Chapter 7:
Chapter 7: You Kill Xiao Fan, I Will Let Your Family Go:
Gao Wei’s anger boiled over as he roared into the phone, “Qin Yan, if anything happens to Xiao Fan, I’ll destroy you today!”
Qin Yan, however, remained unfazed, his voice calm and mocking.
With a martial saint and a half-step martial saint by his side, he had no reason to fear Gao Wei.
“Then you’d better hurry,” Qin Yan said with a cold laugh. “Otherwise, they might all die before you arrive.” He hung up without waiting for a response.
On the other end, Gao Wei’s face twisted in fury. He crushed the phone in his hand, his voice low and venomous. “Qin Yan, I won’t let you get away with this.”
Without hesitation, he leaped out of the window.
Instead of falling, his body hovered in mid-air, and with a burst of energy, he sped toward the Liu family estate.
Not long after he left, Jiang Mingqing, the dean of the Beijing Martial Arts Academy, burst into Gao Wei’s office. “Old Gao, the second son of the Qin family has returned—” He stopped mid-sentence, realizing the room was empty.
His eyes scanned the space and landed on the shattered phone on the floor. His expression turned grave. “This is bad.”
Quickly, he pulled out his phone, made a call, and rushed to follow Gao Wei.
…
At the Liu family residence, chaos reigned.
Five rounds of executions had passed. Fifty members of the Liu family were dead, reducing their numbers by half.
The survivors were in various states of despair—some fainted, some sobbed uncontrollably, while others sat numbly in silence. Many, however, turned their anger on Liu Xinyao, blaming her for their suffering.
Qin Yan walked over to Liu Xinyao, crouched down, and pinched her chin, forcing her to look at him.
“Do you see this?” he asked coldly, gesturing toward the lifeless bodies. “These people died because of you. You killed them. They are paying for your actions.”
Liu Xinyao’s body trembled violently, tears streaming down her pale face. Her spirit was on the verge of collapse.
“Qin Yan,” she stammered through her sobs, “please, let them go. I’ll do anything you want.”
Crack.
Qin Yan slapped her hard across the face again. “Let them go? Impossible.”
Despair flickered in Liu Xinyao’s eyes. Her voice was hoarse as she whispered, “Do you really have to go this far, Qin Yan?”
Qin Yan sneered. “What I’m doing is nothing compared to what you did to my Qin family today. Wasn’t your performance at the engagement perfect?”
He stood up, towering over her. His voice carried a chilling finality. “Liu Xinyao, you’re not a child anymore. Maybe it’s time you learned to think about the consequences before you act.”
Liu Xinyao lowered her head, her shoulders shaking with silent sobs. Regret consumed her. Never in her life had she felt this much remorse. She wished desperately to go back in time and slap her past self for her foolishness.
Suddenly, Qin Yan’s voice broke through her despair.
“But,” he said, his tone almost casual, “I might consider sparing what’s left of your Liu family. It depends on your performance.”
Liu Xinyao’s head shot up, her eyes glimmering with a faint hope. She clung to his leg desperately.
“I’ll do anything,” she pleaded. “Just please, spare my family.”
A devilish smile played on Qin Yan’s lips. “Fine. Kill Xiao Fan, and I’ll let your family go.”
“What?”
Liu Xinyao froze, her eyes widening in disbelief. “You can’t mean that.”
Qin Yan’s expression darkened. His voice was ice-cold. “What? You don’t want to? Were you lying to me just now?”
Without waiting for her response, he turned to his warriors. “Do it.”
The warriors, unfazed by the short time left, drew their swords and carried out his command. Ten more heads rolled to the ground, blood pooling at their feet.
Qin Yan looked at the remaining Liu family members, his tone dripping with mockery. “I was willing to let you go. But it seems Liu Xinyao values her lover more than your lives. Blame her.”
As his words settled, Liu Zhong stood up, his face red with fury.
