Chapter 6: Chapter 6 Interogation
After being brought into the police station, Yang Chen was immediately pulled into the interrogation room. In this exceedingly stern room, Yang Chen looked all around in curiosity.
To be honest, he had been to police stations many times in the past, but this was his first time entering one as a criminal.
After Feng Biao called his two robust police subordinates into the room, he coldly laughed and said,
"Look at your leisure expression, you still have the spare time to look around this room, when I return later to take a look at you, I'll see if you still have the mood to be like this."
With that said, with a slamming sound, he shut the metal door and walked off.
Yang Chen sat down without looking concerned, he calmly looked towards the two policemen who also sat down in front of him, they glared at him covetously as if they were staring at a prey.
A policeman with a big mustache began interrogating.
"Name?"
"Yang Chen."
"Gender?"
"Male...are you serious?"
"Age?"
"24."
"Place of birth?"
"Zhong Hai."
After a string of simple yet irritating questions, Yang Chen, as before, remained calm and collected as he patiently answered. He answered happily, even though it was the most retarded question ever, unexpectedly causing the two policemen to be the ones that felt irritated.
The order they received from Feng Biao was to find a reason to deal with Yang Chen, with him being this cooperative, he deserved to be called a role model for all suspects.
How are they going to find the justification to make him suffer?
"Yesterday you you have poisoned three people, were there such a thing?"
Finally, the other policeman thought of something and asked.
"Nope, But can you tell me why I am being accused of poisoning them? Are there any evidence?"
Yang Chen questioned the accusation. He knew that he did them flawlessly. There was no way they would know it was him who poisoned them.
The policeman who asked this question went silent. He realized that they did not have any concrete evidence to support the accusation against Yang Chen.
He thought that Yang Chen was just a mutton skewer seller and would not dare ask him such a question.
"So no concrete evidence? And why do you still dare to accuse me without any proof?"
Yang Chen asked, his voice filled with disbelief.
The policeman shifted uncomfortably, realizing that their job might not be as easy as they thought.
"Shut up and confess your crime immediately. We know that it was you who poisoned them!"
"So you are finally going to use force, huh? You need someone to be blamed so that you can gain some benefit from them, right?"
"What"
Yang Chen laughed joyfully. So he hit the nail. They needed someone to be blamed so that they would get something from those who tried to find the culprit. Even though he was the real culprit, that didn't mean that they knew.
...
Hearing that from Yang Chen.
The big mustache policeman broke out in a cold sweat.
"What are you talking about. You can't accuse someone with baseless claims."
he stammered.
"We have evidence and witnesses that prove you are guilty."
Yang Chen smirked, knowing that he was just making things up.
And as the big mustache policeman was about to speak further, a voice interrupted the tense atmosphere.
"What is going on here? Why don't I know there is an interogation?"
A clear yet strict voice entered his ears. Yang Chen turned around and saw the person who had entered. A light shone in his eyes.
This was a valiant beauty, a policewoman with shoulder-length hair, clear eyes like the autumn waters, a sharp nose, and charming lips with light pink lipstick.
'Well, She is another beauty. My life is so good to be involved with all the beautiful women.'
"This..."
The big mustache policeman didn't know what to say. Intergation could not be done by just anyone. And he wasn't in the position to do something like this alone.
Interogation must be done with careful planning and coordination. It required a team of experienced officers, specialized equipment, and a controlled environment.
"So this is an illegitimate interrogation? I will sue you all. Believe me."
Yang Chen used this chance to pressure the policeman and assert his rights. He knew that, without proper procedures and protocols, any evidence gathered during an illegitimate interrogation would be inadmissible in court.
He made it clear that he would not back down and was prepared to take legal action against the officers involved.
The policewoman didn't think that Yang Chen would react like this. So she had to calm him down first.
"I am Cai Yan, West Region Police Department's Bureau Chief, I would like to offer an apology for the faults of my subordinates. May I know your name, mister?"
"Surname is Yang, name is Chen."
Cai Yan nodded her head. She then pulled out her pen, indicating that she wanted to document Yang Chen's complaint.
Cai Yan then assured Yang Chen that she would personally investigate the incident and ensure that appropriate disciplinary actions were taken against the officers involved.
"Can I go home now?"
Cai Yan shook her head. Even though it was an illegitimate interogation but it didn't meant that Yang Chen wasn't a suspect. Now that she was here. She could do the right interogation.
"What if it came out that I was not the one who poisoned them? Can you take responsibility?"
Cai Yan looked at Yang Chen with empathy in her eyes.
"If it is proven that you are innocent, I will not only take responsibility but also do everything in my power to rectify the situation and ensure justice is served."
She reassured him.
"However, we must follow the proper investigative procedures to uncover the truth."
Yang Chen shrugged. She could do whatever she wanted, but after this, he was going to get some money from them.
