My Cat Has Superpower?!

Chapter 12: Chapter 12 Pegasus Meteor Shower

Were they all creatures that existed in this world?

But why had they never appeared on TV?

And, if they were really creatures of this world, with such aggressive behavior, killing without blinking an eye, so dangerous,

it made no sense to tolerate them, letting them mingle in the circles of ordinary people's lives.

"There's only one explanation."

Lu Zixun suddenly opened his eyes, "They are not creatures of this world."

...

At dusk, the setting sun was like blood.

During the school dismissal period, a police car and a black sedan entered the school grounds without warning, heading straight for the building where the incident occurred.

Lu Zixun poked his head out, his gaze inexplicably following the black sedan behind him, instinctively telling himself that the people inside were not to be trifled with.

Song Yanan had been waiting at the door for some time.

Lu Zixun, not wanting to expose himself, quickly dove into the backpack while using the "Mask of the Shape-Shifting Monster" to conceal his presence.

"Our top female student, let's go," Song Yanan said with a smile, a trace of crystal clear liquid flowing from the corner of her mouth.

Lin Siyin fearlessly met her head-on.

She wanted to see whether the boastful gangster girl in front of her truly had the strength to back up her words, or if she was all show and no substance.

Lu Zixun sighed.

He was thinking about how to stop them since the fight was never fair from the start.

Lu Zixun discreetly looked outside the backpack, not far from the alley there was a crossroad with a traffic light.

Lu Zixun's eyes brightened, he had an idea.

Lin Siyin didn't notice her backpack had lightened a bit as Song Yanan had led her to the deepest part of the alley.

The surroundings were full of ruins and broken bricks, without a single soul in sight.

A glint of greed flashed in Song Yanan's eyes, tonight's dinner was secured.

The girl before her was the person this body remembered disliking the most; she imagined that eating her would bring tremendous joy.

Lin Siyin didn't give it much thought. She set down her backpack, stretched her limbs, and boldly said, "Come on."

No sooner had her words fallen than Song Yanan's gaze flickered, and she quickly lunged at Lin Siyin.

Lin Siyin agilely dodged, delivering a side kick that hit Song Yanan's arm and was blocked.

A flash of irritation crossed Song Yanan's face, and black lines bulged from her right arm, followed by a forceful swipe at Lin Siyin.

Lin Siyin defended in three stages, blocking Song Yanan's strike with her hands, but she was pushed back several steps.

The enormous force numbed her hands for a few seconds.

"How can a girl have so much strength?" Lin Siyin wondered, somewhat astonished.

A black tentacle writhed at Song Yanan's temple.

She didn't plan to waste any more time playing mock fights here.

She decided to end it quickly, to cruelly devour the annoying girl before her.

Just as she was about to extend her tentacle, a whistle stopped her dead in her tracks.

"Hey, what are you two doing here?" A traffic officer hurried over holding a cat.

Lin Siyin was surprised to see her own cat, which had somehow left the backpack.

Song Yanan glowered at the unwelcome guest and warily eyed the somewhat familiar cat in his arms.

"Whose cat is that?" the officer asked.

"Special Guard Uncle, it's mine," Lin Siyin patted her backpack and hurried over.

"Be careful next time, don't lose your cat again. It was running around in the street and nearly caused a traffic accident," the officer scolded seriously.

Lin Siyin's face turned red as she took the orange cat and quickly said, "Okay, Special Guard Uncle, I will make sure it doesn't get lost again!"

The officer's expression softened slightly, "Alright, pay attention next time. Also, it's getting late. What are you doing in this secluded alley? Hurry home and stay safe."

Lin Siyin nodded vigorously.

After the traffic police had left, he turned to look at Song Yanan only to find that she had quietly slipped away at some point.

...

Upon returning home, Lin Siyin and Lin Beisheng sat facing each other, eating their meal in silence, speaking neither during dinner nor before bed.

After dinner, Lin Beisheng sat on the sofa, his brows tightly knit.

After some hesitation, he murmured to Lin Siyin, "School hasn't been very safe lately. Make sure to come home early after school and don't stay for self-study anymore."

Lin Siyin looked up, confusion apparent on her face, "Haven't you always encouraged me to study more at school? What happened?"

"Don't ask questions, just listen to your dad. No more self-study, come straight home. I'll be waiting at the door to pick you up."

"So you're not working overtime anymore?"

Lin Siyin was happy that her dad would spend more time with her, but she was more curious than anything.

"No overtime."

"Oh, why isn't the school safe?"

Lin Beisheng's brow twitched, his tone became irritated, "Unsafe is unsafe, no need for so many questions. No one dares to linger at school these days. You won't be making a mistake by listening to me. Stop asking."

"Oh…"

Lin Siyin puffed her cheeks, turning her attention to the television.

"According to reports, the Pegasus Meteor Shower will reach Earth tomorrow at one o'clock in the morning. Experts say this will be the last meteor shower of the year. If you want to witness another meteor shower, you'll have to wait another hundred years…"

"Another meteor shower, how many have there been this year?" Lin Beisheng muttered.

"Wow, I haven't seen a single meteor shower." Lin Siyin said, a bit dejected.

"What's so great about it? It's just small asteroids hitting the Earth, getting ground up by the atmosphere…" Lin Beisheng said grumpily.

Lin Siyin pouted.

Jeez, he just didn't want her to go watch the meteor shower and was making all sorts of excuses.

Then, Lin Siyin's eyes darted about, a bold idea forming in her mind.

...

Deep into the night, on a pitch-black path.

Lu Zixun had not stayed at Lin Siyin's home.

Instead, he was following the scent to find the tentacle monster that had consumed two living people that day.

He stopped in front of the entrance to a residential area, looking up at the large stone next to him with several bright red characters carved into it: Lihua District.

Continuing to follow the scent, Lu Zixun climbed onto an apartment building.

Entering the living room, he saw the floor covered with long, thin, black tentacles, resembling blood-sucking worms from a filthy drain.

Then, he sensed a strange human smell.

Following the scent into the bedroom,

Lu Zixun saw a man in a black suit leaning against the wall, barely alive and bleeding from his abdomen.

On the bed, a filthy, sticky Blood Worm, having lost most of its body, was still stubbornly wriggling.

A small face of Song Yanan stood firm upon the Bai Hui acupoint, unwavering.

Lu Zixun immediately bulked up his body, filling half of the room with his large form.

He snapped his sharp claws out, furiously scraping against the Blood Worm's body.

"Zzz, zzz."

The claws broke with a snap.

Lu Zixun's face turned green as he heard the Blood Worm's merciless taunting.

"Dead bug, still so arrogant."

Lu Zixun stomped hard on the Blood Worm, causing the bed to collapse instantly.

To prevent from tearing down the entire building, Lu Zixun took the Blood Worm outside.

Then, he unleashed a storm-like barrage of attacks against the Blood Worm.
