The heat was on in the UA training grounds. Aizawa had allowed students to pair up for intense sparring matches to showcase their improvements, and Mina suggested what everyone was thinking: "Kikidori vs. Bakugo. Rematch!"
The air felt electric as Kikidori and Bakugo stepped into the sparring ring. The tension between them from the last match had only grown, and both were determined to settle the score. The crowd, which included a portion of Musutafu citizens, several UA staff, and even some family members, gathered to watch. Among them were Bakugo's parents, Kikidori's sister, and even some students from other classes.
Kikidori's green and blue eyes locked onto Bakugo's fiery red ones as Aizawa gave the signal to start.
The fight began explosively, quite literally, as Bakugo's quirk sent shockwaves across the ring. Kikidori dodged with precision, using his nightmare quirk to project fleeting visions meant to distract Bakugo. However, Bakugo wasn't so easily shaken this time.
"You're not messing with my head this time, Shadow Freak!" Bakugo shouted, launching himself forward with another explosion.
Kikidori smirked slightly. "We'll see about that."
The exchange was fierce. Kikidori unleashed waves of mental projections while dodging Bakugo's attacks, but neither could gain the upper hand. The crowd was on edge, captivated by the clash.
Then, chaos struck—not from the fighters, but from the sidelines.
"Hey, this is getting too serious!" Mineta said with a mischievous grin. He plucked two sticky grapes from his head and hurled them directly into the ring.
Both Kikidori and Bakugo were mid-charge when it happened. Kikidori stepped on the sticky trap first, losing his balance and stumbling forward. A split second later, Bakugo stepped on another, sending him toppling forward.
And then it happened.
In front of the stunned crowd, Kikidori and Bakugo fell face-first—into each other. A gasp rippled through the onlookers as the two kissed, the contact unintentional but undeniable.
The silence was deafening for a moment. Then Bakugo's parents, Mitsuki and Masaru, visibly stifled their reactions while Kikidori's sister raised an amused eyebrow, her own presence adding to the awkwardness.
"What... the... hell?!" Bakugo roared, scrambling to his feet as his face turned redder than his explosions.
Kikidori, wiping his mouth, looked equally flustered but composed himself quickly. "I guess... that's one way to disarm you," he said, half-smirking.
Mineta, meanwhile, was doubled over with laughter on the sidelines. "That was better than I imagined!" he squeaked.
"MINETA, YOU'RE DEAD!" Bakugo exploded, quite literally, sending a blast in the direction of the small pervert. Mineta barely dodged, screaming as he ran for his life.
The match was called off due to the commotion, though the spectacle would undoubtedly be talked about for weeks—especially since the moment had been captured on more than a few phones in the audience.
Later, Kikidori sat alone in the Bakusquad dorm, brooding as he often did. His sister approached him, smiling.
"Well, that was an interesting match," she teased. "But don't worry, your dreams still seem intact. No damage there."
Kikidori sighed. "I'm starting to think my life is one long nightmare."
She patted his shoulder. "Nightmares end, little brother. But memories like this? They stick forever."
