"ZIIING! Boom!!!"
Suddenly, the enormous magic circle exploded violently, unleashing a maelstrom of black flames that danced wildly as they forged five towering, monstrous figures. Each creature radiated an overwhelming presence, their five sets of wicked eyes gleaming within the storm of black thunder, casting an image of hellish dominance over the land. It was as if the stars themselves trembled in their wake—these were beings of unimaginable power.
The air was thick with the roar of their terrifying aura, their presence alone shaking the very atmosphere. Everyone's attention was drawn to this immense force, including Ace, whose own Conqueror's Haki had ascended to the level of a KING. Even he couldn't ignore the crushing pressure emanating from these monstrous entities.
Four grotesque figures descended upon the Sabaody Archipelago, shrouded in swirling clouds of black flame:
A bizarre bird-like creature with a human face, the body of a snake, and the wings of a bird.
A massive wild boar, its four twisted tusks jutting grotesquely from its snout.
A skeletal horse, stripped of flesh, radiating a bone-chilling aura.
And a revolting worm-like beast, its gaping mouth lined with disturbingly neat, human-like teeth.
Leading them was Saint Saturn, transformed into a venomous spider, with a sharp bull-like horn protruding from its head.
They were not mere beasts; they were symbols of the highest authority in the world:
Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, Godhead of Science & Defense! The Gyuki(Spider Yokai)
Saint Marcus Mars, Godhead of Environment! The Itsumade (Bird Yokai)
Saint Topman Warcury, Godhead of Justice! The Hōki (Boar Yokai)
Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro, Godhead of Finance! The Bakotsu. (Skeleton Horse Yokai)
Saint Shepherd Ju Peter, Godhead of Agriculture! The Sand Wrym. (Work Yokai)
These five monstrous beings roared in unison, their spikes and fangs thrashing wildly, black wings tearing through the air. Their very presence seemed to open a hellish abyss, threatening to drown the earth in fear.
This was the full assembly of the world's supreme powers: the Five Elders.
"This… this is the Five Elders? The ones who hold the highest authority in the world?" Nami muttered in disbelief, her hand covering her red lips. Despite her devil fruit awakening, which had pushed her strength to the level of an Admiral, she couldn't help but feel shaken. She had faced countless terrifying situations alongside Ace, but the sheer terror of the scene before her made her heart race.
"It's like the gates of hell have opened," Robin murmured, her eyes wide as they took in the nightmarish forms. Her mind raced back to her past—these were the same Elders responsible for the destruction of Ohara, the masterminds behind the tragedy of her childhood. The same behemoth World Government that had placed a bounty of 79 million beli on her head when she was just eight years old, forcing her to live in the shadows.
But now, she stood here, face-to-face with the very embodiment of that nightmare. No longer was she the terrified child running from an unstoppable force. This time, she could stand her ground and face the hell before her.
From atop Raki, who had transformed into the majestic Suzaku, Robin gazed at the five monsters. Her eyes, once filled with fear, now held resolve as they reflected the abyss threatening to consume the world.
"That strange bird gives me a bad feeling. Especially the eyes—they're all the same, unnaturally so," Raki said, her wings ablaze with a fierce flame, glaring at Saint Mars in the distance.
"They really do seem strange, like an entirely different species of mythical beasts. But those eyes... there's something off about them," Nojiko added, emerging from the power of the Door Fruit. As a sniper, her sharp gaze fixed on the five creatures, deep in thought.
"If we meet again, one of them will be your opponent, Raki," Nami teased, sensing Raki's mood shift through her Observation Haki.
Raki, though still not yet strong enough to face the Five Elders directly, nodded seriously. "I'll do my best," she said, determination in her voice.
"You all stay together. I'm heading over to Uncle Rayleigh," Nami announced, gripping her Clima-Tact as she prepared for battle. Among the group, she alone had completed the awakening of the Thunder Fruit and had reached Admiral-level strength. Even Vivi and Kaya, who had also awakened their Devil Fruits, were not yet ready for this fight.
Vivi's Sand-Sand Fruit, despite its awakening, lacked the destructive force of Nami's Thunder Fruit, and her Haki was still not strong enough to reach the Admiral threshold. Still, together, these women could stand their ground against an Admiral, though they each had a little more to grow.
Kaya, despite awakening the Healing Fruit, had not seen a significant boost in combat power. Yet, she possessed the ability to instantly heal the members of Ace's crew on the battlefield, making her an invaluable asset. With the Healing Fruit's regenerative abilities, Kaya's own body was stronger and more resilient, allowing her to push her Haki and martial prowess further. She was on the verge of a breakthrough.
With Kaya's medical expertise inherited from the ship's doctor of the Pirate King, her physical skills and recovery rate had grown significantly. Now, with the collective abilities of the women, they were nearly strong enough to challenge an Admiral head-on.
But Nami knew that this battle was on another level entirely.
The five monstrous Elders loomed, each more terrifying than the last. The time had come for them to prove their worth against the highest powers in the world.
"Be careful."
