Chapter 70: Plague King 3
His staff glowed brighter with golden and white energy as the two spells fused into one. The resulting power coalesced into a radiant spear, its surface adorned with intricate golden patterns that seemed to pulsate with divine wrath.
"Spear of Redemption!" Leon roared, thrusting his staff forward.
The glowing spear shot through the air with a deafening hum, leaving a golden trail in its wake. Its speed was incredible, and the energy it emanated caused the surrounding undead remnants to disintegrate just from its proximity.
The Plague King barely had time to react. The spear struck him squarely in the chest, piercing through his decayed body and embedding itself in the wall behind him. A blinding flash of white-gold light engulfed the room, forcing Roselia to shield her eyes momentarily.
When the light subsided, the Plague King was visibly weakened. His rotting flesh smoked and hissed where the spear had struck, and golden cracks spread across his torso like a web. He let out a pained, guttural roar as he staggered back, his dark aura flickering.
Leon observed the result, his expression calm but satisfied. "Looks like redemption doesn't agree with him."
Roselia smirked, her blades still glowing with energy. "I'd say it suits him perfectly—though I think he needs a few more doses."
The Plague King, now visibly furious, began summoning another wave of undead and poisonous fog in desperation, but the damage from Leon's attack was severe. The battle was far from over, but Leon's new spell had clearly turned the tide in their favor.
The Plague King's roar reverberated through the castle, shaking its very foundation. His form seemed to waver as he desperately absorbed the nearby zombies to restore his strength, but the golden cracks on his body only grew larger, disrupting his dark aura.
Leon's eyes narrowed as he analyzed the Plague King's movements. "He's trying to stall," he muttered, gripping his staff tightly. "That attack disrupted his mana core, but he's using the undead to patch himself up."
Roselia's twin blades flared with dark energy, her expression fierce. "Then we don't give him the chance to recover." Without waiting for a response, she charged forward, her blades cutting through the poisonous fog with ease.
"Battle Magic: Maigen Fury!" she shouted, unleashing a flurry of strikes that created arcs of black and purple energy. Each swing of her blade carved into the Plague King's defenses, sending chunks of decayed flesh flying.
The Plague King roared again, summoning poisonous tendrils from the ground to lash out at Roselia. She dodged and weaved through the onslaught with practiced precision, her movements fluid yet deadly. "You're not the only one who can multitask," she taunted, slashing through the tendrils as she closed the distance.
Leon, watching her agile assault, smirked. "Show-off." Raising his staff, he began another chant. This time, he fused Holy Chain, a spell that immobilized enemies, with Sacred Judgment, a high-tier holy spell that called down radiant beams of light to smite foes.
The air around Leon crackled with divine energy as golden runes appeared in a circle above him. "Heavenly Bind: Chains of Judgment!" he declared, slamming his staff into the ground.
Golden chains erupted from the floor, wrapping around the Plague King's limbs and torso, locking him in place. At the same time, beams of radiant light descended from the glowing runes above, striking him repeatedly. Each impact caused the golden cracks on his body to spread further, his pained roars growing weaker with every hit.
Roselia didn't miss the opportunity. With the Plague King immobilized, she leaped into the air, her blades shining brighter. "Executioner's Cross Slash!" she yelled, crossing her blades mid-air and releasing a massive X-shaped energy slash directly at his core.
The attack hit with devastating force, causing a shockwave that rippled through the hall. When the dust settled, the Plague King's form was barely holding together. His once-massive figure was now slumped, his aura reduced to flickering embers of darkness.
Leon approached, his staff glowing faintly. "It's over," he said, his voice cold. "Even kings fall." He raised his staff for the final blow, preparing one last spell.
Before he could cast it, the Plague King let out a guttural laugh, his voice echoing with malice. "You think you've won? My death will only be the beginning…"
A dark, pulsating orb emerged from his chest, his mana core surging with unstable energy. Leon and Roselia instinctively backed away as the Plague King's body began to collapse, the orb growing brighter.
"He's going to explode!" Roselia shouted.
Leon frowned, his mind racing. "Not on my watch." He slammed his staff into the ground, casting Force Barrier around them. "Brace yourself!"
The Plague King let out one final roar before his body disintegrated in a massive explosion of dark energy. The shockwave rattled the entire castle, but Leon's barrier held firm, protecting them from the worst of the blast.
Force Barrier is an powerful defensive spell that allowed him to absorb the force of anything, And here he absorbed the explosion force rending it useless.
When the dust settled, the hall was in ruins. The Plague King was no more, his mana core shattered. Stay connected via My Virtual Library Empire
Leon lowered the barrier, letting out a small sigh of relief. "Well, that was dramatic."
Roselia sheathed her blades, smirking. "Not bad, but next time, let's avoid the whole 'almost dying' thing."
Leon chuckled, glancing at the remnants of the Plague King. Among the ashes lay a dark, crystalline shard—the core of the Plague King's power. He picked it up, inspecting it closely. "Looks like we have our reward."
Roselia crossed her arms, tilting her head. "So, what are we going to do with it?"
Leon's eyes gleamed with excitement as he said " Well I will feed it to my Plague bearer sword and it will evolve to next level" He said as Roselia nodded.
Then thinking about something she asked " What of the unknown grade Equipment box? "
Hearing her Leon fell silent as he remembered the box, it was what he obtained in trial world but neve use it as unknown gives you an item that I'll suit you the most, he was waiting until he returns to real world, or until he gets dual class, and now both of this conditions are good so he said " Hmm, I am going to use it now" He said as Roselia nodded, her eyes gleaming in excitement.
Leon took out the unknown grade item box from his Charity System storage as he began to open it.
Leon's eyes widened slightly as the system notification appeared in his mind.

The golden light from the item box illuminated the dim surroundings as a majestic crown materialized in his hands. Leon examined the crown in his hands, turning it over to admire its craftsmanship. "So, it's a class-specific item," he murmured thoughtfully.
Roselia stepped closer, her eyes narrowing as she studied the glowing artifact. "Let me see that," she said, her curiosity piqued.
Leon handed the Sage Crown to her, and she held it up, inspecting the intricate runes etched into the metal. "This thing practically screams ancient magic," she said, her voice tinged with awe. "Only someone with mastery over a Sage class—or something close—can use it, huh?"
Leon nodded. "Exactly. It aligns perfectly with my current path, though," he said, a smirk tugging at his lips. "It was an good decision to use it after getting both classes."
Roselia nodded as she added, "Hmm, but there are also many skills unavailable?"
"Well," Leon began thoughtfully, "Lord Shiva in myth represents many aspects aside from destruction, like wisdom—which aligns with my current class path. He was also a diviner, an animal lover, and much more. Maybe unlocking those skills requires acquiring abilities from those aspects or even classes linked to Lord Shiva's lineage."
Learning about myths was common in this new world since many arcane abilities were derived from them.
"There are even guilds and organizations dedicated to such mythologies," Leon continued. "Like Olympus, Asgard, Sanatana, and others."
Roselia raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "So, you're saying if someone wanted to fully explore their potential, they'd need to tap into the essence of these myths?"
