Chapter 11: Confessions and Chaos
The moonlight streamed through the window of Kikidori's dorm, casting faint shadows across the room. The night was quiet, except for the soft creak of his window being pushed open. Toga slipped inside with practiced stealth, her golden eyes glowing with mischievous excitement as she made her way over to his bed.
Kikidori stirred slightly before opening his mismatched green and blue eyes. He blinked at her, his expression unreadable, though there was a hint of irritation.
"Toga," he said, his voice low. "What are you doing here?"
Toga sat on the edge of his bed, her playful grin never fading. "I came to ask you again," she said, tilting her head innocently. "Do you like me back yet?"
Kikidori sighed deeply, rubbing the back of his neck. He hated how persistent she was, yet something about her unwavering confidence and devotion made it hard for him to ignore her entirely. After a long pause, he finally nodded reluctantly.
"Yes," he said quietly, avoiding her gaze.
Toga's face lit up, a deep blush spreading across her cheeks. She leaned in closer, her golden eyes locking onto his. "You mean it?" she whispered, her voice almost trembling with excitement.
Kikidori didn't answer, but his silence was confirmation enough for her. Toga smiled wider and leaned in even more, her face now only inches away from his. Her breath brushed against his skin, and for a moment, Kikidori's heart skipped a beat.
Just then, the door to his room swung open, breaking the tense moment.
"Hey, Kikidori—" Mina's voice froze mid-sentence as she stood in the doorway, taking in the scene before her. Her eyes darted between Toga, who was practically on top of Kikidori, and Kikidori, whose expression instantly shifted to one of mild annoyance.
"What the heck is going on here?!" Mina exclaimed, her hands on her hips.
Toga turned to Mina with a playful smirk, as if she wasn't caught sneaking into a UA student's dorm. "Oh, just having a little chat," she said casually, leaning back but not moving away from Kikidori entirely.
Kikidori shot Mina a pointed look. "What do you want, Mina?"
Mina blinked, momentarily forgetting why she was there. "Oh, right! I was inviting everyone to my dorm. It's Bakugo's birthday!"
Kikidori frowned. "Didn't Bakugo specifically say not to invite anyone?"
Mina waved her hand dismissively. "Details, details. He's going to love it. Anyway, you're coming, and—" She paused, narrowing her eyes at Toga. "She's not."
Toga raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "I wasn't planning on it," she said sweetly. "But thanks for the invite… I think."
Kikidori sighed again, running a hand through his hair. "Mina, just go. I'll think about it."
Mina crossed her arms, pouting slightly. "Fine, but you better show up! And for real, what's going on with you two?" She gestured between Kikidori and Toga, her curiosity practically radiating off of her.
"Nothing you need to worry about," Kikidori said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Mina gave him a suspicious look but eventually shrugged. "Whatever. Just don't forget to come to the party!" She turned and left, muttering something about Bakugo being grumpy.
As the door closed behind her, Toga turned back to Kikidori, her playful grin returning. "So… about where we left off."
Kikidori shook his head. "You should leave, Toga."
"But—"
"Go," he said, his tone final.
Toga pouted but eventually relented, climbing back out the window. "I'll see you soon, Kikidori," she said with a wink before disappearing into the night.
Kikidori stared at the now-closed window, his expression unreadable. He didn't have time to unpack what just happened—especially with Mina's chaos looming on the horizon.
