Marvel's Black Steel

Chapter 214: Chapter 212: Finding Peter

"Haa, now that was worth the wait." Said Carol with a grin as she slowly flew through the sky while Tut followed beside her, his expression constantly twitching in annoyance.

"Tsk, yeah, I bet so. Why don't you fly around the planet and bask in your glory… Oh, did you already do it?" Remarked Tut in annoyance with a scoff as he side-glanced at Carol, only to raise an eyebrow in mock curiosity, causing her to laugh.

We hadn't spent a long time flying around the solar system, probably about an hour; granted, it felt far longer for us, though despite spending all of that time, I was thoroughly humiliated.

"Oh, don't be that way; no one likes a sore loser, Pharaoh." Said Carol with a smirk as she flew backward while looking at Tut, who rolled his eyes.

"Maybe I wouldn't be a sore loser if you weren't mocking me the entire time. Sleeping? Reading a book? What else did you pretend to do while I tried as hard as possible to chase after you?" Asked Tut blandly as he folded his arms and blankly looked at Carol, who smiled before suddenly doing the limbo, causing his eyes to glow red.

"Oh, I also pretended to do the limbo when we flew past Saturn- Ouch!" Replied Carol with a smile as she lowered her body, only for two reddish lasers to hit her plump butt, causing her to swiftly turn around while eyeing Tut.

"Stop it; that didn't hurt; my heat vision dissolved into pure energy and was absorbed into your body when it touched your skin. I saw the whole process." Said Tut with a blank expression as his eyes returned to normal while Carol flashed a smile before slowing down slightly, coming parallel to him.

"Hehe, alright, alright, I'm sorry I behaved like that." "Oh, don't get things wrong, Carol; I don't need your pity." Said Carol and Tut, respectively, as the former apologized, only for the latter to shake his head with a stern gaze, taking her aback.

"Just don't get mad at me when I do the same to you… I'll leave you wanting to cry from how badly I beat you." Added Tut with a competitive yet wicked grin as he leaned closer to Carol, who raised an eyebrow before fearlessly grinning.

"Hahaha, bring it on little boy. You'll never see a tear shed from my eye!" Stated Carol with a grin as she pressed her forehead against Tut's, the two fighting for dominance before suddenly separating.

"Haha, though all jokes aside, you're incredibly fast, Pharaoh. Yet what shocks me is your strength. I use my energy to help me fly faster than the speed of light; however, you, Pharaoh, you're capable of nearing such speeds through simply raw strength… it's incredible, honestly." Remarked Carol solemnly as she looked at Tut, who raised an eyebrow in slight surprise.

"Hmm, is it?" "Yeah. I've been around the universe, and there are many ways to travel faster than the speed of light, but they all require special techniques, highly advanced technology, or some weird energy like mine. But I've NEVER seen anyone do what you're doing." Said Tut and Carol, respectively, as the former curiously looked at the latter, who nodded while flipping her body and gazing at the sky above her.

"Think of it like this. Say we're two identical spaceships, except I have a light-speed drive. You're solely relying on the strength of your thrusters to keep up with me; it's never going to work, obviously, but the fact you're nearing the speed of light alone is damn impressive." Added Carol as she held her two hands in the air while Tut nodded in understanding, only to raise his arm, causing her to chuckle.

"I have a question, Mrs. Danvers… The hell is a light-speed drive?" Asked Tut in confusion as he looked at Carol, who opened her mouth, only for his expression to suddenly morph into a frown.

Tilting my body, I looked down at the Earth, spotting Mom, Mrs. Grey, Sara, Jean, Aunt May, Gwen, and Mrs. Stacy, who were all crying; I didn't know the reason why yet, but I didn't need to know as I instantly shot towards where they were.

"Eh, Pharaoh?" Asked Carol in confusion as she watched Tut fly off into the distance, only to sigh while following him from a distance.

Quickly arriving in Queens, I flew into a tree's canopy and quickly wore some clothes before leaping out, landing right in front of a kid flying a kite.

