"Roar of the Fire Dragon!"
"Ice Style: Assault Gun!"
At this moment, the owl-headed man unleashed a breath of Dragon Slayer fire, while Gray countered with his Ice Style. The two forces, fire and ice, were colliding fiercely.
Nearby, the injured Simon, one of Erza's childhood friends, and Happy were watching.
"Simon, what's going on? Didn't you go after Xu and Erza?" Lucy asked, her expression one of complete shock as she stared at the owl-headed man wielding Dragon Slayer magic. Her mind was in a whirlwind. The fire Dragon Slayer magic was unique to Natsu, and that tuft of hair looked just like his—so why did the man have an owl's head?
"Lucy, Natsu was swallowed by that owl-headed guy!" Happy cried out in distress.
Simon, clutching his stomach and half-kneeling on the ground, began to explain.
"He's not Natsu. He's Hyo, one of the Three Ravens from the Skeleton Guild, an S-rank mage. He has a terrifying ability to consume his enemies and absorb their magic."
"In about ten minutes, I'll have fully digested Fire Dragon Natsu and gained the power of Dragon Slayer magic!"
The owl-headed man, having suppressed Gray with his flames, let out a cruel, mocking laugh.
George had planned to intervene, but Juvia, who had feelings for Gray, screamed and charged to his aid when she saw him being overwhelmed by the fire.
"Master Gray, I'm coming to help you! Water Flow Slash!"
Several sharp water blades shot toward the owl-headed man, who quickly dodged them.
Juvia was an S-rank mage, and those water blades could easily cut through rock. If they hit, they'd slice through a body in an instant.
"Good job, Juvia!" Gray shouted, seizing the opportunity. As the owl-headed man dodged the water blades, Gray quickly set up a cannon.
"Ice Style: Snow Cannon!"
A force like an avalanche erupted from the cannon, blasting the owl-headed man through several walls, sending him crashing to the ground. Natsu was spit out from his stomach as a result.
Gray, with the strength of an S-rank mage, along with the powerful combination of ice and water, created a devastating attack. It was no surprise that the damage was immense.
"Ice Style... I'll need to add that to my list of spells to learn," George thought to himself, impressed by the power of the Snow Cannon.
Back in the Marvel universe, George had just crafted a new wand using the World Tree and the Frost Giant King's heart nerves. This wand not only provided a 25x magic power boost but also enhanced ice-based magic. If he could master the Snow Cannon, casting it with his new wand would likely unleash an attack as powerful as an actual avalanche.
"The magic spirit energy will be fired in ten minutes. Lucy, you and Simon take Erza's other friends out of the tower and wait for us at the sea outside the island."
"Happy, stay with Natsu and follow me to find Erza."
Noticing that Natsu only seemed slightly dazed and was otherwise unharmed, George quickly made his plan.
Since Simon had been injured by Hyo, he wouldn't be much help. It made sense to send him to gather the rest of the group and evacuate, while Lucy's Aquarius star spirit would be most effective at sea, so they would wait there.
Meanwhile, George would lead Natsu, Gray, and Juvia, all S-rank mages, to find Erza. With this many powerful mages, they'd be able to handle any trouble that might arise.
"Alright, you all be careful," Lucy said, helping the injured Simon as they made their way down the tower.
Happy took hold of Natsu, and George grabbed Gray and Juvia. They flew out of the tower once more, heading straight upward.
Following the guidance of the tracking spell, they reached a floor near the top of the tower.
"It should be here!" George said, pointing ahead with his tail while holding his wand.
"Thunder Explosion!"
Another hole was blasted into the already sturdy tower.
It had to be said—Explosion spells were excellent tools for demolishing buildings.
The tower, which took eight years to build, was no ordinary structure. It incorporated a vast amount of magical materials and was inscribed with numerous magical incantations. The exterior walls were incredibly sturdy.
Normal magic would likely struggle to break through its defenses.
It was only thanks to the additional effect of the Explosion spell on buildings, combined with the amplification from George's wand, that they were able to blast open a large hole.
"Wow!"
As George, Natsu, and Gray entered through the newly opened hole, they couldn't help but exclaim in awe.
The floor they entered was vast and open, a giant space with a bridge in the middle. The only way to reach the entrance to the top floor was by crossing this bridge.
Standing guard on the bridge was the most powerful member of the Three Ravens, the Transfiguration Mage, Pigeon.
Pigeon was a woman wearing a cherry blossom kimono and wielding a red magic katana.
However, the three men's "wow" wasn't for the space or Pigeon, but for Erza, who stood on the opposite side of Pigeon.
As they rushed in, they had just seen Erza, wearing her Infernal Armor, get struck by Pigeon's sword, shattering the armor. The brief moment of impact was truly astonishing.
But it was only for a moment, as once the armor was shattered, Erza quickly changed into a new outfit.
This time, however, it wasn't armor. It was just a chest wrap and two long swords.
"Erza, do you need help?"
George landed behind Erza with the others. Anyone capable of shattering the armor of a top-tier S-rank mage like Erza was not to be underestimated.
"George, you're here too."
Erza nodded at George, replying calmly:
"No need, I'll handle this myself. When facing such a powerful opponent, I shouldn't focus on defense. Only by freeing my heart and attacking with everything I have can I win."
With a flash of movement, Erza gathered all her magical power into her two swords and charged at Pigeon.
Pigeon, too, drew her sword and met Erza head-on.
The two seemed to clash in an instant, but in reality, they had already exchanged over a hundred blows.
"You really have some skills, Queen of the Fairies... Erza."
After landing, Pigeon mumbled this under her breath before the magic katana in her hands shattered with a loud crash. She collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
In that brief exchange, Erza, focusing solely on attacking and not on defense, had struck at Pigeon's weak spot.
"Erza, the magical spirit energy will be launched in eight minutes. We need to leave," George said, walking up to Erza after seeing her defeat Pigeon.
Erza shook her head once more.
"George, take them and leave now. I need to settle things with Gerard today.
I need to understand why he's doing this.
Don't worry. As long as I stop him within the next eight minutes, all his plans will fail."
She still couldn't comprehend why Gerard, who had once been so kind and reliable, had suddenly changed and turned into the person he was now.
"Alright."
Seeing the determination in Erza's eyes, George knew that no matter what he said, she wasn't going to leave. It seemed that in her heart, she had already made up her mind to face Gerard, even if it meant they would both perish.
He reached out to stop Natsu and the others from protesting. As Erza turned away, George cast a spell at her.
"Sleep, fall down!"
