Yun’s mother simply couldn’t understand this. The brothers once were so close to each other. How could they suddenly change when trouble hit their family?

She used to perceive her mother as intellectual, virtuous, gentle, and considerate. However, this incident had totally changed her perspective.

Regardless of what his wife had done, in front of others,second brother always honor her wife. She knew this very well.
“But why haven’t they come to see Ahao? They are brothers, a clear explanation would settle the issue. Why haven’t they come?”
Yun’s mother kept dwelling on this, finding it hard to accept. They were brothers, why did they now appear as if they were strangers?
This made her, as a mother, feel terribly distressed.
“I understand why eldest and second sisters-in-law haven’t come. After the confrontation last time, things have become tense. They are also probably scared of Ahao, hence they dare not come.”
She paused before continuing, “Mother, things became so tense that reconciliation seems impossible at this point. With time, things will fade away.” Even though she knew that time would not erase all, it would just suppress them deep.
All of the Yun family children were educated, and Yun Shuang was supposed to start working in the factory when she was replaced by the village chief’s daughter.
Now Yun’s mother didn’t dare to step out of the house, fearing that she would be accused of favoritism, which she didn’t know where she’d shown.

She was worried that her mother was taking things too hard, tormenting herself.
She believed that her mother was only temporarily confused, unwittingly overlooking Hanhan’s feelings.
And that had escalated the misunderstanding.
Yun’s mother gave a wry smile, her face showing a hint of desolation, “At that time, I truly believed they were brothers…even though they were living apart, they were still brothers.”
She knew that as a tree grows, it branches out, but always considered them as brothers. The money send by Ahao for emergency uses, she thought they were all family and used it, considering we are all one family.
Yun Shuang knew her mother had reached a dead end. Could she still persuade her?
“Mother, from now on, you stop concerning yourself with the matters of eldest and second brother’s families. If in the future, eldest and second sister-in-law come for your help, do not bother. Just peacefully live your life.”
She didn’t know how to comfort people. If such situations had transpired on her, she might have done no better than her mother.