"Shh, quiet." Said Tut as he handed the kid twenty dollars before sprinting off into the distance.

"Did you hear something with those ears of yours?" Asked Carol curiously as she ran right beside Tut in jeans and a hoodie, causing him to raise an eyebrow while nodding.

I didn't verbally respond as I was focused on trying to find out why everyone was crying, though I only ended up finding out the truth by the time I arrived at the Parker's house.

"W-What? M-Mr. Parker died!?" Muttered Tut with widened eyes as he froze on the front porch while Carol winced.

"Oh, if that's the case, it'll be better if I stay out of this." Said Carol lightly as she backed away from Tut before sitting on one of the chairs while he nodded.

"I'll be here." Added Carol softly as she looked at Tut, who took a deep breath before knocking on the door.

"Pharaoh, you've arrived… It seems you've heard the terrible news." "...Yeah. How is Aunt May faring, Mr. Grey?" Said John and Pharaoh, respectively, as the former solemnly gazed at the latter, who slowly nodded.

Entering the house, I closed the door and glanced at Mr. Grey as we stood at the entrance, far enough away that everyone else wouldn't hear us.

"Haa, bad, of course. But she has people who care for her by her side… The one I'm worried about is that boy Peter. The only one who had seen him was George when he arrived at the crime scene; no one knows where he is now." Replied John softly as he rubbed his head while leaning against the wall before heaving a deep sigh.

"Why must it be the good ones, huh? First James and now, Ben?" Muttered Jonn softly as he aggressively rubbed his face while Tut headed deeper into the house.

As I entered the living room, I saw Mom, Mrs. Grey, and Mrs. Stacy sitting beside Aunt May, who was still shedding tears; I didn't bother to make my presence known and just silently watched for a few moments before softly sighing and leaving. As for Jean, Sara, and Gwen, they were in Peter's room, which is where I went; walking upstairs, I arrived at his room and knocked on the door before entering, only to receive a brick to the face, which I caught before it touched the ground.

"I half-expected that." Said Tut lightly as he set the brick on the dresser before closing the door, trying not to disrupt Jean while glancing at Gwen.

"For someone who can hear everything on the planet, you do an awful job saving those close to you." Said Gwen in slight anger as she wiped her eyes while glaring at Tut, who clenched his fist while softly sighing, only for Sara to suddenly hit the back of her head.

"Shut it, Gwen! Just because you're upset and sad doesn't mean you can vent your emotions on Tut." Said Sara sternly as she glared at Gwen, who bit her lip before lowering her head.

"I-I'm sorry, Pharaoh." Said Gwen apologetically, her words causing Tut to nod as he gently patted her shoulder while sitting beside her.

"It's fine." Said Tut lightly, his words causing her to lean against his shoulder, causing Sara to frown while the concentrating Jean twitched.

"What is Jean doing?" Asked Tut softly as he looked at Sara, who softly sighed before approaching him, only to sit beside him.

"She's been trying to communicate with Peter, but he refuses to respond… It's been nearly an hour since she has started." Replied Sara softly as she glanced at Tut while looking at Jean with a complicated gaze.

"He's not responding. Nothing I say gets a response out of him…" Said Jean with a deep, frustrated sigh as she opened her eyes and rubbed her head while glancing at Tut, who furrowed his brows.

"... I happened to read his mind. His thoughts, they're not normal. He's angry… He wants revenge." Added Jean solemnly with an unsightly expression, her words causing Gwen and Sara to frown while Tut narrowed his eyes.

"Revenge? The one responsible for Mr. Parker's death. He hasn't been captured?" Asked Tut with a deep frown as he glanced between Gwen and Jean, prompting them to shake their heads.

Grunting in anger, I stood up while rubbing my head, already setting my sights on locating Peter; he was someone who deserved to carry the title of "HOPE" rather than me, and I knew I needed to find him before he did something he would soon come to regret.

"Where is he, Jean?" "Near Brooklyn. Underneath the bridge." Said Tut and Jean, respectively, as the former nodded while the latter stood up.
