Merged Worlds: A Brand New Life

Chapter 6: (Extra) Originals React To Gloom

To note that this is supposed to be a peculiar way to introduce Gloom's backstory.

"Venti have you finished gathering everyone requested by the letter?" Aether asked the Archon who ironically seemed a little winded, "Yeah, took a bit to find them, but yeah." Venti confirmed as he took his seat, "Perfect, thanks for letting us use the theater by the way." Aether told Furina and Neuvillette.

The Ex God waved her hand dismissively, "When you find a reel labeled 'events that would have come to pass given the right circumstances', it becomes a matter of asking." Furina explained, finishing setting the projector up, "I still wonder what could be so important that I had to gather other Harbringers." Arlecchino said, annoyed she had to be in debt with the others.

Columbina giggled at her friend's concern, "I'm sure it'll be worth it~" She said slyly, taking her own seat beside the Knave, "It will be interesting if it needs something specific to happen at all." Childe pointed out.

A bit after, the projector started, showing on the screen Lyney, Lynette and Freminet walking in Fontaine.

"Huh... Everything considered, we should have expected seeing something like this." Nahida rationalized.

"For the next performance I've been practicing this trick where we fake cutting an arm." Lyney explained, "That sounds... intense?" Freminet responsed sounding a bit skeptical, "I'd use a fake arm obviously." Lyney reassured before Lynette stopped both of them while looking up.

Lyney nodded at his alternate's idea, "That's a good one, I have to remember it." He said, writing it down on a notepad, "It sounds interesting, but why did they stop?" Lynette pointed out.

Above the three siblings, a portal, just a random portal, appeared, and out of it dropped something that Freminet hurried to catch it, and much to his surprise, he found what looked to be a five year old girl in his arms.

"Oh that's... Something..." Furina commented, knowing how this might go, "No matter who found her, only an idiot would leave a child alone." Arlecchino pointed out, "It's true, but I'm not sure the House of the Hearth is the best option." Diluc said, recognizing the Knave as a Harbringer.

The three siblings looked at the little girl who seemed to be a bit scared, "H-hey it's okay! We're not going to hurt you!" Freminet said, trying to calm her down, "It's different from the children back at the House..." Lyney muttered nervously.

Aether sighed at the sight, "Having what's basically over eighty younger siblings must be awkward." He said in understanding, "Are you talking from experience?" Paimon asked her companion, "You have no idea..." Aether responded, remembering situations with Lumine.

Not knowing what to do with a lost child, the three ended up bringing back the girl to the House of the Hearth where Arlecchino inspected her closely for anything that might be wrong, "And she fell out of a portal you say?" She asked her children with a raised eyebrow, "Yes, we have no idea from where she came." Lynette confirmed.

"Hearing it outloud sounds a bit crazy." Arlecchino commented, not thinking her alternate will believe it with no visible proof.

"With the worlds merging portals have been appearing around, but usually the people that come out of them have a dead giveaway of where they came from..." Arlecchino contemplated, wondering how they could figure it out.

"Worlds merging?" Albedo said in surprise, "That's unbelievable! That would mean that something, or worse, someone has the power to do something like that!" Nahida pointed out, freaking almost everyone out, "And that thought is never going to leave my mind..." Ei lamented outloud, wondering if it's from Celestia.

The screen blacked with the writing after a few hours on it before fading back in to Nahida scanning the girl's mind, "She's from a world not included in the merging, and... Can we talk in private?" The Archon requested to the Harbringer, leaving the girl and the three children by themselves.

Seeing the Dendro Archon casually interact with the Harbringer cause quite a bit of backlash in the crowd, "I feel like we're missing all the context here!" Venti commented, putting a hand to his forehead.

"Peruere, this girl died and got reincarnated, she forgot a lot due to the shock of it." Nahida explained, recalling what she saw, "I see, her name too I presume." Arlecchino assumed, noting ow Nahida didn't use a name.

Those who had the misfortune to have someone they cared about die lowered their heads, "You'd think the memory would hurt less after a while..." Diluc simply stated while everyone else stayed quiet.

Going back to the group, the Archon and Harbringer were surprised to see that they grabbed training sword and sparred, but more surprising was that the girl was actually having Lyney, Lynette and Freminet on the backfoot, and actually winning.

Seeing the three experienced fighters losing to a little girl was quite the sight for everyone, "I'm sorry, I don't think I saw that right." Kaeya commented, looking shocked by it, "You did, she's winning." Jean confirmed, looking just as shocked, "This one shows promise~" Columbina commented, curious as to how it would go.

Arlecchino let out a surprised hum at the sight before she stepped behind the girl and placed a hand on her shoulder, "That's impressive little one." She complimented, "How would you feel to hone that skill?" She offered.

"Hold on a moment, usually everyone in the House is made to train..." Lyney brought up in confusion, "Perphas something happened with the Fatui that made it no longer an obligation." Miko suggested, "Like the destruction of Celestia?" She added a moment after, knowing that was the objective, "That would mean the plan either worked, or something else happened." Wandered responded.

"...Yes!" The girl decided, pointing the sword at Arlecchino with an unusual amount of determination for a little girl, which made The Harbringer think to her past, "Well then, I hereby welcome you to the House of the Hearth, and name you Gloom, Gloom Clervie." Alrecchino said, putting a hand on Gloom's head as a pledge.

Hearing the name of her pledged sister made Arlecchino look down in mourning, "At least she lives on somehow..." She told herself, but it went heard by her children who hugged her in consolation.

The screen then went black with the writing 10 years later on it.

"W-wait it's not done?" Freminet said in realization making everyone that looked away look back at the screen, "That's a long time, what could have happened that needed to be shown?" Ei wondered outloud.

The screen faded back in to a grown up Gloom standing over every other Harbringer and the Tsaritsa herself, seemingly having defeated all of them all the while not being tired at all.

"She- H-how?" Furina asked hoping someone would answer, "But- Why is Signora alive? And where are the Doctor, il Capitano and the Jester?" Childe questioned outloud, but was interrupted.

"When I suggested you try fighting me I didn't expect you to win... But here we are... Anyway, you have proven yourself Gloom, I hereby give you a place among the Harbringers, as well as the title of il Capitano." The Tsarita said, causing Gloom to nod in acceptance, a slight smile on her face as well as a dark glow coming from her pocket.

Hearing the words of the Tsaritsa made all the Harbringers present to look on in absolute shock, "...I guess she took Childe's place as the youngest..." Columbina commented trying to lighten the situation, "As well as Capitano's place..." Arlecchino added, still not sure of what exactly is going on.

Right as everyone is starting to ask questions, the reel in the projector exploded, sending everyone present in a panic as the present Cryo and Hydro users began trying to put it out, while also pushing the questions to the back of their minds.
