Chapter 141: Chapter 141: Crushing the Raikage
"Hmph!" Nagato's fury erupted as he moved his right hand. A black rod materialized in his grasp, and he immediately launched an attack on Akira.
"What makes you think you can challenge me in taijutsu? How utterly naive." Akira sneered, his scarlet Sharingan spinning. He raised his hand and caught Nagato's thrusting black rod effortlessly.
With a dull crack, the black rod shattered in Akira's grip. Wielding the broken rod, he counterattacked, thrusting it back toward Nagato.
"Shinra Tensei!"
Nagato's pupils contracted as a vast repulsive force erupted. The invisible barrier expanded outward, sweeping everything in its path.
Akira phased through Nagato's body, reappearing on the other side unscathed.
Nagato retreated several meters, his expression cold as he stared at Akira. "So, your attacks require you to materialize, after all."
"Hmph~" Akira chuckled lightly. "And? What of it?"
Yes, so what? With dual Kamui and Hashirama's cells, Akira was the ultimate cheat code. He could drag the fight out as long as he wanted.
"Is that so?" Nagato smirked coldly. "Then I'll claim the lives of the Third Hokage and every Konoha ninja here!"
"Big words," Akira said, unfazed. "Can you back them up?"
So what if Sarutobi Hiruzen died? For him, dying on the battlefield would be an honorable end. Besides, despite his age, Hiruzen was still the Hokage—not an easy target to kill.
"Fine. Watch and see!" Nagato's voice was icy.
Meanwhile, Konoha's ninjas encircled Hiruzen protectively.
"Hokage-sama, you need to retreat! Hanzo's shamelessness knows no bounds!" a concerned Konoha jonin urged.
Hiruzen coughed up blood, offering a bitter smile. "I was careless. If shamelessness leads to victory, so be it."
Before he could finish speaking, Hanzo charged with his giant scythe, slaughtering Konoha's ninjas like a reaper in a field of wheat.
Watching Hanzo's rampage, the Raikage, Ay, snorted disdainfully and sprinted toward Killer B's location. As Raikage, he had his pride—a gravely injured Hiruzen was no match for Hanzo.
Hiruzen staggered as a blade slashed across his chest, leaving him incapacitated and lying motionless on the ground.
"Hokage-sama!"
"Protect Hokage-sama!"
Nearby, Konoha ninjas roared in desperation but were held back by Kumogakure's forces.
Nagato sneered. "Your Third Hokage doesn't seem so capable after all. Didn't you say I couldn't do it?"
Akira remained composed. "It's too early to celebrate, Nagato."
He showed no sign of panic.
"Hmph." Nagato snorted, commanding Hanzo to finish off Hiruzen.
Bang!
Just as Hanzo approached, the downed Hiruzen suddenly exploded in a cloud of smoke, spreading across dozens of meters.
A gust of wind swept through, dispersing the smoke into the sky. Hanzo's expression darkened as he stared at the hole in the ground.
"As expected of the Hokage. I underestimated you."
Dozens of meters away, two jonin were carrying Hiruzen toward the rear of Konoha's camp. Waves of Konoha ninjas blocked Hanzo's path, leaving him no chance to advance.
Hanzo tried to pursue but, without using his Deva Path abilities, failed to reach Hiruzen.
Sharing cooldowns with his main body, Nagato dared not use those abilities recklessly, lest he leave himself vulnerable.
Watching Hiruzen retreat, Nagato thought grimly, "No matter. Hiruzen won't escape for long. First, I'll deal with Uchiha Akira."
Suddenly, a chorus of beastly roars echoed across the battlefield. Two colossal forms emerged in the distance, shaking the ground with each step—the Eight-Tails, Gyuki, and the Two-Tails, Matatabi, were charging toward Akira.
Beside the towering tailed beasts, Raikage Ay appeared almost insignificant, yet his presence radiated undeniable power.
"Let's end this quickly!" Ay's deep voice boomed across the battlefield.
Akira's excitement grew as he observed the approaching Raikage, Hanzo, and the two Tailed Beasts.
"Very well. Let's settle this today!" His Mangekyo Sharingan spun into its intricate pattern as he unleashed his full chakra and ocular power.
"Hell Stab: One-Finger Nukite!"
Ay curled four fingers, leaving only his index finger raised. Blinding lightning condensed around it, crackling with an intense hum. Ay's speed surged to its peak as he dashed forward.
"If my speed surpasses your reaction time, your jutsu will be useless!" Ay roared, his form becoming a blur of lightning.
"Pathetic." Akira smirked as black lightning arced around his hand, crackling ominously.
"Kamui: Raikiri!"
Through experimentation, Akira had found the perfect fusion of Raikiri and Kamui's space-time manipulation.
"Arrogant fool! You dare to challenge me in Lightning Release? I'll show you the price of your ignorance!" Ay sneered, fully confident. As Raikage, no one understood Lightning Release better than he did. No one.
In an instant, blue and black lightning clashed. There was no stalemate. Upon contact, Ay's eyes widened in disbelief as his technique crumbled like brittle clay. A scream of agony followed as his entire right arm vanished, consumed by Akira's Kamui-enhanced Raikiri.
Blood spurted from Ay's shoulder as he stumbled forward, halting only after several meters.
"That's not Lightning Release!" Ay's face contorted in fury and pain. "It's space-time ninjutsu!"
"Your reflexes are impressive," Akira said mockingly. "You managed to dodge. But next time, I'll take your head."
"Big Brother!"
Suddenly, a massive shadow loomed over Akira. One of Gyuki's enormous tentacles lashed out like a whip, tearing through the air with a deafening roar.
Boom!
The ground shook violently as Killer B's attack left a massive crack in the earth. Amid the dust and debris, Akira emerged unscathed.
Gyuki's tentacle wrapped around Ay, lifting him away from the battlefield.
