Chapter 817: Chapter 811: Writing a letter to Qin Xue_1

Fang Xiu took a few steps ahead with her son without interrupting the siblings, instead, she went to Qin Yu’s shop.

“Xiao Yu,” Fang Xiu called softly as she saw Qin Yu sketching.

“Fang Xiu, what brings you here? Taotao, come to uncle.” Qin Yu asked as he looked up and saw Fang Xiu.

“Nothing serious, I just brought Taotao out for some air. I realized it’s been a while since I last contacted your sister, so I came to ask if she’s sent any letters.” Fang Xiu recalled what Qin Xue had said about visiting her if ever she was tired.

“There was a letter a while ago, she said she was doing well and had finally settled down in a place. Didn’t she write to you?” Qin Yu shared after recalling his sister’s words.

“Not that I know of, she might be too busy with the move to write,” Fang Xiu shook her head.

“Could be the case, are you here to ask for her address so you can write her?” That was the only reason Qin Yu could imagine why Fang Xiu would visit him.

“Yes, can I have it?” Fang Xiu smiled, verifying the saying that a human’s whereabouts were indeed dictated by their inner compass.

“Sure, wait a moment. I’ll go fetch it.” Qin Yu returned Taotao back to Fang Xiu, then went back to his room. In no time, he returned with an envelope, sat in his original spot and began to write.

“Fang Xiu, this is my sister’s address. There you go.” Qin Yu handed the written address to Fang Xiu.

“Thank you, Xiao Yu.” Fang Xiu smiled at Qin Yu as she put the address in her pocket.

“No need to be so polite. You and my sister are close, you’re like a sister to me.” Qin Yu waved his hand dismissing her formality.

“Alright, I will get going. I don’t want to interrupt your studies.” Fang Xiu knew he was taking night classes on top of running his business, he must have been exhausted.

“Take care, Fang Xiu.” Qin Yu did not insist on her stay, for if others were to see, gossip would surely follow. He, a grown man, could deal with that. Fang Xiu’s reputation, however, should not be compromised.

By the time Fang Xiu got back, Jing Yuan had already left. Jing Xin spotted her teaching her son to walk by the door just as he thought of going out to find her.

“Why are you still outside?” Jing Xin reached to hold Fang Xiu, but she subtly avoided his touch by using their son as a shield. For some reason, she didn’t want him to touch her with the same hand he had used on Jing Yuan. It felt suffocating.

Jing Xin, who was looking at his son held in his arms, thought it was his son who wanted to be held and didn’t notice his wife’s discontent.

“I brought Taotao out to have some fresh air, and now he wants to play outside so why not. Why are you home at this hour?” Fang Xiu asked her husband.

“Training went well today, so I gave the guys a two-hour break. I missed you and our son, so I decided to come home. I’ll be leaving soon though.” Jing Xin replied, smiling gently at his wife. But visualizing him smiling at Jing Yuan the same way earlier made Fang Xiu feel irritable.

“You should head back to training before you’re late.” Fang Xiu subtly tried to rush him away.

“Alright, just remember to eat and take care of your health.” Jing Xin complied, believing that his wife was genuinely concerned about him being tardy.

It’s hard to tell whether Jing Xin’s obliviousness or Fang Xiu’s sensitivity was more appropriate. Either way, they both failed to understand what the other truly meant, leaving Fang Xiu feeling unfinished.

After watching her husband leave, Fang Xiu returned to the room and wrote a letter to Qin Xue, stating her wish to visit for a few days in the near future. She wrote that she would get a reliable person to look after the store and Qin Xue need not worry. She didn’t mention anything else.

After completing the letter, Fang Xiu waited until noon to mail it, as it was usually less busy in the store at that time.
