Chapter 174: Chapter 174 DURMS

After a moment of silence, Kai spoke slowly, "You... want to get out of here?"

The moment the words left his mouth, the surrounding pirates fell silent. No one said a word.

Kai raised an eyebrow, intrigued. The prisoners on Level 6 were different from those on the upper floors. These pirates were proud, arrogant, and not easily swayed. Even when offered freedom, they wouldn't immediately abandon their pride like the pirates above.

After a while, a cold, low voice broke the silence. "State your terms, Demon King Kai."

Kai turned toward the voice and saw a familiar figure staring back at him. A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.

"Oh, Crocodile. Long time no see."

"Cut the small talk. What do you want in exchange for letting us out?" Crocodile replied calmly.

From Kai's tone, Crocodile could tell there were conditions. Kai wasn't the type to offer freedom for free.

"Simple," Kai said. "Agree to come with me to Marineford and cause some chaos, and I'll let you out."

The situation had deviated too much from the original timeline. Kai couldn't guarantee that Marineford's defenses would be the same as before. The World Government was likely involved, and rescuing Robin and Ace wouldn't be easy.

In the original timeline, the Whitebeard Pirates had struggled against Marineford's forces. Despite their strength, they'd taken heavy losses, while Marine admirals like Akainu, Aokiji, and Kizaru had barely broken a sweat. The Shichibukai had also been more of a nuisance than a real threat.

The truth was, Whitebeard's age had weakened him significantly. Kai needed more firepower if he was going to pull this off.

He glanced around at the pirates. Crocodile, Jinbe, Shiryu, Catarina Devon, Wolf—these were all notorious figures with immense strength. If he could rally them, the odds would shift in his favor.

As for whether they'd keep their word? Kai wasn't worried. Anyone who tried to double-cross him would regret it.

"So, what's your answer?" Kai asked, his voice calm but firm.

"I'll do it," Crocodile said without hesitation. Going to Marineford was a small price to pay for freedom.

"I'm in too. I can't just sit back while Ace is in danger," Jinbe said, stepping out of the shadows.

"Count me in."

"Me too."

One by one, the pirates agreed. Kai's lips curled into a smile. Even the most hardened criminals yearned for freedom.

He released those who agreed, and soon, the sixth floor was filled with the presence of some of the most dangerous pirates in the world. The air was thick with tension and anticipation.

"Hahaha! Finally out! And we're going to Marineford? This is going to be fun!" one pirate laughed.

But not everyone was on board. A rough voice cut through the excitement. "Marineford? No thanks. I'm not following some kid's orders."

Kai turned to see a burly man with a sneer on his face. It was Byrnndi World, also known as the "World Destroyer."

"You're Byrnndi World, right?" Kai asked, his tone neutral.

"That's right. And since you know who I am, you should know better than to mess with me. I'll forgive you for threatening me earlier, but don't push your luck."

Kai's expression didn't change. "So, you're saying you lied when you agreed to help me?"

Byrnndi smirked. "Figured it out, huh? That's right. I was just playing along. What are you going to do about it?"

Kai nodded slowly. "I see."

Before Byrnndi could react, Kai moved. In an instant, he was in front of the man, his fist slamming into Byrnndi's stomach.

"Pfft!"

Byrnndi's eyes bulged as he doubled over, blood spraying from his mouth. The force of the punch sent him flying into a Seastone cell, the impact bending the bars. Byrnndi slumped to the ground, unconscious.

The entire sixth floor fell silent. The pirates stared at Kai, their earlier bravado replaced by fear.

Kai straightened up and looked around. "Let me make this clear. I need you to come with me to Marineford and cause chaos. If anyone tries to break the agreement, the consequences will be... severe."

He walked over to Byrnndi's unconscious body and leaned down slightly.

The sound of electricity crackling filled the air as Kai delivered a final, decisive blow. Byrnndi's body twitched, then went still.

The pirates swallowed hard, their earlier thoughts of rebellion vanishing. Kai's strength was undeniable, and none of them wanted to test him.

"Good," Kai said, standing tall. "Let's move out. We've got a war to start."
