Just as the blue streamer was about to hit, a Jumpluff suddenly appeared in front of Skarmory and Carr, blocking the attack entirely.

The azure streak dispersed, revealing Greninja. The "blue streamer" was simply the result of Greninja's incredible speed as it moved like a water torrent.

"Razor Leaf!" a deep voice suddenly rang out.

The Jumpluff, which had intercepted Greninja's attack, spun around and unleashed countless turquoise, scimitar-shaped leaves. They rained down in a frenzied, cutting assault.

Greninja, mid-air with no foothold, crossed its arms to shield itself. However, the defense proved futile as the Razor Leaf barrage shredded the Substitute.

With a "boom," Greninja vanished in a puff of smoke. It had only been a decoy.

The real Greninja stood calmly beside Chris.

Chris was watching the skies.

Above, alongside Carr's Skarmory, hovered another group of Pokémon. A cluster of Hoppip, with ropes tied to their bodies, towed a hot-air balloon. Inside the basket stood a Frankenstein-like giant gripping a Shuckle in one massive hand, his expression blank.

"Ariana is very displeased," the giant said, his deep voice resonating.

"I know! I was careless!" Carr argued loudly. "That guy didn't fight fair and ambushed me—me, a seven-year-old child! Give me more time, and I'll take care of him!"

The giant, unimpressed, patted the side of his basket. "Let's finish him off together."

He descended to the ground, landing in front of Chris.

Carr muttered under his breath, "Hmph, I'll do it alone," but he obediently followed suit. Skarmory circled downward, preparing for the joint attack.

Chris observed the Frankenstein-like man standing before him. If he wasn't mistaken, this was Orm, the last member of the infamous Three Beasts.

"Another one," Chris muttered coldly, but his attention remained on the scene behind him.

During Chris and Carr's battle, the red Gyarados had been thoroughly overpowered. Half of its massive body lay in the Lake of Rage, while the other half slumped onto the ground. Under the relentless barrage of Rock Slide, it had finally lost the ability to fight.

A Premier Ball flew from Chris's pocket, and Gardevoir used Confusion to return the red Gyarados to the ball. Too exhausted to resist, the Gyarados was successfully recalled without struggle.

Gardevoir teleported the Premier Ball back into Chris's hand.

Chris glanced at the stats on the panel:

Gyarados (Water, Flying)

Level: 70

Ability: Moxie (Increases Attack by one stage after defeating a Pokémon)

Individual Values: Stamina (31), Attack (31), Special Attack (22), Defense (30), Special Defense (31), Speed (31)

Moves: Crunch, Twister, Whirlpool, Ice Fang, Brine, Waterfall, Aqua Tail, Rain Dance, Dragon Dance, Hydro Pump, Hurricane, Thrash, Hyper Beam, Dragon Breath, Dragon Rush

Held Item: Dragon Fang

Four perfect stats—nearly five. To Chris's surprise, this Gyarados even knew Dragon Rush, a move it can't learn. Perhaps it really was a Totem Pokémon after all.

Considering its level and power, capturing such a Gyarados was nearly impossible for any non-Legendary Water Pokémon.

With the Premier Ball secured, Chris planned to adjust Gyarados as his new airborne companion, temporarily solving his need for a Flying mount.

The red Gyarados was not entirely under Chris's control.

Chris glanced at his quest panel. Despite having subdued the red Gyarados, the quest had not been completed.

The crisis wasn't over yet.

Standing before him were Orm and Carr, two of Team Rocket's notorious Three Beasts. If Orm and Carr managed to defeat Chris, they could easily release the red Gyarados and continue their rampage in Mahogany Town.

But Chris had no intention of letting that happen.

Step by step, Tyranitar emerged from behind him. At the same time, Gardevoir teleported into position behind Chris, bringing Garchomp, Blaziken, and Wobbuffet to the battlefield. Steelix was also brought out. A formidable team of Pokémon now stood by Chris's side.

In stark contrast, Orm had only his Jumpluff at the ready, while Carr sat perched alone on Skarmory's back. It was almost ironic—Chris, surrounded by his powerful Pokémon, looked more like the villain in this scene.

The truth was clear: Orm and Carr had already squandered their best opportunity to defeat Chris while most of his Pokémon were preoccupied battling the red Gyarados. Now, their chances of victory were slim to none.

Orm leaped from the basket of the hot air balloon, his expression rigid. He watched as Chris captured the red Gyarados but made no move to stop him. His wooden demeanor barely shifted as he raised his hand and snapped his fingers.

"Jumpluff, Sunny Day!" he commanded.

"Oh!"

Jumpluff, its fluffy, blue spherical body bouncing, waved its stubby arms like a Venonat's antennae. It formed a massive ball of light and hurled it skyward. The overcast skies of Mahogany Town cleared almost instantly, replaced by a blazing sun that shone fiercely, as though attempting to evaporate the Lake of Rage itself.

With the red Gyarados gone, Jumpluff's Sunny Day easily overpowered the previous rain. But Orm had failed to consider one thing.

Chris's Tyranitar was already in position.

Even against a Level 70 red Gyarados, Tyranitar had dominated the weather. Much like the legendary battle between Groudon and Kyogre, it had masterfully asserted control.

Could Orm's Jumpluff hope to wrest control of the weather from Tyranitar?

No. It didn't have that kind of power.

The sunlight was quickly obscured by swirling yellow sand as Tyranitar unleashed its Sandstorm ability. In moments, the battlefield was enveloped in a kilometer-wide sandstorm—a mobile natural disaster, true to Tyranitar's title as the Desert Tyrant.

"Impressive!" Chris chuckled. His prized items—Smooth Rock and Hard Stone—weren't just for show. They bolstered Tyranitar's Sandstorm, strengthening it to a level unmatched by most Pokémon. Tyranitar was a force of nature, commanding the elements with unparalleled might.

Orm's wooden expression finally cracked, his thick brows knitting in frustration. Sunny Day had failed, rendering Jumpluff's Chlorophyll ability useless.

Undeterred, Orm threw out two additional Poké Balls. With a flash of light, a Level 64 Victreebel and a Level 64 Exeggutor appeared.

Carr, not to be outdone, joined in by releasing two more Pokémon—Level 62 Weavile and Level 60 Kingler.

Jumpluff, Victreebel, Exeggutor, Weavile, Kingler, and Skarmory—Orm and Carr's combined forces stood ready to face Chris's lineup.

The air was thick with tension. A climactic battle was about to begin.
