Chapter 225: Chapter 225
"Haah!!"
Arthur roared as he charged at the Snow Mountain King, delivering a powerful kick to its abdomen and sending it flying.
He rushed forward, preparing to follow up on his attack, but the Snow Mountain King absorbed the force of the blow mid-air and leapt back at Arthur, countering with a kick of its own.
Arthur reacted swiftly, grabbing the Snow Mountain King's leg and executing an over-the-shoulder throw, slamming it into the ground.
However, the Snow Mountain King used its legs to clamp down on Arthur's arm, twisting its body and flinging him away in an impressive display of agility.
"What the—?!" Arthur exclaimed as he tumbled through the snow, shocked by the creature's combat prowess.
Regaining his footing, Arthur prepared himself as the Snow Mountain King charged. Its attacks were unrelenting, each punch coming from unexpected angles, keeping Arthur off-balance and unable to predict the next move.
In a matter of seconds, the Snow Mountain King landed several devastating blows to Arthur's vital points, forcing him into a defensive stance.
"Guh..."
Arthur crouched low, shielding his body with his arms as he gasped for air. His mind raced, recalling the combat lessons his mentor had drilled into him.
"He'd scold me so hard if he saw me getting beaten like this," Arthur muttered, forcing a bitter smile.
As the Snow Mountain King's next punch aimed for his ribs, Arthur shifted tactics. Abandoning his defense, he countered with an elbow strike to its face, following up with another punch to the same spot, disrupting its momentum.
Grabbing the Snow Mountain King by the head, Arthur yanked it downward and repeatedly drove his knee into its face, finishing with a downward elbow to its skull, slamming it into the snow.
"You're tough... I haven't taken a beating like this in a while," Arthur admitted, spitting out blood as he stared at his opponent. His tone was serious now; this was no ordinary foe.
Arthur reached for the Snow Mountain King's hat, intending to uncover its true form.
But before he could, a geyser of snow erupted beneath him, forcing him to retreat as he swatted the flurry from his face.
When the snow settled, the Snow Mountain King had vanished.
"Whoosh... whoosh..."
The wind howled louder, and the snowfall thickened into a near-blinding blizzard.
Arthur squinted, his gaze darting around the snowy wasteland. The Snow Mountain King's voice echoed eerily through the storm.
"You're strong, but you've chosen the wrong opponent. I am the Snow Mountain King, the ruler of this realm. No one can defeat me here."
Arthur smirked despite the situation. "Snow Mountain King? More like Hide-and-Seek King! Is this all you've got, hiding in the snow?"
"Bam!"
Arthur's taunt was cut short as a punch came out of nowhere, landing square on his face and sending him reeling.
Before he could recover, a kick knocked him to the ground. He quickly flipped back onto his feet, only to be hit by another blow that sent him sprawling again.
"Cough! Cough!"
Arthur spat out blood—and a tooth.
"This is my domain. Here, no one can best me," the Snow Mountain King declared.
Arthur barely had time to register the words before a powerful strike to his chest launched him through the air.
Arthur's trajectory was dangerously aimed toward a cliff, and he plummeted over the edge.
He fell for what seemed like an eternity, finally landing with a heavy thud on the snow-covered ground below. Pain wracked his body as he coughed up more blood.
Before he could rise, the Snow Mountain King descended from above, slamming its foot onto Arthur's chest and pinning him down.
"You're resilient. Surviving a fall like that proves you're no ordinary man," the Snow Mountain King remarked coldly.
"Ha... better than being a wrapped-up coward who won't show his face," Arthur retorted, even as he struggled to breathe under the pressure on his chest.
The Snow Mountain King pressed harder, its gaze unyielding.
"I like prey like you. You'll make an excellent servant," it said, crouching down to look Arthur in the eyes.
Elsewhere
Diana: "Damn it! That Atlantean is so weak. How could he get beaten like this?"
Loki: "His arrogance reminds me of a certain brother of mine who fell to Earth."
Thor: "Hey! What's that supposed to mean?"
Nobita: "This is bad! If that guy falls under the Snow Mountain King's control, it's over!"
Alfred: "Master Wayne, are you there yet?"
Bruce Wayne: "I can see them now!"
Bruce, piloting his yellow-lantern-powered Batplane, had reached the site where Arthur and the Snow Mountain King were battling. Preparing to deploy, he aimed to take down the Snow Mountain King himself.
"Ahhhhhhh!!"
A sharp scream pierced the sky, halting Bruce's descent.
"What now?" Bruce muttered, glancing upward.
Both Arthur and the Snow Mountain King turned their attention to the source of the noise.
From above, a figure plummeted at incredible speed, crashing near Arthur and the Snow Mountain King with enough force to create a shockwave. The impact sent both combatants flying and buried them in snow.
Amidst the crater, a figure rose slowly. Clad in a blue bodysuit with a red cape and an iconic "S" emblem on his chest, he brushed snow off his shoulders.
"Man, I still can't get the hang of flying. It's harder than it looks," the man said, scratching his head in frustration.
With a crouch and a powerful leap, he shot back into the sky like a missile, disappearing in an instant.
Bruce, watching from his Batplane, stared in stunned silence. His jaw dropped, and his mind struggled to process what had just happened.
