under his breath.

Inside the shop, Rosh stood in his usual spot behind the counter, radiating his characteristic calm and quiet confidence. His presence, though understated, carried an air of mystery that seemed to fill the room.

"Good afternoon, Shopkeeper!" Pepper greeted him warmly, her voice cheerful as she approached the counter. "Still holding down the fort alone? Where are your employees?"

"Good afternoon, Pepper," Rosh replied with a polite smile. "Still just me here. It's a small shop, after all. Don't really need any extra hands."

Pepper couldn't help but chuckle inwardly at his modest reply. 'Small shop?' she thought. 'This 'small shop' is like nothing else in the world—it could give even Stark Industries a run for its money!'

Happy, however, was far less charmed by the scene. He stepped forward, his expression stern and his tone sharp.

"So, you're the so-called owner of this Devil Fruit shop?" he said, his voice laced with suspicion. "I don't know what kind of act you're putting on to fool Pepper, but I'm not falling for it. This whole 'Devil Fruit' thing is complete nonsense!" He crossed his arms and puffed out his chest, ready to confront what he believed was a scam in progress.

Pepper cringed, wishing she could disappear into thin air. She had expected Happy to be skeptical, but his bluntness was embarrassing all the same.

"Shopkeeper," she said with an apologetic smile, gesturing toward Happy, "this is Happy. He's… uh, a colleague and a friend."

Rosh responded with a faint smile and a slight nod, his expression unreadable. He didn't need an introduction to know who Happy was. Thanks to his finely honed Observation Haki, he had overheard every word of the heated exchange between Pepper and Happy outside.

Turning his gaze toward Happy, Rosh's eyes twinkled with a hint of amusement, though his demeanor remained calm.

'So,' Rosh thought to himself, 'You're here to expose a scam, are you? Let's see who ends up regretting their words.'

Happy, however, was just getting started, his indignation bubbling over like a kettle about to whistle.

"Young man," he barked, jabbing a finger in Rosh's direction, "I don't know what kind of game you're playing, but I'll get to the bottom of it. You tricked Pepper, but you're not fooling me! This so-called Devil Fruit nonsense is just a—mmph!"

Before he could finish, Rosh moved with lightning speed. Without so much as a word, he flicked a small object into Happy's mouth and clamped a firm hand over his face, forcing him to swallow it.

"Wha—what the hell are you doing?!" Happy spluttered as soon as Rosh let go, his voice a mix of fury and alarm. His eyes were wide with panic. "What did you just make me eat? Was that poison?! Are you trying to kill me?"

But before his accusations could escalate further, a strange sensation coursed through his body. It was unlike anything he had ever felt before.

He felt…different.

For a moment, Happy stood frozen, confusion etched across his face. Then, an absurd thought popped into his mind: 'Can I… turn into a dog?'

He quickly shook his head, dismissing the idea as ridiculous. After all, people don't just transform into animals! But as he glanced down at his hands, his heart nearly stopped.

Where his fingers had been, he now saw furry paws, complete with claws.

"What the—?!" Happy stammered, stumbling backward in sheer disbelief. His pulse raced as he stared at his newly transformed limbs.

He spun around and bolted toward a nearby mirror, desperate for answers. What he saw in the reflection made his stomach drop.

Staring back at him was a bizarre hybrid—a creature that was half-man, half-dog. His face was now covered in shaggy fur, floppy ears dangled from the sides of his head, and a snout jutted out where his nose had been.

"Oh my God…"

Happy's voice quivered as he tentatively raised a trembling paw to his elongated muzzle, his wide eyes filled with disbelief.

"Why… why do I look like a husky?!" he exclaimed, his voice breaking into a mixture of shock and panic.

Behind him, Pepper was frozen in place, her mouth slightly open as she struggled to process what she was witnessing. Meanwhile, Rosh stood calmly, his demeanor as composed as ever, though there was a faint hint of amusement in his expression.

"No… no, no, no!" he howled, his voice a blend of anguish and disbelief. "This can't be real!"

The howl echoed through the shop, a sound both pathetic and oddly fitting for his new canine form.
