Chapter 128: Chapter 127 Arrival of the Ice General

(A/N: Thank You So Much Aaron For Joining Silver Tier It Really Means Alot To Me )

A day later, Admiral Kuzan's warship was nearing the renowned G8 Naval Base.

"General, the G8 base is just ahead," reported the lieutenant.

"Oh, already?" Kuzan, also known as Admiral Aokiji, removed his blindfold and gazed ahead. His eyes widened slightly at the sight before him—a massive, luxurious fortress that outshone even Marineford in its grandeur.

"Are you sure this is the G8 base? It looks more like the new Marine Headquarters," Kuzan said, disbelief evident in his usually laid-back tone.

"Yes, General," the lieutenant confirmed. "Since its reconstruction, many officers and even vice admirals have scrambled to serve here."

"Hmm… I'm starting to feel jealous," Kuzan muttered with a hint of a smirk before his expression turned serious.

"What's wrong, General?" the lieutenant asked, noting the sudden shift in his demeanor.

"I can sense it... a sword. It's impossibly sharp," Kuzan replied, his gaze fixed on the base ahead.

"A sword?" The lieutenant squinted in confusion, seeing nothing out of the ordinary.

"There's a strong presence here," Kuzan continued, more to himself. "Feels like I'm not even needed anymore."

Though he hadn't seen him yet, Kuzan recognized the aura. It could only belong to one man: Dracule Mihawk, the world's greatest swordsman.

As the warship closed the distance, a voice suddenly echoed across the deck.

"You're absolutely needed, Admiral Kuzan. We're glad to have you."

"Who's there?!" The lieutenant and the crew instinctively reached for their weapons, but when they turned and saw Satoru—Admiral White Dragon—their tension eased.

"General White Dragon!" they greeted in unison, saluting the young admiral whose exploits against the Four Emperors had become legendary.

"They've even roped in the world's greatest swordsman. Do you really need me here, Admiral White Dragon?" Kuzan asked, his tone lazy but laced with curiosity.

"Of course, Admiral Kuzan," Satoru replied with a grin. "Our enemy is a Yonko. We can't afford to be careless."

"Even with your strength, you're still unsure of victory?" Kuzan asked, narrowing his eyes.

"It's not about me, Admiral Kuzan," Satoru admitted. "Big Mom is no ordinary opponent. Last time, I only won because of specific circumstances. Now that she's at full strength, I can't guarantee the same outcome. And honestly..." He gestured to the sprawling base in front of them. "It would be a shame if this fortress got destroyed."

"So that's why I'm here... to keep the battlefield away from your precious base," Kuzan concluded, rubbing his neck.

"Let's call it teamwork," Satoru said with a grin.

By the time Kuzan's warship docked, the soldiers of the G8 base had assembled in neat rows, their polished uniforms gleaming in the sun.

"Welcome, Admiral Kuzan! Your presence brings great honor to our base!" they shouted in perfect unison.

Kuzan's face twitched. This kind of exaggerated welcome was exactly what he'd expect from someone as unorthodox as Satoru.

"Isn't it great to be so warmly welcomed?" Satoru asked, clearly enjoying Kuzan's discomfort.

The Admiral sighed. "I should've sent Kizaru in my place. He'd thrive in this chaos."

As the formalities ended, life at the G8 base resumed its rhythm. Soldiers trained, patrolled, and prepared for the looming threat of the Big Mom Pirates.

Later, Kuzan encountered Dracule Mihawk in the base. The two powerhouses sized each other up, the air between them heavy with unspoken tension.

"So, this is the world's greatest swordsman," Kuzan said casually.

"And this is Admiral Aokiji," Mihawk replied, his tone equally cool.

"You're strong," Kuzan said.

"And you're not bad yourself," Mihawk replied, neither breaking eye contact.

The tension grew thicker until Satoru intervened. "Alright, you two, let's not forget we're all on the same side. How about sharing what you're best at so we can coordinate better?"

Both men turned to Satoru, their gazes filled with mild annoyance.

"You want us to explain what we're good at?" Kuzan said, raising an eyebrow.

"Are you serious?" Mihawk added, his sharp gaze cutting through the air.

"Well, I—"

Kuzan cut him off, pointing to Satoru's head. "I think you've got a few screws loose, White Dragon."

Mihawk nodded in agreement. "He's not wrong."

Ignoring their jabs, Satoru asked, "How about a drink instead?"

"Now you're talking," Kuzan said, his tone relaxing.

Mihawk gave a small nod. "Agreed."

The two walked off together, leaving Satoru behind. He scratched his head, watching them go.

"Did they just insult me and then bond over drinks?" he muttered.
