Pokemon: Rising From The Dark

Chapter 95: I'll Remember You!

Aoki walked to a row of computers in the guild hall.

Here is where the Hunter's Guild releases missions. Each hunter can use his own identity card to pick up the corresponding mission. There is a person sitting in front of each computer.

Luck is good. When Aoki was approaching, one person was using up and left without holding his card.

Sitting on a chair in front of the computer, swiping the identity card just received on a special card reader, and the computer screen starts to change display.

Hunter: JOKER

Hunter Points: Zero

Rating: Sporadic

Task Completion Rate: None

Note: You are just a novice, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and catch Pokémon!

"..."

Looking at the final comment, Aoki was a little speechless. The Hunter's Guild always liked to add strange messages.

Clicking the mouse to open the task bar, tens of thousands of sporadic tasks appeared all at once.

Quests in the Hunter's Guild cannot be accepted until they meet the star rating.

Aoki had just registered and was only a sporadic hunter, so the tasks available were limited to sporadic ones.

Sporadic tasks are generally simple, with small corresponding rewards.

To accept high-star missions, the hunter level must be increased.

The Hunter's Guild controls the hunter star rating based on hunter points, and hunter points are judged by the value of captured Pokémon.

For example, if a hunter captures a Pokémon worth 100,000 Pokecoins and submits the corresponding task, the hunter will get 100,000 hunter points.

Hunter points correspond to hunter stars: one star corresponds to 100,000 points, two stars to 500,000 points, three stars to 1.5 million, and four stars to five million points...

As the star rating increases, ranking up becomes more difficult, but the rewards also increase significantly.

The role of points in the Hunter's Guild is equivalent to Pokecoins. After submitting a task, a hunter not only receives Pokecoins but also points of equal value, which can be exchanged for Pokémon or items of equal worth directly in the Hunter's Guild.

This is the main reason Aoki wanted to register as a Pokémon Hunter with the Hunter's Guild.

However, this does not mean the Hunter's Guild loses money—on the contrary, the sheer number of captured Pokémon each year ensures massive profits. Aside from the League and Team Rocket, the Hunter's Guild is one of the most profitable organizations.

From the division of hunter stars, it's clear that level and strength aren't directly linked. If lucky, a hunter can rank up quickly.

Aoki carefully browsed the task list. There were plenty of sporadic tasks, but Aoki kept in mind his Shadow task, so he focused on Pokémon that could be encountered while completing it.

In the end, Aoki chose a relatively difficult task from the sporadic missions.

Sporadic Mission: Capture a Nidoran with a medium or higher rating. The higher the rating, the higher the reward!

Nidoran... If Aoki remembered correctly, there were several small Nidoqueens and Nidokings in the wild near Saffron City. If searched carefully, a good Nidoran could be found.

The idea was to earn some extra money while completing the Shadow task.

After all, as Pokémon levels increased, more resources were required. Despite having over a million Pokecoins, that amount was barely enough for proper Pokémon training.

Clicking to accept the task, the task disappeared from the list, and a new entry appeared under Aoki's identity information.

Mission: Capture Nidoran (in progress...)

Logging off the system and retrieving the card.

After Aoki left the computer, the person waiting behind immediately sat down and looked at the tasks.

Aoki pulled the hood over his head. After tidying up his clothes slightly, he walked toward the teleportation hall.

As Aoki turned to leave, a gaze remained fixed on him. There was no need to guess who it was.

Yang Dou had been sitting on the sofa silently, but when Aoki was about to leave, he opened his eyes, glancing toward the teleportation array Aoki was heading toward.

Aoki proceeded toward one of the three teleportation arrays available to sporadic hunters. The corners of his mouth lifted slightly as he swiped his identity card on the card reader. With a faint glow, the teleportation array activated.

As Aoki started the teleportation, Yang Dou stood up. After confirming Aoki's choice, a cold smile appeared on his face.

He had always been Rose's number-one suitor, but she had ignored him. His repressed anger had found the perfect outlet. Aoki's indifference only fueled his need for a brutal kill to vent his frustration.

Older members of the Hunter's Guild, aware of Yang Dou's personality, felt sympathy for Aoki.

Though Aoki hadn't revealed his strength, just looking at the Murkrow on his shoulder made it clear he wasn't strong enough to resist Yang Dou, an elite-level hunter.

Additionally, hunters possess unique tracking methods, so the black robe Aoki wore was meaningless to Yang Dou. He didn't need appearances to track his target.

A flash of white light, and Aoki vanished from the Hunter's Guild hall.

Yang Dou's smirk widened as he stepped into the same teleportation array, swiping his golden identity card across the reader.

Aoki appeared through a teleportation array inside a tree hollow. This was the destination of the Hunter's Guild teleportation network.

Typically, the Hunter's Guild teleportation arrays are spread across different forests. Higher-ranking hunters can access more arrays and travel farther. As a sporadic hunter, Aoki's teleportation was limited to a small forest outside Saffron City.

Over time, the Hunter's Guild moves teleportation arrays to prevent tracking by the League.

However, within a short time frame, teleportation destinations remain the same, allowing Yang Dou to follow Aoki immediately.

"Come out, Slowpoke!" Aoki called as he stepped out of the tree hollow, releasing Slowpoke.

At that moment, a white light appeared again in the tree hollow, and a tall figure slowly emerged.

"We meet again!" Yang Dou sneered, spotting Aoki nearby.

"Slowpoke, use Teleport!" Aoki smirked before giving the command.

Slowpoke activated its psychic powers, and Aoki's figure distorted slightly.

"Damn it! Come out, Houndoom! Use Flamethrower!" Yang Dou's expression changed as he tossed out a Pokeball.

"I'll remember you, Yang Dou!" Aoki's hoarse voice carried a hint of coldness as he disappeared, leaving only his words behind.
