Chapter 487: Gatling-Gun-Like Warden
While hiding in cover from a stone wall, the Warden didn't stop its relentless firing at the wall. It had an unlimited supply of bullets, with each suction gaining more and more to fire at Xu Feng.
So many instances appeared in which Xu Feng wanted to change his position, only to be spotted by the despicable Warden.
Once spotted, the Warden would immediately angle its Gatling gun and fired in that particular spot, clearly daring him to go ahead and run out in the open.
'Flint's shield isn't strong enough to deflect all bullets.' Xu Feng thought to himself, trying to calculate the best optimal options in his current plight.
Reinforcements won't be available since the others needed to quickly deal with the other Wardens. And he was positive that Carmen understood his objective when he confidently strode out to take aggro at this particular Warden.
However, what Xu Feng didn't know was that this sneaky Warden was actually the secret boss of them all.
The mere fact that it was capable of firing unlimited bullets at him meant that this Warden was capable of firing it at the backline from the start. Yet it didn't do anything of that and patiently waited for him to jump out.
'I wasn't pulling the aggro, but rather the prey that the Warden had been waiting for.' Xu Feng smiled bitterly at his miscalculation.
The raid's difficulty was truly different than the ones he recalled. The attributes were the same, but their adaptability was on a whole other level.
Having been pinned down in his current position, Xu Feng quickly covered his head when one of the areas of the wall got penetrated by the bullet, creating a small gap.
The incident was like a warning to Xu Feng that the wall couldn't withstand the barrage of firing much longer. Rather than worried about his timing running out, Xu Feng wished to thank the Warden for such a careless mistake.
Keeping his body low to avoid getting discovered, Xu Feng slowly crawled to the small gap and peeked at the Warden.
The Warden was still going strong as it had become an automated stationary turret. It was no longer moving and simply stationed itself to continuously fire wantonly. After all, once Xu Feng's cover was blown to bits, it effectively spelled doom for him.
Maybe the only blessing out of all this was the fact that the stone wall was constructed by another Warden. Otherwise, it could have easily manipulated the wall itself to split apart and expose him.
Each stone wall that was constructed had its own unique code, meaning only its creator could manipulate the walls and no one else could, even if they were the same species.
As for why the original creator couldn't manipulate the wall, it was currently being bombarded by Xu Feng's teammate, so how could it have its attention split?
Through the lenses of the small gap, Xu Feng's sharp eyes quickly honed in on a crucial detail: the Warden's other leg— the one that hadn't been converted into the deadly Chainsword, was clearly imbalanced.
The uneven transformation left the Warden standing on an unstable foundation.
After all, it hadn't reverted the Chainsword back to its original stone form, leaving the opposite leg to bear all the weight and pressure.
'How overbearing and confident. But that's where most geniuses experience downfall anyway.' Xu Feng inwardly sneered
This weakness was subtle, but in a battle where positioning and stability meant everything, it was a glaring vulnerability.
The imbalanced stance meant that the Warden couldn't properly ground itself, especially under heavy strain.
While the Warden seemed inherently focused on firing its morphed Gatling gun continuously, it failed to notice its leg had already shown signs of struggling to hold its full weight. The strain on the leg caused occasional wobbles and instability with each forceful movement or shift in direction.
"No wonder why the bullets' accuracy was getting lower and lower." He muttered softly. Most of the bullets' trajectories were scattered across, and their accuracy was even less than 10% in damaging the actual stone wall.
Unlimited firing had its limitations, and one of them was the severe loss of accuracy with each firing rate.
Even in a regular First-Person Shooter (FPS), no pro players would fire their gun rampantly without any aiming because of the RNG shot placement. Most of the time, they would only fire 1-3 shots max to ensure their accuracy remained high and precise.
'The Warden's strain is probably increasing by the seconds.' Xu Feng deduced that this leg wouldn't hold up well once it received external pressure in its current vulnerable state.
The Warden's heavy reliance on the powerful Chainsword had made it overlook the structural integrity of its stance, turning its usually formidable advantage into a potential liability.
With its weight unevenly distributed, the Warden lacked the strong foundation it would need to stay steady under sustained attacks or sudden shifts in movement.
"If exploited correctly, this Warden would be game over." Xu Feng mused, wondering how he could apply external pressure.
As he was in deep thought, he suddenly heard a chirping sound.
"Right, you're still here." He chuckled softly at Flint, who had been standing on his shoulder, constantly refreshing his stone shield to protect him.
Previously, Xu Feng had been focused on dodging and weaving, so he didn't have the time to properly utilize Flint in action.
It was also a stark reminder that when one had to personally experience the battle, their quick thinking would be minimized by a large margin. Experience more content on My Virtual Library Empire
Had it been him spectating or commanding by the side, then he would have already instructed them to use Flint to upheaval the Gatling-like Warden from the get-go.
"Yes, I can't believe such an easy solution was missed by me." Xu Feng rubbed on Flint's stony soft head as he knew why the latter had chirped at him.
Clearly, Flint wanted to disrupt the Warden a while ago but didn't dare to make any sudden move without permission from Xu Feng. It still respected him as the owner and master, so it wouldn't dare to act impulsively.