The girls understood all too well that they needed to stick together and combine their strength to stand a chance. Separately, they wouldn't last long, especially against someone as powerful as an Admiral. As Nami stood ready, the girls' expressions became serious. They were fully aware of the challenge ahead.
Suddenly, with a brilliant flash of light and a deafening roar, Nami's figure vanished in an instant, carried away by the sheer force of her power.
"We're still too weak," Vivi muttered, clenching her fists. She glanced toward the five monstrous figures wreaking havoc in the distance, her face betraying her frustration.
"Didn't Ace say he'd give us special training after this? We'll have our time to shine," Nojiko reassured, gently patting Vivi on the shoulder. Her lips curved into a confident smile.
"Yeah, you're right!" Vivi nodded, determination replacing the earlier doubt in her eyes. The other girls echoed her sentiment, all mentally preparing for the battles ahead.
Under Ace's guidance, their Devil Fruit abilities had reached new heights of mastery. Vivi and Kaya had both fully awakened their Devil Fruits. Even Raki, who had been the last among them to obtain hers, now wielded the formidable power of the Bird-Bird Fruit, Model: Suzaku—a mythical beast species—with incredible control.
However, what they still lacked was mastery over their Haki. It was the missing key that kept them from fully unleashing their potential. Nami, having already awakened the Thunder Fruit and gained perfect command over its immense power, wielded it effortlessly, rivaling even Aokiji. Vivi and Raki, with just a bit more Haki training, could easily reach the level of an Admiral.
Haki development was now their top priority, and Ace had everything planned out for them. His rigorous training had ensured that each of them, even those without full mastery yet, could at least utilize Haki in battle. They were on the brink of a major breakthrough.
To the south of the Sabaody Archipelago, at Grove 1.
"Bah! Boom!"
With a crack of thunder, Nami appeared beside Rayleigh, her sudden arrival accompanied by a fierce gust of wind.
"Uncle Rayleigh," she greeted him sweetly, her voice causing Rayleigh's lips to curve into an involuntary smile. His reaction didn't go unnoticed by Garp, who was nearby and immediately scowled.
Why does this old geezer get all the attention? Garp thought with a hint of jealousy. Yet, despite the momentary irritation, he couldn't deny the familial bond he felt. After all, Nami called Rayleigh "Uncle," but she called him "Grandpa." It was enough to put Garp's ego back in check, even if he gave Rayleigh a slightly smug glance before retreating toward the distant coast.
That guy Kuzan… Was he about to pull something reckless? Garp's eyes drifted to Aokiji, who was currently held in check by Sengoku. Garp's lips curled into a proud smile. Truly, Aokiji's temper reminded him of himself in his younger days.
Rayleigh, noticing Garp's glance as he left, let out a small chuckle. He and Garp had fought alongside each other countless times during the era of Roger. Their bond was forged in battle, and they knew each other better than most. Roger had entrusted Ace to Garp for a reason.
"By the way, Nami," Rayleigh said, suddenly remembering something. "What does Ace call Garp?"
"Ace always calls him 'Old Man,'" Nami replied, which seemed to ease Rayleigh's mind a bit.
"But Garp-san always claims to be Ace's grandfather," Nami added with a sly smile, deliberately using formal language to avoid any unintended offense to Rayleigh.
"Hmph, that shameless old geezer," Rayleigh muttered, quickly piecing together Garp's earlier smug look. It made sense now—Garp had essentially promoted himself to a generation above Rayleigh in the familial hierarchy.
Tch… Rayleigh shook his head with a smirk, watching Garp's figure grow smaller as he left. Thank you, old friend, he thought, knowing that Garp had played a crucial role in Ace's upbringing. You made sure he grew up strong and healthy. Now, it's our turn to clear the path for Ace's future.
Rayleigh's gaze sharpened as he turned toward the five raging monsters in the distance. His eyes flashed with the unmistakable hue of Conqueror's Haki, black and purple lightning crackling around him. It was time to act.
"Uncle Rayleigh, are the Five Elders… truly immortal?" Nami asked with concern, her eyes focused on the monstrous beings.
"Their strength isn't insurmountable," Rayleigh replied, his tone steady. "At least, I'm confident I could defeat one of them in a direct fight. But the real problem is their immortality. Even if you hit them with Haki, they regenerate almost instantly."
Rayleigh's brow furrowed slightly as he assessed the situation. The Five Elders had long been sheltered in the Holy Land, and now they had emerged as something beyond human.
"Immortal? How do we even fight something like that?" Nami gasped, her hand covering her mouth.
"There's no clear solution—at least, not yet. But for now, we focus on the task at hand. Ace's plan is already in motion, and we've practically won this war," Rayleigh said, his voice filled with quiet confidence. His hand flicked the hilt of his sword as he prepared for what was to come. The pressure around him grew, his resolve unwavering.
He knew that the moment Ace gave the signal, his blade would be unsheathed, ready to strike down the immortal beings standing in their way.
His Conqueror Haki, which had been carefully stored and built up, was about to explode in full force!
This would be the moment of "Dark King" Rayleigh's strongest strike.
