Chapter 530: Chapter 530: I Can’t Beg for Death!
One powerful strike left Ogura Eiko gravely injured.
Though her immortality allowed her to recover, the cost was immense, requiring an extraordinary amount of energy and time.
"You'd better stay still," Reiki warned calmly, standing with his spear crossed in front of him. "If you move, I won't hesitate to attack again. Do you think your body can handle another hit like that?"
Ogura Eiko's face twisted into an unreadable expression.
It was baffling to her that her enemy, having the chance to finish her off, would instead allow her to recover.
Still, she didn't waste the opportunity. Activating the dark magic chakra coursing through her body, she began the slow process of repairing her mutilated form.
Her shattered flesh reformed, knitting itself back together. Though her clothes were in tatters, her body was whole once more in a matter of minutes.
This regenerative ability, superior to any medical ninjutsu, was the dark boon of the Evil God Cult. While medical ninjas required skills and tools, the cultists' chakra provided instant results.
"Now, do you want to keep fighting?" Reiki asked, his voice steady.
"The so-called evil god you worship has brought nothing but destruction to you and chaos to the ninja world."
"What have I done? I've given you a chance to live."
"So why not abandon your faith in that evil god and focus on your own life instead?"
Reiki tried to reason with her, hoping for a rare moment of diplomacy.
"Insult the Evil God and die!" Ogura Eiko roared, her rage boiling over.
Reiki sighed. His attempt at persuasion had failed miserably.
"I guess I'm just not cut out for Mouth Escape techniques," he muttered wryly.
The cultists, as if triggered by a switch, charged at Reiki. Each brandished a Death Scythe, their signature weapon.
"Boom!"
The first strike hit Reiki directly, the scythe coming down with full force—only to snap in half on impact.
Reiki's Evil Haunted armor remained unscathed.
Before the attacker could react, Reiki's spear pierced through his head, unleashing a devastating burst of energy.
Though immortal, the cultist's body exploded into fragments, leaving him incapacitated for a considerable time. The recovery process for such a devastating blow was excruciatingly slow.
Reiki understood their immortality had limits. Their bodies relied on the dark chakra granted by their faith, and once that chakra was depleted, their so-called immortality would end.
"ROOM!"
"Slaughterhouse!"
"Wind Release: Spear Cut!"
Reiki unleashed his abilities in a whirlwind of precision and power. Within minutes, the battlefield was littered with dismembered cultists.
He leaned against a tree, watching dispassionately as the pieces of his enemies slowly began to reassemble.
The first cultist to fully recover took nearly half an hour.
When they were all finally restored, they hesitated. Fear gripped them.
Was this really a medical ninja?
"If you want to keep fighting, I'm more than happy to oblige," Reiki said, standing up.
"In fact, I'll drain every ounce of dark chakra from your bodies if I have to."
His words sent a shiver through the cultists. For a moment, they exchanged glances, contemplating retreat.
But when they tried to flee, Reiki pulled out barrier scrolls and sealed the area.
"Leaving already? That's no fun," he said, stepping forward.
Five hours passed.
"No... please! I surrender! Don't—"
"Boom!"
Before the plea could finish, another cultist was reduced to a pile of minced flesh.
Each of them had been killed repeatedly, their bodies torn apart and forced to regenerate in endless cycles of agony.
Even Ogura Eiko, the strongest among them, looked pale and unsteady. Every time she managed to recover, Reiki singled her out and struck her down again.
"What do you want?!" Ogura Eiko finally cried out, her voice filled with desperation.
"You can't kill us. You know that! So why keep doing this over and over?"
Her frustration was palpable. Each time she recovered, Reiki gave her no respite, forcing her back into battle.
Reiki leaned casually on his spear, his voice calm.
"Well… it's not completely pointless. I'm learning quite a bit about your chakra mechanics," he said with a grin.
"But it's not time to explain that to you yet."
With that, he attacked again, cutting her off mid-protest.
By morning, the cultists were utterly broken.
Their bodies, once considered divine blessings, now felt like cursed prisons.
Each of them had been killed and regenerated dozens of times. The pain lingered, amplifying with each cycle of destruction and rebirth.
They no longer saw their immortality as a gift but as a torment they desperately wished to escape.
"Please…" Okamoto Nichilan whimpered, his voice cracking.
"Kill me."
Reiki crouched beside him, his smile faintly mocking.
"I'd love to, honestly," he said. "But your so-called immortality makes that impossible, doesn't it?"
Pausing, he added, "Unless… you'd like me to heal you instead. Maybe then I'd stop attacking you."
The cultist's eyes widened in horror. Healing? With Reiki's methods, that could only mean more pain.
Reiki laughed, standing up and turning to the rest of the cultists.
"Don't worry. We'll have plenty more fun together."
And with that, the morning sun illuminated the battlefield, its light a cruel contrast to the suffering it revealed.
