Chapter 474: Revival Item
Once Xu Feng had revealed his plan briefly, there was one person who seemed extremely infuriated.
And it was none other than the person who got repeatedly tested, Iceheart.
She stood up and stomped on the ground heavily, her eyes flared up. "So you were reprimanding me throughout the entire time because you thought I was a saboteur?"
Xu Feng paused for a moment before nodding his head.
"Yup, sounds about right. I'm glad you realized now that I'm not really against your type of behavior. I mean like— there's bound to be some fool who loves your personality and chases after your skirt. It's just not going to be me." He shrugged innocently.
Iceheart: …
Ardent Lance: …
SilentWhisper: …
Even Carmen twitched her mouth in disbelief at her Guild Leader.
It would have totally been better if Xu Feng simply just nodded and left it as that.
Why did he feel the need to discuss her behavior or personality?
"You—" Infuriated, Iceheart pointed her fingers at him, only to realize Xu Feng had already turned his back to her and was moving to Zhao Kai's side.
With how nonchalant and attention Xu Feng had paid toward her, Iceheart wanted to find more Gargoyles to vent her frustration. Alas, the Cursed Gargoyles in this layer had already been eliminated by them with the help of Xu Feng's skill.
"I'll get my due justice once we're done with the raid." Iceheart gritted her teeth, rationality still taking priority in her mind. Xu Feng's role as the Cleric and Raid Leader was simply too important for her to physically make a move.
The time was not ripe yet.
Meanwhile, Carmen was rather speechless at this development as she started to ponder over whether she might have helped the devil.
'Couldn't the Guild Leader inform me beforehand of his suspicion?' She pursed her lips, but also couldn't fault him at the same time.
If she had known about all these complicated details, then she might have been extremely distracted and had her combat decreased by a large margin.
Just the mere thought that her back could be backstabbed constantly would inadvertently cause her to be sluggish in her fight and be consciously worried.
While she was feeling somewhat grateful for being in the dark, Xu Feng arrived next to Zhao Kai.
"So he chose not to use a revival item eh?" Xu Feng furrowed his brows and mused.
"Yeah, I even stomped on his corpse's face to provoke him to revive, but he had a pretty thick face." Zhao Kai responded and released his foot.
After releasing his foot though, Zhao Kai made a hawk tuah sound and spit on the corpse's face.
"Hmph, coward assassin. I know you're spectating me right now, but rest assured. You can remain in your state while I screenshot this scene." He added, preparing to snap numerous photos and post them in the Game Forum.
As for the expense required for the screenshot, Zhao Kai had no regret in spending them. It would be money well spent!
However, a brief second later when he was trying to get a good angle for the screenshot, the corpse started to move, nearly scaring the crap out of him.
"Oh damn, this little coward actually used a revival item?" Zhao Kai exclaimed in surprise.
And he continued, "Here I thought his face was truly thick and couldn't be bothered about any screenshot of his ugly face being spit on. I was sure all disgusting men like him loved to get spitted on."
"Just what kind of things have you been watching or reading?" Xu Feng subtly took a step back and asked in a disbelieving tone. How could he be so shameless to utter those without any pause?
A few seconds later, DeathLingers came back to life, his eyes glaring at Zhao Kai.
"What are you glaring at?" Zhao Kai snorted and crossed his arms. "Don't even try to frown or look pitiful. You don't deserve any of those expressions or emotions when you're one backstabbing, hideous, cowardly, and face smeared with spit man."
"You—" DeathLingers could no longer compose himself any further with the sharp insulting tongue from Zhao Kai.
However, he couldn't even advance a step before he was surrounded by Elementalists.
"I suggest you remain perfectly still." Carmen's voice resounded from behind.
"Otherwise, I won't be polite and turn you back into a corpse again." She continued, delivering a fierce and direct threat.
Silent, DeathLingers knew that it would be a pipe dream to get past Carmen and attack Zhao Kai.
After all, his eyes weren't blind enough to not see the power of Carmen which had far surpassed the current state of players.
'She's definitely advanced to Tier 1 already.' DeathLingers concluded. Aside from being Tier 1, he couldn't fathom how one could have such overwhelming attributes and power.
No, there was actually one exception.
'Guild Leader Lin Feng. His strength remains a complete mystery.' DeathLingers pursed his lips, feeling extremely helpless at this particular moment.
Not once had Xu Feng gone above the limit and displayed some amazing ability during the raid except for that terrifying aura of his that could even hinder his movement and decrease his attributes.
"Our Eternal Guild was wrong to accept this commission." Finally, DeathLingers smiled bitterly and admitted their wrong decision.
Before making his move, he had messaged DarkSage that the operation should be ceased, but DarkSage was resolute in proceeding with it.
DarkSage's authority was above his, so the order must be followed, but DeathLingers truly regretted making a move, especially when he listened to Xu Feng's clarification during his ghost-like form state.
'We have been trapped all along and he was just waiting for one slip-up.' DeathLingers inwardly sighed, realizing how ridiculous their operation was.
"So are you trying to say the threat from earlier didn't exist?" Xu Feng mused, his tone underlying a subtle coldness.
"That was my wrong choice of words and I'll accept any punishment from you. However, the Eternal Guild did not wish to become enemies with the Vanguard Guild. We are just a proxy, acting on behalf of the Reaver Guild." DeathLingers bowed his head and exclaimed.
