But the offer was so reasonable that he couldn't refuse.
"Alright."
Iruka thought for a moment and answered.
At worst, they could rescue the students before any drastic measures were taken.
"Young students." Shinnosuke walked to the center of the playground and asked kindly, "Does anyone want to receive guidance from a senior?"
"Neji, do you want to stop him?" Tenten, dressed in a pink cheongsam, couldn't help but ask.
"Never mind." Neji replied flatly, "The weak should accept their fate."
He glanced at Hinata. She stood obediently beside Shiki, and didn't look like the eldest daughter of the Hyuga clan at all. It was simply self-degradation.
Neji was extremely disappointed. Just the Aburame clan? What kind of help could they possibly provide?
He suddenly thought of a possibility: perhaps Hinata had been abandoned, and the hope of the main family had shifted to Hanabi. If that was the case, it was truly pitiful.
Neji subconsciously touched the caged bird mark on his forehead. This was the cage of fate.
"Oh, it's the Sasuke Uchiha." Tenten remarked curiously, "His brother is Uchiha Itachi, right?"
Neji raised his eyes, looking at the first person to step up: Sasuke. His eyes narrowed slightly, wondering how much strength Sasuke had compared to his brother.
As for Itachi, he was a household name. Even among geniuses, there were gaps, and Neji had to admit that Itachi was stronger than him.
"I'm here to receive guidance from the senior." Sasuke said calmly.
Shinnosuke glanced at him and noticed the Uchiha symbol on his clothing. He smiled. So, it was the little Uchiha.
"Alright." Shinnosuke rolled his wrist. Not every Uchiha was Itachi, after all, "Begin."
Iruka looked around and then spoke loudly, "Start!"
Shinnosuke didn't form any seals but instead rushed forward with body-flicker speed.
Iruka couldn't help but frown. He wanted to intervene, but something stopped him.
There was a double whoosh as Sasuke threw two kunai—one to the left, one to the right—launching an attack.
Shinnosuke was surprised by the quick response. He drew his own kunai and deflected both with a clang.
Seeing this, Sasuke threw two more kunai.
"The same trick won't work twice." Shinnosuke muttered, knocking them away with ease.
Sasuke, however, raised his hands, spreading his fingers. If one looked closely, they would notice thin, nearly invisible silk threads tied to his fingers. He crossed his arms, and in an instant, the kunai that had fallen to the ground and those that had been deflected earlier came flying back toward Shinnosuke.
The sound of the wind whistled past as Shinnosuke's smile froze. What was happening?
He turned around instinctively, only to be met by the kunai surrounding him. A sharp pain pierced his limbs as the kunai struck, even though they were wooden.
"Damn it!" Shinnosuke collapsed, struggling to stand.
Sasuke, standing not far away, pulled the silk threads in his hands, causing the kunai to intertwine and lock around Shinnosuke's neck.
Shinnosuke froze, unable to move.
"A second-year student, and that's all you've got." Sasuke said expressionlessly.
It turned out it wasn't his fault—Shiki had been the problem all along. Even a top student in the second grade was easily defeated by him.
"Sasuke-kun!" Sakura and others cheered excitedly.
Even those who typically disliked Sasuke acknowledged his performance for the honor of their class.
"You're next." Sasuke lifted his chin, looking at Neji with unbridled pride.
The atmosphere grew tense, and silence fell.
"Useless!" Mizuki was stunned, unable to believe Shinnosuke had lost so easily.
"What a beautiful shuriken technique," Hiruzen remarked as he took a drag from his pipe. He couldn't help but think of Itachi. At eleven, Itachi had joined the Anbu as an exception, and had soon surpassed most of its members. In less than two years, he was likely to become the captain of the Anbu. Additionally, Itachi embodied the will of fire, just like Hiruzen's late teammate, Uchiha Kagami.
Hiruzen often thought it would be great if more Uchihas were like Itachi.
---
Shiki looked up at the sky. The sun was shining, not a cloud in sight; the weather was perfect.
Sasuke had performed impressively just now against Shinnosuke, and his confidence suggested he had already mastered the Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique. However, Gentle Fist had too many advantages in the early and middle stages, and it would be difficult for Sasuke to defeat Neji.
Everyone's eyes shifted between the two.
Neji didn't hesitate and prepared for the fight. Sasuke's shuriken technique had piqued his interest. It wasn't something an ordinary Genin could do. What's more, if Sasuke avoided the challenge, he'd look like a coward.
"Sasuke! Fight me!" Naruto shouted, rushing onto the stage, clearly excited.
"Don't get in the way!" Sasuke scowled.
"Why? Afraid of losing?" Naruto retorted confidently.
"..."
Sasuke was speechless. Did Naruto really think that running two laps in ugly green tights every day would be enough to beat him? As for Naruto's teacher, Guy, Sasuke hadn't even heard of him. How great could he be?
While Sasuke remained silent, the students from Class A burst into mocking laughter.
"He's so full of himself for someone so low." o
One remarked.
"He's an embarrassment to our class." Another added.
"Sasuke-kun will beat him with one move!" The girls cheered, bolstering each other's spirits.
"Maybe Naruto actually has a chance to win." Ino commented, glancing at Shiki.
She had seen Naruto training in the cabin, and most of their peers couldn't have matched that level of effort. And most importantly, it was Shiki's cabin.