“Liu Xinyao!” he shouted. “What are you doing? Do you want us all to die because of your selfishness?”
Other Liu family members joined in, their voices filled with anger and despair.
“You b**ch! This is all your fault! We don’t care who you love, but why should we pay for your nonsense?”
“No! No, I didn’t mean for this to happen!” Liu Xinyao cried out in panic. “I never wanted anyone to die! I swear!”
Liu Zhong’s eyes glistened with unshed tears as he roared, “Then why haven’t you killed Xiao Fan yet?!”
Liu Xinyao turned to look at Xiao Fan, who was staring back at her. Their eyes met, and her heart wavered.
The weight of his gaze softened her resolve, and for a moment, she was torn between her loyalty to her family and her feelings for him.
She sat on the ground, tears streaming down her face, and sobbed uncontrollably. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I just can’t do it! I can’t kill him!”
Qin Yan clapped his hands slowly, a faint smile playing on his lips. “What a beautiful display of love,” he said mockingly. “To choose your lover over your entire family. Truly enviable.”
His tone shifted abruptly, cold and sharp like a blade. “Since you’ve made your choice, it seems we have no option but to execute Mr. Liu Zhong next.”
He gestured toward the warriors. “Take Liu Zhong and execute him in one minute.”
Two Qin family warriors stepped forward to seize Liu Zhong. However, Liu Zhong, driven to desperation, let out a furious roar. A powerful aura surged around him as he lashed out at the two approaching men.
As a seventh-grade grandmaster, Liu Zhong’s strength was formidable, and his sudden outburst caught the warriors off guard. He fought with a crazed determination, his attacks wild and relentless.
But then, one of the eighth-grade warriors from the Qin family snorted disdainfully. He moved with blinding speed, appearing before Liu Zhong in an instant. His movements were so swift that no one could clearly see what happened.
There was a muffled thud, followed by a scream. Liu Zhong crumpled to the ground, clutching his chest. Blood spurted from his mouth as he looked up at his attacker in horror.
“You… You destroyed my martial arts foundation!” he cried, his voice trembling with disbelief and fear.
The warrior said nothing, his expression cold and indifferent.
Grabbing Liu Zhong, he dragged him aside and restrained him, awaiting the appointed time for execution.
Liu Zhong, pale and trembling, shouted desperately at his daughter. “Liu Xinyao! You ungrateful child! Are you really going to let your father die just to save a boy you’ve only known for less than a year?”
His voice cracked with fury and despair. “I’ve raised you for so many years, poured my heart and soul into you, and this is how you repay me? You value Xiao Fan over your own father?”
“No! No, I don’t!” Liu Xinyao wailed, her tears flowing like rivers. “I don’t want you to die! I never wanted this to happen!”
“Then kill Xiao Fan!” Liu Zhong bellowed, his face red with rage.
Liu Xinyao turned to look at Xiao Fan, her face pale and her body trembling.
Gritting her teeth, a glimmer of resolve appeared in her eyes. Slowly, hesitantly, she began to move toward him.
Seeing her approach, Xiao Fan’s face filled with panic. His voice cracked as he shouted, “Xinyao! Are you really going to kill me? Have you forgotten everything we’ve been through? What about our love?”
Her steps faltered at his words.
“What love?” Liu Zhong roared like a man possessed. “You tricked my innocent daughter and took advantage of her! Don’t you dare call that love!”
“Uncle Liu, I swear I never deceived Xinyao!” Xiao Fan protested desperately.
“Swear all you want, you liar!” Liu Zhong spat. “You claim to love Xinyao, but what have you ever given her? Nothing but empty words! Meanwhile, you’ve taken and taken—her elixirs, her weapons, her spiritual liquid—what haven’t you taken from her?”
Turning to Liu Xinyao, his voice was heavy with bitterness. “Look at Qin Yan. He said he loved you, and he showed it with actions. Xiao Fan says he loves you, but all he offers are empty promises.”
