Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Pidgeotto Is In Hand
Pokémon Center Teleporter.
"Grandpa, I'll leave Scizor and Alakazam in your care," Gary said.
"Don't worry, I'll take good care of them," Professor Oak replied with a smile. He was pleased that Gary was pursuing the elite route, but it seemed like Gary was teleporting Pokémon to him all too often.
In less than a month, Gary had teleported four Pokémon in succession. After sending Blastoise back, Gary immediately checked whether Blastoise had undergone any changes during the period.
[Pokémon: Blastoise♂]
[Attribute: Water]
[Level: LV39]
[Potential: Champion]
[Ability: Torrent (When physical strength decreases, the power of Water Type moves will increase.)]
[Skills: Tackle, Tail Whip, Water Gun, Shell Shrink, Rapid Spin, Water Pulse, Protect, Rain Dance, Shell Smash, Flash Cannon, Hydro Pump.]
[Professor Level: Water Stream Burst, Mega Kick.]
[Intimacy: 255 (maximum 255)]
[Carrying Items: Top-quality Mystic Water]
Blastoise's level had risen from 37 to 39. As expected from a Pokémon with Champion potential, it leveled up quickly. Although no new racial skills were awakened, it didn't matter. Blastoise had already unlocked all of its available racial skills. The only useful skills left, Iron Defense and Wave Charge, wouldn't improve Blastoise much. Gary had considered teaching Blastoise Ice Beam, but there was no place to do so.
In fact, to teach Pokémon new skills, you had to find a Skill Master. This process was not only expensive but didn't guarantee that the skill would be successfully taught.
"Then Gary, work hard. I'm going to study Scizor and Alakazam," Professor Oak said, hanging up the phone and heading to the lab.
"Really, I don't know how many times I've studied these types of Pokémon. It gets repetitive," Gary muttered. Professor Oak wasn't a rookie. He had studied nearly every Pokémon, even Legendary ones. Yet, whenever a new Pokémon appeared, he couldn't resist studying it, even if it was a duplicate of something he had already researched.
Gary quickly entered a code into the teleporter to make a call. The screen flickered, and a face appeared.
"Mr. Gary, Ms. Sabrina, long time no see," Ishibashi greeted, smiling at the screen.
"Long time no see, Mr. Ishibashi. Could you please teleport the Pokémon over?" Gary asked.
"Of course, your Pokémon are all ready." Ishibashi smiled and held up two Poké Balls. "I'll send Pidgeotto over first."
Soon, Gary received the Poké Ball and checked Pidgeotto's attributes.
[Pokémon: Pidgeotto♂]
[Attribute: Normal, Flying]
[Level: 28]
[Potential: Quasi-Elite]
[Ability: Sharp Eyes (Thanks to Sharp Eyes, the hit rate will not be reduced.)]
[Skills: Tackle, Sand Attack, Gust, Quick Attack, Twister, Feather Dance.]
[Intimacy: 70 (max value 255)]
It really did have Quasi-Elite potential. Ishibashi was extremely generous. While Pidgeotto was an ordinary Pokémon, its Quasi-Elite potential made it worth about 1 million. However, its low intimacy suggested it was most likely captured from the wild, using methods that Pidgeotto didn't appreciate.
"Next up is Slowpoke, Mr. Gary. Please receive it." Ishibashi reminded Gary.
Gary pressed the transmission button and received Slowpoke. After taking the Poké Ball and handing it to Sabrina, he checked its attributes.
[Pokémon: Slowpoke♂]
[Attribute: Water, Psychic]
[Level: 26]
[Potential: Quasi-Elite]
[Ability: Doing My Own Thing (Due to its independent nature, Slowpoke won't be shaken by intimidation or chaotic conditions.)]
[Skills: Water Gun, Confusion, Identity, Water Pulse, Mind Hammer.]
[Intimacy: 100 (max value 255)]
This Slowpoke was really impressive. Though it hadn't awakened many skills, those it had were all highly practical. Sabrina took the Poké Ball and released Slowpoke directly.
"Great!" she exclaimed.
The Slowpoke appeared, but it looked a bit different from others. While it still had the usual dull expression, there was an unmistakable air of defiance about it. It looked around and recognized Sabrina holding its Poké Ball, so it understood it had been sent to her.
"Damned!" Slowpoke grumbled under its breath.
"You want to fight me?" Sabrina asked, surprised.
"Damned!" Slowpoke nodded defiantly. Unlike the usual Slowpoke, this one was much more independent and didn't like weak Trainers.
"Okay, let's go out and fight," Sabrina said, without hesitation.
To Gary's surprise, Sabrina used her Psychic powers to Teleport them to an open area outside. Gary had not expected Sabrina to use Psychic like that.
Slowpoke, still confused, didn't react immediately. It was just relieved they were in a more suitable place to fight.
"Stop!" Slowpoke suddenly yelled at Sabrina, signaling for her to release the Pokémon.
"No need," Sabrina replied calmly. "I'll be your rival."
"Stop!" Slowpoke seemed even more confused. Usually, when humans captured Pokémon, they would release their own Pokémon to fight. But this human was asking to fight with it directly?
"Stop!" Slowpoke shouted again and launched a Water Gun attack at Sabrina. Sabrina's beautiful eyes glowed with blue light, and an invisible psychic barrier blocked the Water Gun effortlessly.
"Stop!!" Slowpoke was stunned. It could feel the overwhelming psychic force from Sabrina. Why could a human do this? The humans it had encountered before had no such abilities.
Sabrina, unfazed, continued using her Psychic powers to control Slowpoke. It attempted to resist using its own Confusion, but it was futile—Sabrina's Confusion was far stronger. Slowpoke could do nothing but be lifted into the air and slammed onto the ground repeatedly. After more than twenty hits, it fainted.
"I'm done. How about you?" Sabrina asked, returning Slowpoke to its Poké Ball.
Gary stood frozen, eyes wide. He was speechless.
Did she really just beat him up like that?
