Nanny Of The Villain

CHAPTER 2

At that insignificant and childish appearance, Sarah clicked her tongue.

Suddenly, her gentle face turned cold, as if the temperature had dropped.

“Say it’s unfair that only Sarah Millen is recognized as the Little Count.”

At those words, May trembled and swallowed hard without realizing it.

May’s courage was much smaller than Sarah had expected. Sarah could tell just by the way May hastily averted her gaze to hide her trembling eyes.

‘May Chenballion. A foolish girl who is weak against the strong and infinitely strong against the weak.’

Sarah was well aware of May Chenballion’s character from the novel Flower of Darkness.

‘No one will love you, Claude.’

‘How can I truly love Claude, who can kill people more easily than breathing?’

‘You killed Sarah, your nanny, didn’t you?’

It was May who had whispered these cruel words and pushed Claude into deeper despair.

The best way to deal with someone like May was to suppress her with overwhelming power. Only then would she not dare to think of resisting.

Sarah lowered her head and met May’s eyes.

“Let’s do a simple lesson.”

The gaze that looked down at her with dark blue eyes was both arrogant and fitting.

At Sarah’s authoritative presence, May trembled involuntarily.

“Come on, follow me, Miss May.”

Sarah spoke in a friendly voice, as if she were teaching a child an unfamiliar word.

“Millen, Countess.”

“…!”

May’s face, which she thought could no longer flush, grew hot as if it were about to explode.

Seeing that, Sarah smiled and said,

“Hurry.”

Her eyes gleamed with a cold light.

With the unknown force radiating from Sarah, May had no choice but to repeat the words as if they were being forced from her mouth.

“Count…Countess, Millen…”

At the same time, May frowned and covered her mouth.

“Good job.”

Sarah smiled sweetly, praising May, and, as if she had finished a trivial task, shifted her gaze away and walked past her.

“…”

Watching Sarah head toward Claude’s room, the duke’s servants silently raised their thumbs in admiration.

“I appreciate Miss May’s concern, but I will only accept her sentiments. From now on, young master Claude Ambrosia belongs to me.”

Sarah, taken aback by Claude’s unexpected rejection, managed to regain her composure thanks to May’s mocking sneer.

It wasn’t until she stood before Claude’s tightly closed door that Sarah fully acknowledged reality.

‘It was strange that the world moved according to the plot of Flower of Darkness.’

‘Even if things change a little now, my role remains the same.’

Sarah had made an oath to Claude’s mother, Dielin.

The Duchess, Dielin Ambrosia, was Claude’s biological mother, whereas the current Duke, Ethan Ambrosia, was not.

Claude’s biological father was not the Duke, but his younger brother, Hugel Ambrosia.

‘I will go to Hugel and never return to the Crombell Empire again. Tell the child that I am dead. Forget the mother who is worse than death and please live happily. Please, Sarah, help him.’

‘I swear by Sarah Millen’s soul. I will give my all so that your child can be happy.’

Sarah was bound by that oath.

Duke Ethan Ambrosia, who declared his nephew as his son, cared for Claude more than anyone else.
However, at such a young age, children are more sensitive to their guardians’ emotions than anything else.

And the Duke was secretly avoiding Claude. He provided him with everything he wanted, except for a parent’s love.

Claude must have realized it too soon.

Sarah swallowed her regret as she heard the child’s clearer cries from behind the door.

How could she possibly heal the wounds of a child who believed that his mother had died after giving birth to him?

Sarah resolved to focus on that alone.

“You can’t let things go as Flower of Darkness wants.”

Sarah muttered to herself as if making a promise and placed her hand on the door.

Claude’s first misfortune was believing that he did not deserve love and detesting it.

He spiraled deeper into endless self-hatred, leading him to want to destroy everything as much as he hated himself.

He did not want to be oppressed by the cursed power of Ambrosia.

Claude was destined to become the dark force that would drive the empire to ruin.

‘In Flower of Darkness, I, Claude’s nanny, die.’

‘But Sarah Millen in that story and I are different.’

Seeing Sarah’s determined expression, the servants reluctantly stepped back.

Only May sensed that something was going wrong.

She quickly approached Sarah to stop her.

“It’s no use! Claude only listens to me, so you should just—”

“Shh.”

Sarah stopped in front of May, raised her index finger to her lips, and smiled.

May flinched and stepped back instinctively. She then snorted and turned away, as if daring Sarah to try.

Taking advantage of the moment, Sarah knocked on Claude’s door.

“Young master Claude, may I come in for a moment?”

“Go! Go away!”

Claude’s cries grew louder at the unfamiliar voice.

His frustration was evident, as he had repeated his refusals several times to no avail.

The servants exchanged looks of resignation, well aware that they could not convince the child.

However, Sarah’s face remained calm and composed.

In fact, she had already made prior arrangements with Duke Ethan Ambrosia.

[First, leave all of Claude Ambrosia’s education to Sarah Millen.
Second, the Duke of Ambrosia is responsible for any necessary actions in the process, fully cooperating but not interfering.
Third, trust Sarah Millen completely.]

Ethan Ambrosia had accepted these absurd and extraordinary terms.

With this authority, Sarah was determined to proceed according to her will.

If Claude refused her, she would make a fuss until he had no choice but to accept her presence.

After all, if the Duke of Ambrosia had known Sarah’s true thoughts, he would never have agreed to these conditions.

With a smirk, Sarah called out again.

“Claude?”

“Why!”

“I’ll come in now, trusting that you’ve given me permission. If you’re near the door, step back for a moment.”

“…Huh?”

Although he had rejected her, Claude had inadvertently given permission.

Sarah briefly observed from behind the door, sending her magical energy through it. She saw Claude lying on his bed, head bowed.

A faint smile appeared on Sarah’s lips.

“Very good.”

Sarah reached out towards the door.

Blue magic, the same shade as her eyes, flowed from her fingertips, forming a small magic circle.

May and the servants’ eyes widened in astonishment at Sarah’s actions.

Without hesitation, Sarah flicked her fingers lightly.

BOOM!

The heavy, sturdy door flew open as if it were made of paper, crashing loudly into the duke’s garden.

“…!”

Claude, startled, looked up at the open door in shock.

Tears streamed down his round cheeks.

While Claude and the servants stood frozen, only Sarah calmly stepped inside.

May, who was sure Sarah wouldn’t be able to enter without her help, stared in disbelief.

“A s-sorcerer!”

The whispered exclamation followed Sarah as she walked in.
