Chapter 818: Chapter 812: Training Chu Xiaoqiao _1
After spending three days tinkering with her drafts, Qin Xue finally finished the design sketches for herself and An Hao. Looking at the two blueprints in her hand, she smiled contentedly.
“Are they done? Let me see.” When An Hao saw Qin Xue’s smile, she knew that Qin Xue was pleased with her work this time.
“Here.” Qin Xue handed over the sketches in response to An Hao’s words, then stretched lazily, turned around, and picked up her son. She had been so busy these past few days that, aside from breastfeeding, she hadn’t been able to cuddle her baby much. She felt guilty for neglecting him.
“Come here, honey. Let mommy hold you, Xue Ling, put the other one on my lap, too.” After picking up one child from the chair, Qin Xue told Xue Ling. She wanted to treat both her children equally.
“Seriously, can’t you hold them one at a time? You always want both at once. Be careful not to drop them.” Xue Ling said this but still placed the child on Qin Xue’s other leg, and then sat beside her on a stool, ready to catch the baby if Qin Xue couldn’t hold them.
“Xue Ling, isn’t that a bit much?” Qin Xue looked at Xue Ling speechlessly. Even if she happened to trip, she wouldn’t let the babies fall. If worse came to worst, she’d transport them into her magical space. She definitely wouldn’t let anything happen to them.
“I don’t trust you.” Xue Ling didn’t pay any attention to Qin Xue and continued to protect the babies nervously.
“To an outsider, it probably looks like you’re the real mom and I’m the wicked stepmother,” Qin Xue grumbled at Xue Ling’s behavior.
“That seems accurate. I have never seen such an uninvolved mother before.” Xue Ling wasn’t annoyed, she indeed thought that Qin Xue was neglectful. If it weren’t for her, she doubted the babies would have been taken care of at all.
The mistress was only concerned about her business. It was fortunate that she hadn’t forgot to feed her children yet, or else Xue Ling was afraid she would lose her temper.
“I’m uninvolved? I’m just trying to make their future lives better, am I not? Even if I didn’t hug them all the time, I kept them next to me. You’re exaggerating too much.” Qin Xue felt a bit wronged.
“Making excuses.” Xue Ling was not buying her reasoning at all. She simply wasn’t there for the children like a mother should be.
Qin Xue didn’t bother to argue with Xue Ling, knowing that Xue Ling wouldn’t understand her perspective. In Xue Ling’s mind, the children were top priority. Qin Xue felt the same, they just expressed it differently.
Qin Xue was grateful for Xue Ling’s loyalty to her children. So, she planned to make Xue Ling some delicious food in return.
“Xue Ling, how about I make you your favorite spicy lobster dumplings and braised spiritual mouse?” Yesterday, Qin Xue brought out two food items from her inventory. She originally wanted to take out some crabs as well, but because An Hao and Xiaoqiao were regularly eating at her place these days, she was worried that An Hao would want to eat the crab. So, she only took out spiritual mouse and the lobster dumplings.
“You mean it? I want lots!” Xue Ling was thrilled at the news. These were the foods she craved in her dreams.
“You can have as much as you want.” Qin Xue thought that Xue Ling, like a child, could be easily pleased with food. It might be because animals’ thoughts were less complicated than those of humans.
After cuddling the twins for a while, Qin Xue put them in their cribs to sleep. She then took Xiaoqiao into the kitchen to assist her. Preparing the meal would take too long if she did it alone. Cooked food always tasted better when one had a hand in making it. While cooking, Qin Xue intentionally taught Xiaoqiao some cooking skills that her grandmother had passed down to her.
The more Qin Xue hung out with Xiaoqiao, the more she realized that the young woman was somewhat unruly. Qin Xue thought about using cooking, something Xiaoqiao enjoyed, to help her mature. It would be okay if Xiaoqiao found a good man in the future. However, if she didn’t, life would be tough for her. So it was good to help her now.
