Chapter 6192: What Others Don’t Know
“May I watch you heal Chu Feng before heading in? I won’t run away,” Eggy raised her head and pleaded.
It was rare for her to speak politely, but she wanted to stay with Chu Feng even for a moment longer. It would also give her ease of mind if she saw Chu Feng healed up before leaving.
“You may,” the voice replied.
A ray of light fell from the sky and enveloped Chu Feng. It visibly seeped into Chu Feng’s body, revealing his cultivation.
His spirit power was still at rank one True Dragon World Spiritist, but his cultivation had fallen to rank five Half-God level. Judging by how unstable his aura was, it was likely for his cultivation to fall further at this rate.
But the Ruler’s Bloodline’s mysterious energy soon surfaced and enveloped Chu Feng’s body, healing his Heavenly Lightning Bloodline. His cultivation began to recover, eventually rising back to rank one True God level.
“He’s fully recovered?” Eggy was overjoyed.
Instead of answering the question, the voice urged, “You should head in now.”
But Eggy refused to get up.
She looked at Chu Feng’s chest and called out, “Metal lump, you in there?”
“Watch how you speak to me,” the Asura Sword replied in displeasure.
“How else should I call you? Brat?”
“You are the brat here. I am much older than you!”
But Eggy had her reason for calling the Asura Sword as such. Despite the Asura Sword’s arrogant demeanor, its androgynous voice had a childish tinge to it.
“What should I call you then?” Eggy asked.
“Stop pretending to be dumb, you lass. You know who I am. You should be calling me Lord Asura Sword!” the Asura Sword said.
“All right, Asura Sword. Can you tell me how Chu Feng saved Little Fishy?” Eggy asked.
The Asura Sword fell silent.
It knew about the lord’s means, which was why it didn’t know if Chu Feng could clear her trial. If Chu Feng failed, she would take Eggy back to the Asura Spirit World to nurture her. And if Eggy left, it was unlikely it could stay with Chu Feng.
It wasn’t a big deal for it to leave Chu Feng. While it had a positive impression of Chu Feng, there wasn't much of a relationship between them.
However, it had witnessed Eggy and Chu Feng’s deep bond, and it was privy to some secrets on top of that.
So, it couldn’t help but pity Eggy.
That lord had lured Jie Ranqing into capturing Eggy and putting her inside Chu Feng’s body so that the two of them could nurture feelings for each other.
The plan worked, and the two of them had indeed gotten extremely close. Yet, she suddenly decided to test Chu Feng at this juncture, threatening to pull them apart if he couldn’t clear the test.
The Asura Sword knew the lord must have her reasons for doing this, but this was very cruel to Eggy, who was kept in the dark about everything. She was like a chess piece, her fate decided by someone else’s whims.
“I will tell you.”
The Asura Sword summarized how Chu Feng saved Little Fishy for Eggy.
“Not bad. He unleashed the Heavenly Lightning Nine Slashes to the Fourth Slash. That must be the reward he received from reaching True God level. No wonder he doesn’t want to bring me to rescue Little Fishy.”
Eggy complimented Chu Feng, though she knew he couldn’t hear her words.
She had been in his body all this while, so she knew everything he had been through. Even when she was cultivating, she continued keeping tabs on him. This was the only time she didn’t know what happened to him, and that would become the norm very soon.
The thought of that pained Eggy, but she didn’t let it show. Instead, she stood up and took a deep breath.
“Asura Sword, if Chu Feng asks about me, tell him that even though I brought him here and did things for him, I still can’t forgive him for trapping me inside a contract formation, so I chose to return to the Asura Spirit World via the Immemorial Massacre Sea’s energy. Don’t let him know that I’m trapped here.”
“All right,” the Asura Sword replied.
Eggy shot one last glance at Chu Feng before stepping into the spirit formation gate.
Shortly after Eggy left, the Asura Sword infused a surge of energy into Chu Feng, and the latter regained consciousness.
“This is… the Immemorial Massacre Sea? I’m alive? Why am I here?”
Chu Feng was baffled. He was certain he had sensed his life force dissipating before losing consciousness.
“You’re alive because that lass saved you,” the Asura Sword said.
Chu Feng quickly projected his consciousness into his World Spirit Space. Facing the Asura Sword, he asked, “What happened, Asura Sword? Who did you say saved me?”
“We’re in the Immemorial Massacre Sea. Who else could have saved you?”
“Eggy. She must be the one who saved me. Where is she?” Chu Feng swiftly put the dots together, but he panicked when he couldn’t find Eggy anywhere.
“She suffered a lot to save you. She had to make three wishes before your condition finally stabilized. The first trial was still fine, but the second one left her nearly unable to walk. By the third trial, her complexion was already deathly pale. That was what it took to save you.
“But your bloodline had been damaged by your means too, causing the regression of your cultivation and the limitation of your future growth. So, she made another wish to the Immemorial Massacre Sea. The healing process impaired your Ruler’s Bloodline, but your Heavenly Lightning Bloodline was preserved, allowing you to remain as a cultivator.
“It’s just that she had to pay a heavy price for it,” the Asura Sword said with a sigh.
“What’s the price?” Chu Feng anxiously asked.
“She has to spend the next 100,000 years nourishing the Immemorial Massacre Sea with her bloodline.”
“100,000 years?” Chu Feng was taken aback.
“All right, it’s time to go. Don’t let her sacrifice go to waste,” the Asura Sword said.
There was no way Chu Feng could leave right after hearing that. He projected his consciousness into his World Spirit Space.
