Naruto: After Seclusion Becoming Naruto Grandfather

Chapter 79: Chapter 79

The Daimyo of the Land of Lightning wailed like a madman, his pride shattered. His disheveled appearance was a far cry from the grandeur of his status. If he were thrown into the streets, he would be mistaken for a deranged beggar.

"Pathetic," Neji sneered, turning away in disgust. "Just looking at him feels like an insult."

"You're not going to kill him?" Tsunade asked, raising an eyebrow. She thought Neji was being unusually merciful.

"Leaving him alive is far more cruel," Neji replied with a faint smile, his cold demeanor softening slightly as he glanced at Tsunade. "Thank you, Lady Tsunade."

"It's nothing," Tsunade said with a nod.

What transpired in the Daimyo's mansion remained unknown to the outside world, as no one dared to investigate. The common people of the Land of Lightning continued to regard the Daimyo's mansion with fear and reverence, unaware of the events that had just unfolded within its walls.

Meanwhile, Neji and the others had retreated to a small room within the mansion, where they sifted through the records left behind by the previous Daimyo. They were searching for evidence—specifically, the list of guards who had escorted the Daimyo to Konoha during the infamous incident involving Neji's father.

"Found it," Tsunade announced, placing a worn booklet on the table. Inside was a roster of the escort team that had traveled to Konoha.

Neji carefully tore out the page, clutching it tightly in his hand. These were the names of his father's killers—the ones who had played a role in his family's suffering. His grip on the paper was firm, his resolve unwavering.

Far away, in the Land of Whirlpools, Uzumaki Chito sensed the memories of his clone and let out a soft sigh. Neji, if hatred blinds your eyes, then let it consume you until you've extinguished it. Only then can the skies clear.

Turning his attention back to Shin-Konoha, Uzumaki Chito's sharp senses picked up an unusual presence. A group of ninjas had infiltrated the village under the guise of civilians. These intruders had used genjutsu to manipulate villagers into planting explosive tags throughout the newly constructed buildings.

Among their targets was the Ninja Academy—the largest and most grandiose structure in Shin-Konoha. The academy's construction had already strained the village's finances, relying on interest-free loans from the Land of Waves and the support of businessmen, who sought to align himself with the rising power of Shin-Konoha.

The intruders, oblivious to Chito's awareness, worked methodically. They placed the explosive tags in key structural points of the academy, intending to cause maximum damage.

Hidden in the shadows, Uzumaki Chito observed their actions with a faint smirk. Small fish. Let's see if the big ones take the bait.

The group of intruders gathered in a secluded spot, unaware of the figure silently watching them.

"This mission was almost too easy," one of them said smugly. "We should've brought more explosive tags. These barely feel like enough."

"The orders were clear," another replied. "Just cause chaos. The rest isn't our problem."

"Fine, let's detonate the charges and get out of here."

But before they could act, they felt an ominous presence behind them. Turning slowly, their eyes widened in terror. A figure in white kimono hovered above them, exuding an aura of unimaginable power. It was Uzumaki Chito.

The moment they met his gaze, their bodies froze, paralyzed by the sheer weight of his chakra. Any thoughts of resistance vanished as fear consumed them.

"From Konoha, are you?" Chito asked with a serene smile, his tone soft but laced with menace.

One of the ninjas stammered, "I... I..."

"Which village sent you? And what's your purpose here in Shin-Konoha?" he continued, his words as sharp as blades.

"We're... we're wandering ninjas!" one of them blurted out. "We just... wanted to join Shin-Konoha!"

"Wanted to join?" Chito's smile widened. "Did you bring a gift?"

"A... gift?" The ninja's voice quivered. "We didn't know... a gift was required..."

"Ah, like, perhaps... explosive tags?" Chito hinted, his smile unchanging.

Realizing their cover was blown, the intruders' faces paled. They knew there was no escape.

Far off the coast, Sarutobi Hiruzen stood on a ship, his gaze fixed on Shin-Konoha in the distance. The elderly former Hokage remained well out of Uzumaki Chito's sensory range, cautious not to draw his attention.

"Why hasn't it exploded yet?" Sarutobi muttered impatiently. "Did they fail?"

Beside him, Danzo Shimura reclined leisurely, holding a fishing rod as he calmly cast his line into the sea. "Hiruzen, why bother? Even if they succeed, such petty destruction won't harm the foundation of Shin-Konoha. As long as that man lives, the village will endure."

Sarutobi glared at him. "I'm not trying to destroy the village. I just want to sow discord and shake their confidence. The villagers haven't fully embraced Shin-Konoha yet. Panic could destabilize everything."

Danzo shrugged, reeling in a fish. "You're clinging to a fantasy, old friend."

The ripples in the water mirrored the unease in Sarutobi's heart. Moments later, a flash of fire erupted in the distance, followed by another and another.

Sarutobi's face lit up with satisfaction. "Hahaha! Uzumaki Chito, you're not untouchable after all!"

Danzo, however, frowned. Something about the situation felt off. "Are you sure it's that simple?" he murmured, his eyes narrowing as he watched the distant flames.

Within Shin Konoha, villagers gathered near the Academy, cheering loudly. The detonations had been expertly contained, turning what could've been a tragedy into a spectacle.