"Understood," Nami nodded, her expression tightening as she began to gather the immense power of the Thunder Fruit while watching Ace battle.
——
At the center of GR-1, where the battle is raging.
"Is Conqueror's Haki ineffective?" Ace wondered aloud, his eyes narrowing as he observed Saturn, who had fully recovered from all the damage inflicted upon him. Saturn's strength was, at best, slightly above that of Zephyr, who had reached the threshold of Admiral-level through mastery of Armament Haki alone. But Saturn's bizarre ability to recover made him a far more troublesome opponent.
Ace had used his king-level Conqueror's Haki to tear Saturn apart, and yet, the man had restored himself as if nothing had happened. No matter how much damage they inflicted, the results were the same—he healed completely. This power couldn't be something Saturn possessed innately. It must be linked to the true mastermind behind the Five Elders, Imu.
Still, the information they had gathered during the battle was invaluable. Ace had uncovered more about the mysteries of 'D's Will' and the secrets Imu and the Five Elders desperately sought to keep hidden—the liberating truths they feared most. More importantly, even though his fearsome 'Remnant Flame Style,' burning hotter than ten thousand degrees, couldn't defeat the Five Elders, he resolved to grow even stronger. If king-level Conqueror Haki couldn't deliver a fatal blow, then what about a power that surpassed it?
Even if he couldn't kill the Five Elders outright, Ace knew he could continually destroy their bodies. As long as the Elders remained trapped in a cycle of endless regeneration and collapse, they would become little more than broken toys—unable to fight back and, ultimately, no longer a threat.
Through this battle, Ace had confirmed two things. First, while the Yokai Monsters could recover from their injuries, they couldn't act during the process. And second, their endless regeneration might not be a blessing—it could be a curse.
Ace smirked as he glanced toward the distant battlefield, watching the Five Elders unleash their fury. So, they can't die. But sometimes, not being able to die is its own kind of curse.
Saint Saturn's voice boomed across the battlefield, "Portgas D. Ace, Nico Robin, and all those who dare defy the World Government—there is much destruction to be done here!"
"I'll handle Nico Robin!" another Elder, Saint Mars, shouted, his body shifting into his human-beast form. With a monstrous cry, his massive form shot into the air.
Meanwhile, Saint Nusjuro, whose lower half had transformed into the skeletal frame of a horse, galloped across the battlefield at an unimaginable speed. In an instant, his upper body reverted to human form, wielding a dark blade that gleamed ominously.
The moment he drew his sword, even those with the sharpest eyes, like Mihawk, froze in shock. The sword in Saint Nusjuro's hand—it wasn't just any blade. It was a true blade of unfathomable power.
With a single slash, he pierced the body of Onigumo. The intense heat from the attack seared the air, yet strangely, the wound turned to ice.
"What an odd ability... Don't let his sword touch you! It'll paralyze your body completely!" Onigumo warned.
The battle raged on, and even Crocodile laughed as he joined Enel in charging the battlefield.
"They're nothing but puppets!" Saint Nusjuro snarled as he prepared to strike again.
"What foolish games are you playing, trying to save these people? They are nothing more than insects, waiting to be eradicated! You won't escape, not with the Gate Fruit, nor will you stop Buster Call! Roar!!"
Saint Warcury, in his Yokai Beast form, let loose a thunderous roar, his massive jaws parting to reveal four razor-sharp fangs. His roar, amplified by the overwhelming power of Conqueror's Haki, became a weapon that could wreak havoc on everything in its path, causing large-scale, tangible destruction.
"Don't even think about saving them, Portgas D. Ace!" Saint Ju Peter, now in the form of a Yokai Beast Sandworm, lunged at Ace alongside Saint Saturn, whose limbs had grotesquely regenerated thanks to his strange abilities. The sandworm's colossal body surged from the ground, its gaping maw aimed directly at Ace, while Saturn's purple-tinged spider legs shot toward him.
All Five Elders were now fully engaged, launching their assault against Ace.
Yet despite the chaos surrounding him, Ace's expression remained unchanged. His eyes didn't waver. Instead, his lips curled into a confident grin.
"It's about time…"
Ace raised his head, that smile still playing on his lips. "HAHAHA! How about you shut up? " Ace's laugh rang out across the battlefield, echoing with the force of his own unleashed Conqueror's Haki.
"CRACKLE!"
"CRACKLE!"
"ZZZZAAAP!"
From the distant sea, another wave of intense Conqueror's Haki surged forth, reverberating through the battlefield and meeting Ace's with a power that doubled the intensity. The clash was deafening, sending ripples through the air.
Then, a ship appeared on the horizon. The pirate flag it flew was unmistakable, bearing the striking image of three red scars.
The Navy Vice Admirals gasped in disbelief. "No… It can't be…"
"Red-Haired Shanks!" one of them cried out in shock, his voice trembling with a mix of awe and anger.
Saint Warcury's face contorted in fury. "Red Hair Shanks!!!"
In the next instant, the combined roar of two Conqueror's Haki attacks clashed with Saint Warcury's, overwhelming and silencing his roar.
Double Conqueror's Haki Roar!
