Chapter 10: Traitor
The night sky over Tokyo lit up with flames as the battle against the CHA raged on. Kikidori stood face-to-face with the leader of the villain group, a tall man with dark armor and piercing eyes that glowed red. His name was Chaosflare, and his quirk allowed him to manipulate energy into devastating blasts.
"You think you can stop me, UA brat?" Chaosflare sneered, summoning an orb of crackling energy in his hand.
Kikidori didn't respond. He lunged forward, dodging the blast with ease and countering with a shadowy tendril. The two fought ferociously, exchanging blow after blow. Kikidori's focus never wavered, even as Chaosflare taunted him with every attack.
After what felt like an eternity, Kikidori managed to knock Chaosflare to the ground. The villain coughed, glaring up at him with a twisted grin.
"Impressive," Chaosflare said, his voice strained. "But… too bad you didn't find the bomb."
Kikidori's eyes widened. "What bomb—?"
Before he could finish, a massive explosion rocked the city. The shockwave knocked Kikidori off his feet, and he scrambled to get up as smoke and fire filled the air.
Chaosflare used the distraction to escape, disappearing into the chaos. Kikidori cursed under his breath but turned his attention to the burning buildings in the distance.
"I have to save them," he muttered to himself before sprinting toward the explosion.
As flames engulfed the area, Kikidori moved swiftly, pulling people from the wreckage and leading them to safety. He didn't stop, even as his body ached from exhaustion.
Then he heard it—a faint cry coming from under a pile of rubble. Kikidori rushed over, using his quirk to lift the debris. Beneath it, he found a small child, no older than five, clutching a torn teddy bear and sobbing for his mother.
"Mommy… Mommy…" the boy whimpered.
Kikidori knelt down, his usually cold eyes softening. "I'll find her," he said, his voice calm and steady.
He scooped the child into his arms and began searching. For three long hours, he navigated through the destroyed streets, asking every survivor he came across. Finally, he found the boy's mother, who was frantically searching for her son.
"Thank you… thank you so much!" she cried as she embraced her child.
Kikidori didn't respond. He simply nodded before turning and running back toward the battle.
By the time he rejoined the rest of Class 1-A, he was far behind. But there was no time to explain. They were still chasing the CHA, who had fled after detonating a second bomb.
As they pursued the villains, Chamora appeared again, his sinister grin plastered across his face.
"You didn't think I was done, did you?" he said, activating his quirk once more.
Kikidori felt the familiar compulsion take hold, but this time, the secret that escaped his lips was one he never wanted anyone to know.
"I like Toga," he blurted out, his voice filled with frustration.
The entire class froze for a split second, their eyes darting to Kikidori in disbelief. Even Todoroki looked at him, his usual stoic expression showing a hint of surprise.
But there was no time to dwell on the revelation. The CHA was getting away, and the heroes couldn't afford to stop. They pushed forward, leaving Kikidori's confession hanging in the air.
As they fought the villains, Kikidori's focus remained on saving lives. He pulled more people from the rubble after another explosion, his determination unwavering.
Hours later, after intense battles, blood, and more secrets spilled from other students thanks to Chamora's quirk, the CHA was finally captured. The villains were handed over to the Pro Heroes, and Class 1-A returned to UA.
When they arrived back at the dorms, the atmosphere was tense. Everyone was staring at Kikidori, their expressions a mix of disappointment, confusion, and mild anger.
"Seriously?" Bakugo growled. "Toga? A villain?"
Kikidori met their gazes with his usual cold stare, unaffected by their judgment. "It doesn't matter," he said simply. "I did my job."
"You saved so many people," Midoriya said, his tone cautious. "But… Toga?"
Kikidori sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Think whatever you want. I don't owe any of you an explanation."
The room fell silent as Kikidori walked past them and headed to his room. As the door closed behind him, he leaned against it, his heterochromatic eyes clouded with exhaustion.
For now, he could ignore their stares. But he knew that things wouldn't be the same after this mission. Secrets had been revealed, and bonds had been tested. And deep down, Kikidori wasn't sure if he could keep pretending that none of it mattered.
