Chapter 430: Chapter 430: Forcibly Viewing Danzo's Memory
Taking off the forehead protector and throwing it to Uchiha Fugaku, Shinki sneered:
"In the Uchiha clan, the Sharingan evolves under certain conditions, forming a unique progression: single tomoe, double tomoe, triple tomoe, and the Mangekyō.
And you think the Byakugan, capable only of detection, can compete with the Sharingan as the ninja world's top pupil technique?"
Can the Byakugan of the Hyuga clan evolve?
The crowd stood stunned as if struck by lightning.
Green chakra enveloped Shinki's entire body, and he slowly floated into the air. The shimmering Tenseigan in his eyes, glowing like stars, lit up the dark night.
"The Tenseigan, which surpasses the Byakugan. Do you really think the Caged Bird Seal can restrain such power?"
"By the way, I don't have a bloodline disease. That 'disease' was merely a cover to protect myself. Developing the Tenseigan takes a long time, requiring my body to strengthen and adapt step by step to handle its immense power. The 'bloodline disease' served as the perfect excuse."
Tenseigan?
Hiashi Hyuga was utterly dumbfounded.
An advanced Byakugan?
This revelation implied that the Hyuga clan's prized Byakugan, even within the main branch, was a joke in comparison to Shinki's power.
"This is impossible! What nonsense Tenseigan are you spouting? Such eyes have never existed in the ninja world!"
Shimura Danzo shook his head violently, unable to accept the truth.
Shinki slowly floated towards Shimura Danzo.
"People know the legendary Sage of Six Paths and his Rinnegan. But the Sage had a younger brother, and the Tenseigan originates from him."
"This is impossible!"
"Absolutely impossible!"
"No...uh."
Danzo's deranged shaking ceased abruptly as a kunai slid into his hand from his sleeve. He lunged at Shinki's eyes, intent on destroying them regardless of whether they were the Byakugan or Tenseigan.
But before Danzo could strike, his body froze. An invisible force gripped him entirely, particularly his neck, as if a powerful hand had wrapped around it.
"A rat like you belongs in the shadows, never to be seen by the world. I spared you before only to protect myself and watch how long you could jump around like a fool."
Danzo dangled mid-air, his limbs flailing in a futile struggle. The force gripping him only tightened, though his hands and feet were left free enough to flail. Shinki wanted Danzo to feel the full despair of death.
Even Danzo's last desperate plan for self-destruction, the Four Symbols Seal, was rendered useless.
Shinki smirked. If you can activate it, I'll admit defeat.
Shimura Danzo's erratic movements slowed, and Shinki calmly approached him. The Third Hokage, watching, hesitated to intervene. His lips twitched, but the sight of Shinki surrounded by Tenseigan chakra made him close his eyes and look away.
The Third Hokage suspected Shinki had staged this spectacle just to send a warning: Behave yourself, or you're next.
Danzo's face turned red, then purple, as his oxygen depleted. Shinki wasn't going to kill him swiftly; it was far too lenient.
Finally, as Danzo's struggles ceased, Shinki placed his hand on Danzo's head, ready to extract his secrets.
Under the power of the Tenseigan, Danzo's mind was laid bare. Shinki swiftly browsed his memories, uncovering years of hidden plots.
When Shinki finished, Danzo's body fell lifelessly to the ground—not from strangulation but from irreversible brain damage. The process of forcibly extracting his memories had destroyed his mind.
"I didn't expect this old man to have done so many interesting things," Shinki remarked, tossing Danzo's body aside. He turned his attention to the Third Hokage.
"Lord Hokage, you truly live up to your reputation as a benevolent leader. Your skill in eliminating threats is remarkable, and your willingness to turn on your comrades is unparalleled."
The Third Hokage fell silent. He knew Shinki now held every dark secret buried in Danzo's memories, including those implicating him.
Shinki smiled subtly, watching the Third Hokage squirm in discomfort. The tension grew unbearable as the Hokage swallowed nervously. He knew the truth: once exposed, his reputation would be irreparably destroyed. Retirement? A pipe dream. He'd be lucky to avoid a lifetime in Konoha's prison.
"The frontlines need a strong leader to bolster morale and fend off the Rock Village. What do you think, Lord Hokage ?" Shinki asked pointedly.
Rather than imprisoning the Third Hokage, Shinki preferred to use his influence. A figure as powerful as the Third Hokage could still be of use to the village—on the battlefield.
The Third Hokage sighed, resigned. "I will go to the frontlines tomorrow and command the troops. I will delay the Rock Village and buy time for our allies."
With no other choice, the Third Hokage agreed to Shinki's demand. The alternative—facing Shinki's wrath—was far worse.
