Chapter 541 The Birth of a Lord of the Kingdom (4)

541  The Birth of a Lord of the Kingdom (4)

A scroll with the signatures of the 6 Heirs and their territories made this ceremony possible.

Normally, there would be no suspense, but among the people present, a strange little suspense was raised. Egon Edevane's insistence on knowing the signatories was strange, considering that the answer should be obvious.

There shouldn't be anything strange behind it, but now there seemed to be.

And Frederick didn't keep them waiting.

He said the names of Jack Allen and Alice Allen, whose signature was permissive and represented a territory that in the future would be under her command, something that could naturally be done. After that, the signatures of Frederick Murphy's eldest son, Wilfred Murphy, and Sophia Murphy were forceful in the resolution, revealing that the two clans were unanimous in their support.

The fifth signature was no surprise, for that fellow was present, the signature of Liam Wagner himself, a man of incredible status among the Heirs, because of his good talent for the spear and his unusual way of being, something uncommon in vampires.

After saying all these signatures, everything was going according to the norm.

But there was a drastic change, which made Egon and Cynfael pale.

"Sixth Signatory in favor of the consecration of Matthew Dietrich as Lord of the Kingdom, by request of the same person: Cecily Edevane and her territory are fully in favor, her signature being granted on one condition: she wants to meet Matthew Dietrich, at least once."

"Matthew Dietrich's enshrinement is inevitable with the 6 Signatures of the Heirs and the 3 Seals of the Vampire Clans."

Frederick, this time, was forceful in what he was reading and stared at Egon and Cynfael.

"One more interruption and I will be forced to make you kiss the ground, Egon, Cynfael, and Richter. So I expect you to be silent and watch the ceremony. I am unafraid of any of your Clans, and my Clan Murphy will advocate in this situation as the mediator to deal with the idiots who want to continue to oppose a sacred ritual."

His words had long since stunned many of those present. Moreover, the signature and seal were visible, so everyone should believe it.

Cecily Edevane, the current most powerful and respected heir, was among the signatories to bestow such an award on Matthew Dietrich; at her own request!

But even Matthew was stunned by this. He wasn't aware of all the signatories. In fact, he hadn't expected Liam Wagner and his clan to agree. How could he expect Cecily Edevane, a dangerous woman he had never encountered, to agree?

'What's going on? Is she planning something? I originally thought she belonged to her clan's faction, but from Egon Edevane's reaction, she doesn't seem to be.' He frowned.

Perhaps Cecily had a different plan than his clan, and his inability to meet her or learn much about her told him that plan could very well be against him.

Still, he had nothing to do. 'Eventually, we will fight, Cecily Edevane. I wonder if you're doing this to hasten that encounter or if you're doing it with other intentions.' He smiled.

After that, no one spoke again, so Frederick decided to end the ceremony under Egon's gaze.

Matthew smiled and finally did what he had to do. Soon, the Frozen Staff was in his hand, and this one felt a little familiar from the coldness that overflowed.

'It's a saint weapon.' He thought to himself, amazed. It looked like he couldn't use it because it seemed to be locked.

Frederick, after that, did some protocol stuff, and at the end, he nodded at Matthew.

"That is the key to the Kingdom, Young Lord. You will now be able to see some things that even the King cannot see. You have the power to the treasury and all the places in the kingdom, so you are free to move about as you wish. The bottom tip of the Frozen Staff has a ring on it. Please put it on; from now on that will be your seal. It's a royal seal, more important than the king's, so you can do whatever you want with that seal."

Matthew nodded toward him. 'Keys to the kingdom, eh.' He smiled.

Naturally, this kind of rank he needed for various things he's been doing and developing lately. With this, forget about controlling the entire underworld of the Dark Kingdom; it will be easy to enter the other kingdoms' terrain and implant the seeds there.

He did not want to make moves that were not planned. It took him some time to shape his plan, and using his power, he will be able to make that plan a success, starting by controlling the entire underworld.

'Now all that's left is for these guys to fall for the provocation.' He thought, looking at Egon, Cynfael, and Richter—especially the latter.

'Cecily...' Egon was somewhere between angry, confused, embarrassed, and puzzled. He couldn't understand why his daughter had done it.

Still, he knew he was in front of a lot of people, so he finally looked at Matthew and gave him a forced smile.

"Congratulations to the new Lord of the Kingdom. I hope our new pillar is worthy of the title." Immediately after, he turned and left without another word.

Cynfael did the same while Leader Becker left without another sound. King Richter also congratulated him, but he stayed as a normal guest.

After a huge round of congratulations, Matthew said a few words as protocol—nothing too much—and the ceremony ended after about two hours.

Matthew and many more went to have a celebratory ceremony, but nothing noteworthy.

On the other side of the Dark Kingdom, when Egon returned to the family home, he was angry.

News spreads fast these days, so the news that Cecily Edevane had signed that agreement hit his desk soon after, causing him to explode in anger—not just at himself but also at his colleagues.

Because now the question that arose was... Was Clan Edevane allied with Clan Allen?

For the great powers, this could be: did the Edevane Clan bow to the Allen Clan? Which was a sign of weakness.

Naturally, he was enraged.
