Chapter 6: Chapter 006: The Terrifying Younger Sister
Chapter 006: The Terrifying Younger Sister
A strange expression flickered across Senju Wakama is face. "You... are so sure I will fail?"
Jue spoke without emotion, "Enough nonsense. Agree or not? Choose one."
"Fine," Senju Wakama replied readily.
Jue continued, "I'll wait here for you. Whether you succeed or not, just come back here to get me in the end. If you dare expose my existence, I will disappear from your side forever and spare no effort to kill you. Think carefully..."
After Jue finished speaking, Senju Wakama found that his uncontrollable feet had regained their freedom.
At this moment, as Senju Wakama continued to "sneak" deeper into the mansion, a question arose in his heart: Is their younger sister really that terrifying?
Does Jue truly fear their sister?
From Senju Wakama is perspective, Jue was actually very strong.
Three months had passed.
Not too long, but not too short either.
Through close contact with Jue, Senju Wakama felt that, at least for now, he was no match for Jue. At least not yet.
Jue's ability to conceal himself was extraordinary.
The skill Jue taught Senju Wakama the most was the "Backstab Technique."
The "Backstab Technique" was extremely powerful. While sneaking, by circling behind an opponent and using a dagger to stab from behind, Senju Wakama could sever a tree trunk as wide as three adult necks in one strike.
One could imagine how terrifying this move would be if used on a person's neck.
As the teacher, Jue was naturally more proficient in this technique than Senju Wakama.
Jue could even control someone else's body to commit suicide, making it impossible to guard against.
Not only that, but Jue was not human at all and could not be directly killed by weapons meant for humans.
Jue also admitted that he was immortal, advising Senju Wakama not to entertain any unnecessary thoughts.
Even someone like Jue was filled with fear towards their younger sister.
Why was that?
Even though Senju Wakama realized that what Jue said might be true, and that their sister was indeed very strong, how could he know for sure that Jue wasn't lying without trying?
With a determined look in his eyes, Senju Wakama finally reached the deepest part of the mansion in "sneak" mode, outside his sister's bedroom.
After more than three months of training, it was time to deliver a perfect answer.
It was already late at night.
The season had just entered the rainy period.
It had rained during the day, and now the clouds had cleared and the rain had stopped.
However, the air was filled with moisture, and a night fog had settled.
Thick white mist obscured vision, hanging in the air, neither sinking nor rising.
A hazy blue light spilled from the horizon, as if the night fog was embracing the moon hidden somewhere.
The courtyard of Princess Senju seemed as if it had been cut directly from a mountain forest and transplanted here.
Wild watermelons, dragon's teeth grass, patrinia, wisteria, and wild lilies—various wild plants created a natural and beautiful scene.
Senju Wakama had no mind to appreciate the night view of his sister's courtyard.
Having been sneaking in the shadows, his clothes were soaked with the damp night air, becoming very heavy.
He quietly infiltrated his sister's courtyard, pressing his body against the wall of the house and carefully observing the movements inside.
The sliding door was closed.
Senju Wakama circled around the wall.
He found that the window was open.
In this weather, closing the windows and doors wouldn't keep out the damp air, and would instead make the people inside feel stifled.
The closer he got, the stronger a rich floral fragrance became, almost overwhelming all other scents in the environment, making it impossible to tell where the source of the fragrance was.
Maintaining his "sneak" state, Senju Wakama pressed against the window and observed the scene inside the room.
In the darkness, Senju Wakama saw a neat wooden floor with tatami mats laid out in an orderly manner.
His sister, Tsukishiro, was lying flat on the prepared futon, seemingly asleep.
The silver-haired girl beneath the embroidered futon was like a breathtaking illusion.
But as he gazed at the girl's sleeping face, Senju Wakama felt an inexplicable chill run down his spine.
Her skin was like ice and snow, her willow-like eyebrows extended to her temples, and her features were as delicate as a beautiful doll.
The youthful face above the futon was like a white rose bathed in moonlight, so beautiful it seemed otherworldly.
This was his sister, Tsukishiro. Even the night fog seemed to halt its spread, as if captivated by her and unwilling to encroach.
Senju Wakama dared not breathe loudly.
Jue's words before leaving still echoed in his ears like a curse.
Senju Wakama did not dare to sneak into the inner room.
He felt that being able to stand in the shadows and safely observe his sister's sleeping face for a while was enough.
Tomorrow, during the day, he would test the waters around his awake sister and then avoid her in the future.
As Senju Wakama pondered his next steps, he inadvertently looked up at the sky.
However, just as Senju Wakama slowly raised his head, his eyes widened in shock...
Senju Wakama saw his silver-haired sister hanging upside down above his head, her slender legs sticking to the beam, in a posture of looking up, quietly watching him.
Senju Wakama: "!!!!!"
Seeing his sister's youthful and beautiful face, backlit and smiling, Senju Wakama felt his scalp tighten.
So... horrifying!
The siblings silently stared at each other for a while.
Just as Senju Wakama was mentally chanting, "You can't see me, you can't see me, you can't see me,"
his beautiful sister suddenly smiled and asked, "Third Brother, it's so late. Are you looking for me?"
Senju Wakama gasped and blurted out, "I... I was just worried about you, so I came to check on you..."
Damn it!
The shadow technique actually didn't work?!
"Oh?"
His sister smiled slightly. She lifted her feet and, step by step, walked down from the beam along the pillar, landing silently on the ground as if walking on flat ground.
As a child of a ninja family, Senju Wakama was no stranger to this method of easily climbing trees or beams.
It was simply a matter of precisely attaching chakra energy to the soles of the feet and sticking to the beam to walk effortlessly.
But for some reason...
When his young sister performed this feat, Senju Wakama found it utterly terrifying.
No... that's not right!
The part of Senju Wakama is mind that controlled his thoughts was unusually clear. His sister... during the day, she seemed utterly powerless, barely able to refine chakra.
But at night, she could precisely control her chakra and silently hang upside down from the beam.
And...
At this thought, Senju Wakama suddenly looked at the futon spread on the floor in the inner room.
The "sister" who should have been lying there had already sat up, looking at him with a calm expression.
This was... the Clone Technique!
Senju Wakama: "..."
He realized that his sister's weak and pitiful demeanor during the day was all an act!
The moment his sister's feet touched the ground, what spilled from her cute little mouth was: "No..."
"No?" Senju Wakama instinctively repeated his sister's words.
"No, you didn't come here for that reason."
His sister's youthful and charming little face was filled with an enigmatic smile as she began to slowly circle around Senju Wakama.
Senju Wakama swallowed hard, pressing himself against the wall, not daring to move an inch.
